Beautiful villa, designed by a local Architect, which incorporates a round tower with high vaulted ceilings and spacious open-plan living and dining area. The villa has a very picturesque landscaped garden, with many olive, citrus and fruit trees. One of the key features of the villa is the large private overflow pool. There are many terrace areas allowing outside dining and relaxation. The villa is situated in a quiet, peaceful location as well being only 5 minutes drive from the beach, shops and restaurants.

My name is Lorraine Howard and I live in rural Norfolk with my husband, Jason. He has his own Finance Company and I have just qualified as a Massage Therapist. We have three children, aged 9, 15 and 23.

Why Lorraine Howard chose Lapta
We came to Northern Cyprus in 2004 and immediately fell in love with it's unique rustic charm. It reminded us of various Mediterranean locations 10 years ago, before they had become over-commercialised and in our opinion spoilt. We were looking to buy a property through an agent but stumbled upon the architect/builder of our villa by chance. It turned out to be a very fortunate meeting as we were shown a plot of land that was perfect for us. A few years later and our dream villa was finished for us and others to enjoy. The garden was landscaped and has now become well established. We love the fact that we are in a peaceful village location, yet have easy access to beaches, shops and restaurants. Northern Cyprus really has so much to offer and we love returning each year.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is a real home-from-home with all the amenities you need to relax from day one of your holiday. It is situated in a very unique position at the bottom of the mountains, yet has wondeful sea views. If you are a keen rambler, there is an amazing walk directly behind the villa. It takes you over the mountain and back through the village of Alsancak. This takes around 1 hour and is a daily routine of ours when we visit - allowing us to enjoy our Mezes without guilt! There are longer walks, as well as organised walks on the island.

Coast/Beach: The nearest beach is only a 5 minutes drive (Mare Monte Beach). This is a clean and sandy beach offering sun loungers, umbrellas and cafe. Escape Beach is a 10 minute drive. There are other beaches along the coastal road, which is a 5 minute drive. Many of the beaches offer accredited scuba diving, water sports, restaurants and bars. Travel: Flights to Cyprus are available from many UK airports. You can fly direct into Larnaca or Paphos in Southern Cyprus, or Ercan, via Turkey in Northern Cyprus. The transfer times from the villa are 1.5 hours from Larnaca, 2 hours from Paphos and 40 minutes from Ercan. Car hire is strongly recommended and we are able to offer advice regarding this. Distances: The villa is situated on the border of the villages of Lapta and Alsancak. There is a local shop within 10 minutes walk. The village of Alsancak, which has many supermarkets and restaurants, is a 5 minute drive. The old harbour town of Kyrenia is 15 minute drive. The ancient capital city of Nicosia is 30 minutes drive. The 'ghost town' of Famagusta is 1.5 hours drive and for the adventurous the beautifully unspoilt beaches of the Karpaz Peninsula ('The Pan Handle') is about 2.5 hours drive. Further Details: On arrival there will be a welcome pack of essentials for your use. There are many nearby restaurants offering traditional Cypriot Mezes, as well as european cuisine. We have recommended a few of our favourites in the Villa Manual. This Manual also gives a guide to the amenities and facilities of the villa and surrounding areas. We also have English speaking property managers who are available to offer assistance with any queries you may have. Sterling is suitable for all transactions and we would recommend this as the easiest form of payment. There are also ATMs along the coastal road and many supermarkets, restaurants and shops accept credit cards.

Booking Notes: 25% of the total charge is payable as a deposit on booking. Please note that the villa is only taken off the market when this deposit is received. The full balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your booked date. A breakage deposit of £100 is payable with the balance and returned one week after the end of your holiday. Changeover Day: Changeover days are flexible, as long as there is availability. Notes on prices: Please note that the prices are the starting prices of which are for the minimum amount of people, ie 2. The prices then go up £100 for each room, for example, 2 people in peak season starts at £600, 3-4 people is £700, 5-6 people is £800 and 7-8 people is £900
