About Michelle Sheridan
Having travelled much of the world and living overseas for a number of years we came to Northern Cyprus in 2002 for our first holiday and fell in love with its beautiful landscape and its people. We currently live in the Middle East and wanted to put down our roots in a place where we could call home. Northern Cyprus offers the best of both worlds, keeping its own traditions alive while welcoming overseas tourists and settlers.
Michelle Sheridan purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Michelle Sheridan chose Lapta
Why the owner chose a home in this location We fell in love with Lapta with its quaint village and friendly and welcoming local people. We built our house between the mountains and sea, giving spectacular views of the mountains at the back and lovely sea views from the front and sides. The house is secluded, surrounded by olive trees, and can only be reached by a private road. In spite of its privacy, local shops, restaurants, bars and other amenities can be reached within 5 minutes by car. The Lapta seafront has many excellent restaurants, a water park, dive centres and beaches offering water sports. For those wanting total peace and quiet there are, within a short drive, empty sandy beaches waiting to be discovered. The choice of how you spend your time in Lapta is totally yours.
What makes this Villa unique
Our villa was designed to fit in with the surrounding landscape and we have kept as many of the original trees as possible. We built the Villa to make the most of its location and have a constant breeze on the front terraces and balconies and throughout the house. Local friends use our Olives to make Olive Oil, which we love. We have goats and sheep further up the mountain, which gives it a real countryside feel. The gardens are a great place for that first cup of coffee in the morning and, in the evening, the best place to star gaze and relax. Tennis players have a chance to practice their game while families have somewhere to have a game of football in the evening.

Nice, spacious villa
Spacious, well equipped villa with a nice large pool. We enjoyed our stay in Lapta, it is fairly quiet area and we had pleasant views of the mountains and to the coast line. The housekeeper was very helpful and dealt with the issues raised quickly, other than repairing or replacing the DVD player but a change of linen and towels would have been nice as we stayed for 9 nights. The property could use a good clean ( corners, underside of stairs)but on the whole general cleanliness was ok.
There are some very nice, reasonably priced restaurants serving delicious food locally.
Remote, fantastic large pool and tennis court
We had two weeks at Villa Federer. We really enjoyed the large sized pool for daily lengths and fun and it was always kept sparkling clean. There were no parasols on arrival but the housekeeper arranged for some within hours! We played tennis regularly and the outlook is breathtaking, the floodlights will be working next year so we can then play into the late evenings. Lovely beaches nearby and also restaurants. You need to take your own beach towels. The villa is wonderfully remote and view of the hills is breathtaking. A great built in barbecue which we used daily. We look forward to returning to this villa again next year.
Fantastic holiday at villa lapta
This villa is beautiful. It is large and spacious, and all the bedrooms have large ensuite bathrooms. The pool is amazing- 12mx 6m, it provided us all with hours of fun. It was really good for the children too, as it started off shallow then got deeper. There is a tennis court which kept our husbands active. The villa is quite secluded so we didn't disturb any neighbours with the noise we made. Most impressive of all is the stunning views from the villa- the mountains on one side, and the sea views on the other. We had a most amazing holiday at this villa, and would certainly go back again.
Private and Relaxing
I was very impressed with the villa, not only was it private as the add says but also very comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely visit again.
Villa In lapta
We visited the Villa in July and it was absolutely perfect! Where the Villa is situated allows the most amazing views, the sea, mountains and on a clear day even the borders of Turkey. The villa is immaculate and very spacious, we made use of the private pool and private tennis courts daily. We were provided with luxurious home amenities and it was like moving home to home but with even more idyllic surroundings and beautiful weather. We were able to hire a car for £15 a day this enabled us to travel further a field and we visited most of Northern Cyprus. We found luxurious beaches, water parks for the children and there were amazing historic buildings to be seen. The local shops were only 5 minutes away by car and there was everything you would need for a great holiday. I would most definitely recommend this Villa to any body of any age as you will not be disappointed. To sum up the villa in one word would be "paradise"
We're so glad that you enjoyed your holiday. Thank you for staying with us and we hope that you will visit our property again.
We had never been to northern Cyprus before and were looking for somewhere with all the amenities we would need but not the crowds or noise and that is exactly what we found with this villa. The location is perfect as you have views of the mountains from the rear and sea from the front but it is totally secluded and private. The villa is extremely light and airy, beautifully furnished and very spacious. The kitchen and utility room are really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pool is really lovely and there are plenty of sun beds and lots of outdoor seating should you choose to light the BBQ.
There are plenty of places to visit, we went to Bellapais and also tackled the hundreds of steps of Saint Hillerion, which is well worth it for the views and also the homemade lemonade! There is also a really nice waterpark in Lapta, which again we visited.
Kyrenia is a lovely place to visit to see the harbour and historic buildings and we can definitely recommend 'The George' as place to eat. Excellent food and really good value for money.
Michelle and Tarik are excellent owners and provide superb customer service and nothing is too much trouble. This house is definitely used as a home and consequently has everything needed. It is spotlessly clean and the surrounding gardens are well maintained. We wouldn't hesitate in going back and are looking forward to a return visit soon. I would definitely recommend this villa and have already passed the details to all our friends.
Sue, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed our wonderful Villa and we look forward to your repeat custom.

There is also Paragliding available from the top of the mountains near Kyrenia. Walking is a very popular past time and there are many trails around the mountains.
