About Mr Keith John McKeown

We are a married couple for 30 years In our fifties.

We have four children all grown up.

And invested time in finding a cottage to renovate.

We spent 3 months to complete the work & we maintain the cottage to as close as the day we finished so every booking has the same quality of stay and the cottage always has the advertised standerd.

Mr Keith John McKeown purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Mr Keith John McKeown chose Suffolk

Hope cottage is in an area we always travel to when we have time the area has so much to do and everyone who has stayed have found something for them.

We feel in love with the cottage built in the 1600 which gives it a lovely warm cottage and feels cosy.

Our renovation is modern with all you need but retaining the open fire cottage windows it maintains its history.

What makes this cottage unique

New for Spring 2017 We are providing our guests with a Summer House.

Pre dinner drinks or Dinning in enjoy the longer days sitting relaxing in comfy chairs (not the ones in the photo as they had not been delivered in time). As the sun goes down candle light gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the warmer evenings.

A lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hope Cottage. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and situated in a peaceful village. All rooms were really well furnished and the bathroom was huge. The private garden at the rear of the cottage had a summerhouse and was a lovely place to relax with a glass of wine! An ideal location for visiting the coast.

Adding the artificial turf has lifted the rear garden and made it a place guests will like to enjoy. We continue to listen to our guests which enables us to provide a lovely cottage to stay in.

A great cosy cottage with lovely garden.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Hope cottage. Spotless on arrival and met all our needs. The cottage is located in a friendly village and a short drive to some of the best locations in Suffolk. We enjoyed Minsmere RSPB reserve Orford Ness and Dunwich beach and Heath.

Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from Hope Cottage. A perfect visit. The cottage is immaculate, the garden superb and the sun house is the cherry on the cake .

We stayed for a few days following our Suffolk wedding and arrived to find a card and a bottle of wine. What a lovely gesture.

Will certainly recommend

small but comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Hope Cottage helped by the weather being very warm and mostly sunny and were able to sit in the gardens and have breakfast outside, we would have found eating at the small table in the kitchen too cramped. We were unable to access the wifi, not sure why. Overall the cottage was comfortable and clean.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest. Thank you for your review. All guests are given our contact details and this is for any problems big or small we have not had any internet issues past or present and would like to have had the chance to resolve yours. A lager table in the kitchen would draw complaints reagarding room in the Kitchen and we have not received any other comments regarding the size but we do take this onboard. Overall you seemed to have enjoyed your stay and we have seemed to get most things right for you.
