The Fire Opal 3 was a beautiful apartment, spacious, clean and with everything you could wish for to make us comfortable. Set over two floors, making it a great choice if you have teenagers as I do - we all had a bathroom each - complete luxury! So conveniently located for the river, restaurants and shops. We hope to return later in the year.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very stylish and comfortable, with the added bonus of being just a couple of minutes walk to the town centre and a stone’s throw away from the river. Spotlessly clean with every attention to detail, fabulous modern furnishings, well equipped, even pool towels were provided saving us space in our luggage for extra shopping! My daughter loved to chill out by the beautiful private pool and lounge on the sun terraces. We will be back and won’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
I just wanted to share my views for this property had an absolutely amazing holiday the property was presented really nicely and was really clean and well managed. The management were really friendly and efficient and I would recommend booking a rental through them.
The apartment is clean spacious and has a very contemporary design. 3 very good sized bedrooms would suit any family and my children were delighted to have their very own upper floor! The location is excellent less than 1 minute stroll to the busy riverside where all boats are located. Dalaman is a lovely authentic Turkish town with lots of restaurants to cater for all tastes. The locals are extremely friendly and hospitable. We visited in late October and although the weather was a little chilly this did not stop us from enjoying all the sights of the area.
Special interest holidays:
There is an amazing range of habitats in the local area; from the reed beds north of the town to the Koycegiz Lake 25 minutes outside of Dalyan. With many species of interesting birds, from White Tailed Eagles to Red-rumped swallows, expert birders and amateurs would struggle not to have a great birding holiday.
"I saw 95 species which was a good haul given my relatively limited experience and time''
Cycling is also very good in this area.
Dalyan is best known for its lush greenery, the winding river and a beach which is not just a natural wonder but also won The Times Best Open Space Award in 2010 and is one of the few natural breeding grounds of the beautiful Carreta Carreta sea turtle which can be seen. Over 6km of golden sands with access by bus, car and boat there are cafeterias at either end for refreshments but plenty of empty space amongst the dunes to escape to.
The nearest airport is Dalaman which is a 25 minutes drive away. Once in Dalyan car hire is not essential as we are so close to everything you could need. The town itself is quite small and everything is within easy walking distance.
Everything is within walking or cycling distance in Dalyan. This apartment is within an easy walking distance to restaurants, bars and cafes and the riverboats that you take to the beach or the ruins of Kaunos with its amphitheatre and ancient Lycian rock tombs, the mud baths, sea fishing and so on. Fethiye and Olu Deniz are 50 minutes drive away. Marmaris is about 75 minutes drive, both of which have ferries to Rhodes.
There are many activities available such as trekking through the mountains, cycling and jeep safaris; sunrise or moon light boat cruises for fishing or turtle watching, tours to various islands or just along the coast. Sailing, sea kayaking & white water rafting and diving & snorkelling in clear waters through caves and an abundance of marine life. Horse riding is also available.
Dalyan town itself is compact stretching only a mile in any direction from the centre and is framed by a glorious backdrop of pine clad mountains in every direction. The flatness of town makes it a perfect place for walking with children or the elderly and it is a delight to cycle around. For more active holidaymakers there are forests and hiking hills all within walking distance. Dalyan is also distinguished by the lack of package tourists though there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. There is a market on Saturday’s selling local produce, clothing and tourist items.
The town has a bank, ATMs a post office a number of well stocked supermarkets centered around the town square. Also the Dolmus (bus) area for trips to surrounding attractions and only 50m or so to the riverside to sit by boats or you can take a relaxing walk along the the river or cross the river to Kanos tombs and amphitheatre. The boats can take you to the beach or on moonlight cruises to the lake, crab fishing and turtle feeding. For the more adventurous there are walking tours, scuba diving and microlight flights. There are also hotsprings and mud baths at the nearby Koycegiz lake.
