Tom and I would love to welcome you to our lovely, homely cottage where we hope you will enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday. There are many activities such as walking from the cottage up onto the hills, horseriding, sailing on Llangorse lake, canal boats from Brecon, canoeing on the River Wye, shopping in Brecon or visit the Theatre or cinema. Relax and browse around the book shops of Hay-on-Wye, or shop in the small boutiques and have a coffee or lunch in one of the local cafe's /restaurants/pub.
Audrey M Oakley purchased this cottage in 1998
I bought the property in 1998 because of its wonderful location. Down in a dingle surrounded by lovely countryside and limited traffic as its on a bridlepath. It has been my home since then and as such is fully equiped and very cosy with much more than the basic holiday cottage such as books, cds etc. The cottage is lovely and secluded off the beaten track yet only 3 miles from Talgarth with shops and 8 miles from the nearest town of Brecon. There are two fabulous country pubs within 2 miles who serve good real ale and do lovely foood and have fab log fires.
Peace and serenity. Nature. Cosy log fire and comfortable sofas etc
'Thank you Audrey for a wonderful cottage, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It had everything we needed, better than home from home, especially the wood-burning stove. Lovely location, very peaceful with lots of walks from the doorstep. We enjoyed the cottage, garden and local area so much that we will need to come back to visit all the places of interest that we never got round to. Katy and Paul September 2011'
Hi Audrey- just another thanks for our lovely stay- we have been raving about your cottage to everyone we meet- it was absolutely perfect, so welcoming and homely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return,

Very quiet and relaxing country retreat. Cottage was clean and modern but retaining its character.
Will stay again.
Such a lovely spot, and the cottage feels nice and homey, but really nice homey, with great details everywhere, including a top quality wood burner. It is a cottage, so light switches are random and hot water can be a little temperamental, but what you get in return is a cottage full of charm. Our dog loved it too, great garden!
This cottage has spacious comfortable rooms, is beautifully decorated but not so fussy that you're on edge that your children may mess it up! It's perfectly placed between Hay and Brecon and close to stunning walking country. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. We stayed in the winter and the heating and wood - burner kept us cosy. Audrey was really helpful and responded to my queries promptly and we arrived to a very welcoming lit wood-burner. We would love to return to stay here again.
we had a lovely time in this characterful cottage. very peaceful ,quiet location, everything what you need to spend time away from it all
We stayed at this beautiful cottage during the last weekend of October. Our kids loved exploring every nook & cranny as the house was full of character and enjoyed playing outside in the garden which had an apple tree and brook. The beds were super comfy, kitchen fully equipped & it was lovely to relax and watch television in the evening in the warmth of the log fire. It was a surprise that no one missed the wifi !!
All in all a very relaxing break.
Thank u Audrey x
We thought we'd chosen a gem of a place to stay, but Audrey exceeded our expectations, making this the ideal venue for our long weekend. The bottle of very acceptable red wine on the table upon our arrival was very welcome - thank you very much Audrey. We had both had a tough few weeks and the cottage was the perfect antidote. Absolutely love the accommodation and garden, and very highly recommended.
