Beautyful Tuscan setting

  • 5 of 5

A very beautiful place with a wonderful view over the valley.

The three cottages are situated far from traffic and offers peace and quiet. The cottages lies close to each other and yet still offers privacy to each family which is very nice. The pool has easy access, it is big and there are several sunbeds/shaded areas to use.

The cottage il Sole is cosy and in the real Tuscan style with nice living room and kitchen downstairs (little morning terrace outside with pomegranate tree) and two sleeping rooms upstairs (note that with small children you have to be aware of the stairs, quite steep and no railing).

Staying close to Castiglion Fiorentiono, we often visited and enjoyed the cafes and restaurants. There is also a goo public park with playground which our two boys enjoyed visiting.

We had a couple of daytrips, one to Pisa to see the Tower and one to Sienna which is a really beautyful city. We also had a couple of visits to the Tratemeno lake to enjoy the Water and cooler breeze. Tuscana gets really hot in July.

The owner was very friendly and we had wine and fruit as a welcoming gestur. Also Terry from 'Tuscan Charm' was really service minded, welcoming and helped us with all the questions and needs we had during the holiday. Absolutely a professional experience, will recommend this company to friends and relatives.

A beautyful place to enjoy you Tuscan holiday!

Autumn memories

  • 5 of 5

We did not have time for a summer holiday this year, so arriving here late October was a very pleasant experience.

We had the entire place to ourselves, the pool - still open ( but too cold in October to get in!) was a delight and a great backdrop to enjoy the vast views and , bright sunny days ( 23c remarkably warm)

Our seclusion was "disturbed" on the last two days by the olive harvest. The Borgi is surrounded by olive trees and, we were made welcome in helping harvest the fruit (?) and enjoyed a visit to the olive oil press to watch the whole process - being rewarded with a bottle of very green, fragrant and delicious olive oil

The cottage (Luna) was a homely base for us. Simply furnished with all the amenities we could have wished for - including very good ( and free ) wifi service. It is easy to appreciate how lovely this setting is during spring and summer

Even though late in the year, Cortona was quite busy but beautiful. Pienza was stunning, and the wine tours of caparzo montalchio, and ricasole in Chianti organised by the owner for us were added bonuses.

A very enjoyable introduction to Italy

Looking forward to next time

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Borgo Tranquillita. It is the perfect place to stay whether you use it as a base for travelling the eastern part of Tuscany or just for a relaxing time at the top of picturesque hill. Lots of space around the three cottages, the perfect place for our dog. lots of privacy for ourselves. The cottage is clean and comfortable, the kitchen has got everything it needs - basics, no fuss - , the Wi-Fi works. There are also a couple of nice restaurants in Castiglion Fiorentino - namely Il Passagio and Pietro are well worth a visit.

Thanks to the owner and Terry in particular who were very friendly and obliging. We felt at home from day 1.

This a the perfect place to unwind and we wouldn´t hesitate to return, we loved it! Until next time...

Owner's Response: Greetings , Thanks you very much for taking the time to write this lovely review. The most important part is to know: that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Holidays are precious, we always try to remember that when welcoming our guests. It is always our hope that the few weeks in the year you have to relax , enjoy life and take time for yourselves - is as "good as it gets" - and - just a little of the Dolce Vita - Thanks and, we do hope to see you both and, your doggie another time..

Very relaxing location, Warm welcome, Enj

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd journey to Tuscany, but the first during the early spring and to this part of the beautiful region. Easter here was great - we were by ourselves and so had the whole place to enjoy! Although the pool was ready and open, it was too cold to use in early April, but was good to look at and on the few sunny days here it added to our enjoyment. A comfortable cottage, good beds, clean and welcoming. The owner was very friendly and helpful, we were welcomed with a fresh fruit basket, some local wine and olive oil (apparently it was from 2013 and a rare treasure as the oil from last year was not good anywhere).

The cootage was very peaceful giving great views and lots of good air. Lots of spring colours from the almond blossom to the daisies and all very pretty. The cottages have many olive plants around and, many nice walks.

The town of castiglion was very eventful during Easter. from the torch parade and pageantry - the festivities on Easter day made it all the more interesting for us. Besides this we enjoyed a visit to Altesino winery (arranged for us by the owner), Pienza and Cortona.

Even when it rains - Tuscany still has a certain magic. Every town with history, art and of course good pasta and warm welcomes.

As green as Ireland, but more sunshine!

  • 5 of 5

Our cottage here was cosy and comfortable with great views from the terrace and, from the pool areas. Chris and David made friends with the other children here and we all had a relaxing stay.

The highlights: Lovely pool, clean accommodations, very helpful owner, welcome wine and fruit, amazing views, perfect setting, easy to tour some of the areas of Tuscany, great (free) WiFi and lovely sunny days!

The only downside, which wasn't that much of a problem is the first day going up the (good) road, which is about 2 km and that the nearest bar/shop is about 3km -so unless you are a keen walker or biker, then a car is always needed.

Overall very enjoyable and a place for us to to return.

Better than we imagined

  • 5 of 5

A great find for my family. We were here for 13 nights and enjoyed it every minute. The authentic setting, huge pizza oven, cosy cottage and great pool - plus interesting and enjoyable nrigbours from England and Holland.

The cottage had all we needed for our needs and, the owner and his english speaking "helper" were very kind to us and the other guests. Terry organised tickets at short notice for us to go see the David - thank you!

We are happy to recommend to friends - and you!
