About Christina Ayer
Villa Christina is owned by Christina Ayer, one of the founders of Holiday Garda (the blond on the right in the picture). It was the first villa in the Holiday Garda group, and while still managed directly by Christina, it has all the advantages of a Holiday Garda villa, including fantastic top quality hotel linens and towels, professional cleaning crews, and 24/7 concierge service, with an enormous range of services available in the villa and local area including chef, masseuse, chauffeur, yoga instructor, personal trainer, special excursions, wine tasting courses, and so much more. Holiday Garda specialises in renting villas on behalf of owners of amazing properties to people who want holiday villas that are perfectly cared for and wonderfully serviced. All of our villas are in the south-west Garda area, not more than 30 minutes from our homes, so we are always available. We work personally at each villa and directly with all of our guests to make their holiday villa a real home away from home. Hotel quality linens, excellent professional cleaning, English-speaking advisory and concierge services, and more are at our guests disposal 24/7. We believe that the best holidays should have the independence and freedom of self-catering, together with the luxury care and service of a quality hotel.
Christina Ayer purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Christina Ayer chose Cunettone-villa
Christina and her family built this villa themselves when they first moved to Italy after many years in the UK. We chose this spot because of its special combination of stunning views and relaxing peace and quiet together with the convenience of its location. Everything you really need is in walking distance, without the hustle and bustle of a downtown property, yet the downtown is easily reached both on car and by foot. It was a perfect balance for us between exclusive location and convenience of living. In 2010 we decided to change lifestyle, and bought a farm property in the nearby val sabbia. Since then, we rent the villa in the summer months, and this allows us the freedom (and income!) to run a small hobby farm based on sustainable and organic methods. Maybe, if you are lucky and the season is right, you will find some home-made jams from Christina's own personal produce in your welcome basket!!

A beautiful, modern villa!
I booked Villa Christina for a week long family get-together: 9 adults, 3 kids (8,11,12) and a little dog. The house is beautiful, modern and well equipped and spacious enough to get away from each other when needed. Everything was as described, clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the amazing views over the lake, relaxed by the pool or on the balconies and even had a swim in the pool (thanks to unexpectedly warm April weather) and when that got to cold, moved on to the hot tub! The table tennis and table soccer was an absolute hit with the kids as was kicking a soccer ball over the lawn.
The location is very convenient. It takes you about 20 mins, to walk down to the water front in Salo, the supermarket (Carrefour, open 24/7) is just a 5 minutes drive away and there is a bakery and a great family restaurant just within a 5 to 10 mins walk.
Salo itself is beautiful with lovely cafes, restaurants and a weekly market. It is connected via ferry service to several other picturesque locations on the lake. The drive to Venice took us about 90 mins.
The service was lovely and very helpful. When the cable tv didn't work, the technician was on the doorstep within 30 mins and fixed it!
We had a great week. I would definitely recommend this place and/or use it again!
Thanks for the review! You were great guests, and it was a pleasure having you here. Hope to see again soon!
Fantastic villa well stocked with stunning lake views
We arrived really late and Christina was so patient and welcoming. A very comprehensive welcoming brief. The villa is a little way from Salo but a very short drive. It certainly wasn't an inconvenience to us. The villa is very well stocked with all manner of games. There is Sky tv and tvs in 2 bedrooms. One minor problem was lack of wifi signal downstairs...perhaps a booster might help. Overall we had a wonderful stay and thoroughly recommend it to anyone
Thanks for the great review, and congrats on your beautiful wedding day!! You were wonderful guests, a real pleasure to serve, and i hope we see you again next time (next holiday...not next wedding!!! LOL!)
We were a family group of 6 adults and 7 childrens, and we sepnt great holidays in this house: beautiful view on the lake, swimming pool, jaccuzzi, ping pond table, bbq. The house is greatly located, 5 mn by car to Salo and in the best zone of the lake. The owner Christina is very kindly and always reactive when needed.
It was a real pleasure to have you, and you were fantastic guests! Thank you so much for the review, and i hope to see you again next year!
Beautiful views and perfect for families
Christina was very helpful on arrival and they try to do everything to make you enjoy your stay. House was perfect and when a fan broke another arrived the next morning! Lovely walk into Salo which on Thursday night had lots of musicians playing.
Thanks Neale! I am so glad you had a great holiday, and hope to see you again next time!
Absolutly amazing villa and view
We were 8 adult and 5 kids, and there was lot of space for all of us.The house has all equipment that you can wish.
We enjoyed the garden and the pool very much, and we had the most beautiful weather. We went down to Saló several times, a walk of ½ an hour, it is a very nice town.
Christina was a great help to us, she arranged boat trip, tapas menu in the house (it was delicious) and she helped us find a doctor when we needed that.
We would love to be back one day :-)

Thank you Christina for a lovely holiday in Villa Christina! The villa was absolutely fantastic and the view to the lake was spectacular! Our holiday was perfect, except is was over too soon…
Thank you for all the information and tips you gave us, it was really nice to meet you! The children played a lot with the toys and everyone had fun with the table tennis. The pool area was lovely.
Villa Christina is a relaxing and wonderful place to spend a holiday! We highly recommend it to everyone, with or without kids.
It was really great to have you! You were wonderful guests, and we would happy to have you again any time...maybe next time for longer...!!
A wonderful spot for a holiday, Salò is the perfect balance between small town and city. It has characteristic cobblestone streets and beautiful old world architecture, with everything in easy walking distance. And it also has all the services and entertainments you expect in a city, including theatre, museum, historic sights, restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets and more. Its lake front promenade is purported to be the longest in Italy, and you can stroll along the lake with beaches to one side and side walk cafés, restaurants, bars and delightful small shops to the other. Salò was founded during the Roman era with the name Pagus Salodium. It is not certain how the town got its name but one theory is that it was named after Salodia, an Etruscan Queen who lived here. In the Middles Ages, the town became a stronghold of the powerful Visconti family from Milan. In 1440, after a long war, Salò join the "Magnifica Patria" and fell under the rule of the Venetian Republic. In 1560, Salò was eventually bestowed with the honorary title of 'city by royal decree'. Historical sites include: - The Duomo di Santa Maria Annunziata (cathedral), rebuilt in late Gothic style in the 15th century. It has a noteworthy Renaissance portal by Gasparo Cairano and Antonio Mangiacavalli, paintings by Zenone Veronese (16th century), a Polyptych of Paolo Veneziano's school and a Madonna and Saints by Romanino. - The Palazzo della Magnifica Patria (16th century). The palace is home to the Historical Museum of the Azure Ribbon, an exhibition of documents on Renaissance history, on Italy's colonial wars, the Spanish Civil War and the Resistance against Fascism. - The Communal Palace is the seat of the Civic Archaeological Museum, with findings from the ancient Salodium. During the Second World War, from 1943 to 1945, the town was the base of the Republic of Salò from where Mussolini’s party ruled. This was a puppet state of Nazi Germany during Mussolini’s last years of decline, and after the Allied invasion he had no real powers over the rest of the country. The official title of the government of the Salò Republic was the "Italian Social Republic". Down the road from Salo, about 2km to Gardone, and you will find the Vittoriale museum, official residence of Gabriele D'annunzio and a fascinating testament to the futurist movement in Italy in the early 1900s. It is also an open air theater, with many important concert dates during the summer season. Take the ferry from the port of Salo to a number of fun day trip destinations, including the panoramic gondola up the Monte Baldo from Malcesine, and the towns of Riva, Limone, Toscolano, Sirmione or Desenzano. About 45 minutes away, by Peschiera del Garda, you will find a nest of world famous theme parks including Gardaland and Canevaworld, a safari park and zoo, famous botanical gardens, and a wonderful hot springs lake at Lasize. For those with an archeological/anthropological bent -- and for spelunkers too -- the villa is not far from the famous caves and neolithic cave paintings of the Val Camonica. Verona, with its opera season, ancient roman arena as well as Juliet's balcony, is about 60km away. Venice is about 160km away, and Milan about 175km away, both within easy day trip distance.
