Number 4 is a family home that we love to share. It comes with 2 kayaks and snorkelling gear. The garden is nestled in the hillside with sunbathing and eating areas and a view of the bay. Both bedrooms are individually themed with handmade designer quilts. There are iPod decks and a TV for video use. Both the en-suite bathrooms have full size baths and Hasbro showers. Bath robes and hair dryers are provided. The kitchen is well equipped. The inside\outside lounge has a large sofa and comfy chairs and coffee tables. The apartment is cared for and cleaned by Adris who visits most days. A small welcome pack will be at the apartment on your arrival. We can organise a driver who will meet you and return you to the airport if required.
Recently retired from owning family run tourist attractions in the south east this has been our sanctuary away from the crowds for the past eleven years .Our fantastic house keeper has been with us all these years and is part of our family .Adris knows we need to unwind and chill out and that's exactly what we do .
Bridget Sherwen purchased this apartment in 2005
My husband first came to Grenada as second engineer on a super yacht when he was twenty and loved it .Our first holiday together we visited mourne rouge on a cruise ship not realising we would buy a condo there five years later !!
We have renovated it ,put our personal stamp on it and love it ...and
The beach is a couple of minutes away ,its quiet ,safe ,the views are breath taking but all the time you are only a ten minute walk away from the shopping mall, restaurants ,hotels ,health spas and grand Anse beach where all the beach toys and snorkelling and sailing are available. For us the perfect destination.
What a fantastic location! Apartment very comfortable with plenty of inside/outside space to relax in. The housekeeper Adris very helpful with great customer service. Chicco, the preferred taxi driver a delight and completely reliable - we made good use of him.
Morne Rouge beach is 1 min walk from bottom of stairs at The apartment. MR is idyllic, much quieter and calmer sea than Grand Anse. But best thing is having Grand Anse beach a 10 min walk in the other direction. Best of both worlds.
Loads to do on Grenada. We are family of 4 with two teenagers - selection of things we did: toured island with guide, snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, birdwatching, cycling, fly boarding, ate out most of time (Umbrellas on GA a perfect walking distance, good value, lively atmosphere), day pass (75USD, amazing value) to Laluna hotel where you can use all their water sport kit (kayak, paddle board, hobie Kat, snorkelling gear) , idyllic beach, swim pool, yoga class, 2 drinks and a delicious 2 course lunch in the price.
Chilling at the apartment great as fab selection of DVDs, lovely garden/deck area. Supermarket an easy 15 min walk away and taxis always available to take you home from there, when it is too hot to walk back with the shopping. Use the buses - great fun and very good value.
Our first visit to Grenada, but definitely won't be our last. Have not done all the things/seen all the places that Grenada has to offer yet!
Beautifully located property next to a secluded beach. The property is well catered for couples or families. Short walk to Grand Anse beach or seconds to Mourne Rouge bay. The bay is perfect for taking the sit on top kayaks for an evening paddle as the sun sets. Local supermarket is a 10-15 minute walk. There is lots to see and do as well as chilling on the beach.
The maid (Adris) and the taxi driver (Chico) were brilliant. Weather was 28°C every day, warm evenings. We only stayed for 1 week but want to re-book asap.
It may sound cliche but this place is a tropical paradise.
We really enjoyed our first family trip to the Caribbean. The apartment & location was ideal. Mourne Rouge beach was perfect, with lots of shade and we all enjoyed the Kayaks. Grenada is so friendly and safe and we loved exploring the island. Grand Anse is close by and we could walk back from a number of restuarants. Can't recommend this place more. We were well looked after by Adris and our son loved the DVD collection.
We wanted somewhere to relax and chill out close to a beach in winter warmth and so we thought we would try Grenada. The owner arranged for Mike to pick us up and take us to the property. He became our chauffeur for the fortnight we were there, he knew everywhere and everybody and was much better value than hiring a car. This property was superb, kept clean and comfortable by Adris, who came in virtually every day.The beach was just a few steps away and was idillic. Every evening we walked into the village to eat at the wonderful variety of cuisines. Would definitely recommend the water safari on jet ski's and get Mike to take you to some of the beaches nearby for a whole days sunbathing and swimming on virtually deserted beaches.
Arrived with a friend for a week's chilling, and boy did we chill. We had asked to be picked up from the airport which we were, and went to the appartment via the supermarket to pick up supplies essential to the chilling out! This was no problem for the taxi driver. On arrival he helped to take in both luggage and shopping.
The appartment is cleaned daily during the week by Aldris. She is very helpful with any queries you may have.
It has everything you need and more for a self-catering holiday.
There is a choice of good restaurants within easy walking distance.
If you don't want to go out in the evening, then there is a great selection of DVDs which will have something for everyone, and games.
The beach is just 5 minutes away down the private step way. The water gently laps onto the beach and as you'd expect wonderful for swimming.
By the end of our week we were both well chilled
Thank you Bridget for introducing us to both the Carribean and your home from home. We will be back
I have just returned from a great holiday at 4 Mahogany Run. The apartment, is in a really good position. A supermarket and Grand Anse beach with all the hotels are a gentle walk away. ( They say ten minutes, which it probably is....but in the hot Caribbean sunshine...more like 15/20 minutes...no need to rush when you are on holiday.
However I just loved Morne Rouge beach, just at the bottom of the steps. White sand, warm, clear water with gently shelving beach.... it was just perfect! I swam at least twice a day. There is also a good beach bar...they did a very good lunch. Just two minutes walk away was also a restaurant that over looked
the bay...I enjoyed some very good evening meals there too.
The apartment was well equipped and the real pleasure was the garden and deck area.....just right for sunbathing or lunch etc.
I didn't hire a car, as I used the local buses and taxis, when I traveled around the island, but a car would be easy to keep there.
I loved the fact that Adris cleaned and tidied up behind me on most days.
It was an exquisite holiday..I didn't want to leave! I was there alone but it would be great for couples or families.
I will certainly use this holiday idyll again.
PS There are some horrid reviews of one of the apartments at Mahogany Run on Trip Advisor.....I neither heard nor saw anything that would relate to these reviews during my time at Mahogany Run...it was quiet and peaceful.
Mourne Rouge beach is 2 minutes walk away at the bottom of the steps. It has white sand, and the sea is warm clear witha gentle shelving beach. It is not a busy beach however the Rum Runner from St Georges visits with cruise ship passengers. This brings local colour for a time on some afternoons. Grenada's world famous 2 mile beach of Grande Anse is just over the headland ten minutes walk away. Many hotels and bars are there for your delight.
The airport is ten/fifteen minutes from the apartment
The main town of St Georges is 10/15 minutes drive away in a taxi or hire car.
There are many local buses from the supermarket area. Driving in Grenada is on the left hand side and roads are mostly good.
There are forests, waterfalls and gardens in the centre and many other lovely beaches to visit.
There are some interesting plantations growing chocolate (an island speciality) and various spices (Grenada is the Spice Island) that are well worth a visit.
The apartment has 2 kayaks and snorkelling gear for your use.
There are two scuba diving schools very close by
There is a nine hole golf course near St Georges.
Sailing boats..mostly catamarans..can be hired from the hotels on Grand Anse beach...10 minutes walk away.
The Spice Island Mall is a shopping precinct with supermarket, bank, phone shop, etc is about 10 minutes walk (maybe 15mins in the heat of Grenada)
Local restaurant in short walking distance, also the beach bar is great for lunches.
There is a book in the apartment with all the information you will need about the apartment, the area and the island of Grenada.
