Brodie Cottage is situated on the edge of the Silvermine Nature Reserve. If you just want to relax by the pool its ideal but its position means it is great for touring the whole of the Western Cape. The centre of Cape Town with all it has to offer is only 30 minutes away. Take the coastal road over Chapman's Peak drive. The views are quite spectacular looking down to the 6km long Noordhoek beach or towards Hout Bay and then have lunch at restaurant on the edge of the beach. Just so much to do and explore right on the doorstep!
Beautiful peaceful setting looking towards the mountains yet within five minutes of Noordhoek farm village and the beach

About Mrs June Maclean
Its hard to believe my husband & I have owned Brodie Cottage for over 17 years now. It was during my first visit to Cape Town that we came across Brodie Cottage. My husband always said that if there was anywhere else in the world he would want to live apart from the UK it would be South Africa. He has travelled extensively throughout his working life and it was his conclusion and I have come very much to agree with it. Our children were very surprised when we told them on our return from my first trip to South Africa that we had bought a house! It had not been our intention & was most certainly out of character but not for a moment have we regretted our quick decision. All our children just love going out now for holidays with their own young families now. Not only was it a very good investment but you just can't put a price on the pleasure it has given us. By the way, its called Brodie Cottage after one of our boxer dogs. He was an adorable rascal but will never be forgotten!
Mrs June Maclean purchased this House in 1999
Why Mrs June Maclean chose Noordhoek
Brodie Cottage is in an ideal location being not far from the airport but also very close to all attractions of the Western Cape. The cottage itself is in a gated secure estate very close to vineyards, excellent restaurants and beautiful beaches. Although we ourselves live in the UK the house is managed by the owner of a renowned B & B in Noordhoek village. Cape Town, being in the southern hemisphere is ideal to visit in November through to the end of April. Some people like the heat of December, January & February. Others prefer March & April when there is little wind. The spring & autumn have charms of their own & often the day temperatures can reach into the mid 20s. Its on the edge of the Silvermine Nature Reserve, ideal for walking and the wild flowers are a sight to be seen especially in spring! In the coolish spring or autumn evenings the open fire in the lounge is deal for keeping the place nice and warm. Only June & July are not ideal months for visiting.
What makes this House unique
Brodie Cottage has a very special charm. We fell in love with it when we first saw it all those years ago. Its so light & airy downstairs even on the hottest of days.

Great place to stay
The Cottage was comfortable, provided everything we needed for a peaceful& restful stay.
The garden was very private and we felt secure being in a gated community.
The location is good and in easy reach of Hout Bay,Kalk & Simonstown with their excellent Restaurants.
Fishhoek beach is about a ten to fifteen minute drive away. It has the influence of the Indian Ocean and is ideal for swimming and has a sandy beach. Noordhoek beach is only five minutes away - miles of lovely sand and super for a walk or riding but not ideal for bathing as its on the Atlantic side and the water is cold.
Cape Town International Airport is approximately 40 minutes away by car. If you wish car hire can be arranged for either collecting at the airport or delivered to Brodie Cottage.
