About Alex Marquez (for English)
We are Santi and Pepe, married with 2 sons. We live in a beautiful white washed village named Alora. I am working as teacher for 3 to 5 year old children (Santi) and Pepe is working in our Villa´s stuff. Besides that, our son Alejandro is involved in our Villa for holidays, as he speaks English as well.
Alex Marquez (for English) purchased this Villa in 1992
Why Alex Marquez (for English) chose Álora
We bought the land first because of the location, very accessible to town and the lovely views of the town, Guadalhorce valley, mountains and castle. Then it took 2 years to construct and complete the house.
What makes this Villa unique
The location has breathtaking views of the castle and the countryside, there is no dirt track so no need to hire a four wheel drive, just any normal car will do. The poolside is so secluded and private.

Damage and incidentals
This house is the best we've ever had and the hosts are really welcoming. Everything was a smooth process from start to finish. Communication via homeaway messaging gave fast responses to everything. Although we didn't hire any transport I would recommend doing so as there isn't a footpath to Alora. Maybe Alex and Pepe could supply a couple of cheap bicycles to take that little bit of a feeling that it's a chore going to the shop everyday. You'd be able to carry more on a bicycle. Oh and buy cat food. There's two feline visitors everyday. Anyway.. the facilities at the house are 1st class.. cleanliness is A1. The pool is peefect. All in we had a fantastic time and we will return without a doubt. Thanks Pepe and Alex.
Thanks Andy. Your idea of the bicycle we It seems to us is excellent.
Idyllic villa in beautiful surroundings.
We absolutely loved our holiday at this villa. It is beautiful inside and the pool is private and relaxing. There are so many places to sit and relax, and you can always find shade. Pepe was excellent to communicate with and we had a lovely welcome pack. Really was home from home. We visited Gibraltar, Ronda, Malaga and Puerto Banus whilst we were there. We usually eat out a lot on holiday but the villa was so lovely, that other than our days out, we didn't want to leave it, so had plenty of bbqs. Alora itself is a lovely town with a must visit castle. The views from up there are stunning.
The shower was a little temperamental, but because of the beautiful villa and surroundings, that didn't even bother or effect us. Would highly reccommend, but think to enjoy the area a car is needed ( although there are good train links). We all agreed that it was the best villa we had stayed in, and although the world is a big place, really hope to return.
Beautiful secluded villa
We spent eight enjoyable nights as a family in this beautiful villa just outside the town of Alora. The villa is set on a nice size plot and is surrounded by farm land. Outside, the numerous eating areas always offer a respite from the sun or the wind and the pool is just the right size for a cooling dip. The villa itself had plenty of space for four people.
Pepe and Santi were very friendly and helpful hosts, providing a welcome back of essentials including some nice wine. We travelled around on days out and found Alora to be a good base for trips as far away as Seville and Cordoba. One small word of warning, plan a trip to Alora castle carefully as the back streets of the town are very narrow and confusing.
We have just returned from a week in this fabulous house, myself husband and 3 granddaughters (8,9,9). Everything we could possibly need was available in the kitchen. The air conditioning was excellent. The girls spent everyday in the pool it was perfect for them. Lots of different outdoor seating areas with some spectacular views. I have nothing negative to say at all. Great little touches such as water, wine, ice lollies in the fridge to welcome us. We all loved every minute here and will definitely be booking again for next year.
Relaxing sunshine retreat
Host was very helpful and prompt to respond to any questions. We found it difficult to locate the property but Pepe met us and guided us.
Property was attractive and outside areas excellent. Good range of outdoor furnishings, barbecue area and well placed canopies for shade.
Villa itself is very well equipped and lovely welcome package left for us. Kitchen area has all amenities. Felt that it could have been left cleaner for us but all cleaning materials were there to quickly rectify. Probably just me!
Lovely bright dining area and sitting room, home from home really. Bedrooms were clean and fresh. Master has small double, extensive hanging space and plenty of hangers. Other two bedrooms have twin beds. Efficient air con systems in all.
The villa is situated a little way outside the town which is on a steep hill. We did not attempt to walk into town as there are no pavements as such and it is a busy, fast road. We would say a car is essential. However the town is stunning and the views from the villa are phenomenal especially of the castle and surrounding valley! Lovely, welcome breeze most days. Fabulous for sunbathing.
There are lots of interesting places to visit and the area does have many bars and restaurants. The town square is delightful for sitting over a coffee and people watching before shopping in the good range of local shops. Very friendly local people.
Overall a fabulous relaxing two weeks.
P.S. Good WiFi for our teenage son! Phew!
Thank you very much for your comments, it was a pleasure to have you as tenants. We hope you come back again. The house was in perfect condition and thanks for the bottle of cava, It was delicious
