House in Polzeath, Cornwall, Large Secluded Garden With Off Road Parking For 5 Cars

White Lodge is spacious and very comfortable for large families or groups of people. Weekly rental during July and August, weekends and short breaks during other times of the year.

The large conservatory dining room is light and spacious and has long tables for seating at least 18 people. The big kitchen has another farmhouse type table, it has an electric range cooker, large fridge and a small fridge plus the usual washing machine, drier, dishwasher, two toasters, and well stocked with pans, dishes etc. The lounges are side by side with glass doors so they can be opened out for one lounge or closed to make two, one with the TV and the other with the open fire. The large garden has plenty of room for playing with the family, barbecue on the patio and lying in the sun. There's room to park at least 5 cars within the gate.

Situated 300m from the sandy surfing beach of Polzeath which is one of the best surfing beaches on the north coast with lots of cafes, restaurants, surf shops as well as surf lessons and board hire. The beach has life guards during the summer.

Daymer Bay is at the mouth of the camel estruary and is a big sandy beach leading all the way up to Rock with sand dunes behind the beach. The waves are smaller than at Polzeath so more suited to swimming and wind or kite surfing.

Grenaway beach is between Polzeath and Daymer Bay and is a great beach at low tide for rock pooling. Rock is great for sailing, water skiing and other water sports. From here take the ferry over to Padstow and visit some of the famous Rick Steins restaurants or one of the many other great restaurants, cafes and bars.

The coast line foot path is spectacular whatever the sea state.

Places to visit include the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Trust Gardens including Trelissick and Lanhydrock, then theres Creallys adventure park just the other side of Wadebridge. There are now many mountain bike trails around Cornwall and the camel trail is a flat beside the river Camel from Padstow through to Wadebridge and Bodmin with bike hire at each town.

White Lodge is great for a big family or group of friends going on holiday together as it has as large conservatory with long tables so everyone can eat together in a light and spacious room, its also has bedrooms on the ground floor which is suitable for people not wanting to use the stairs. The garden has a very large lawn, a great place for playing games and a big patio for eating outside.

What makes this house unique

Very close to the beach and all the facilities of Polzeath so there is no need to use the car unless you want to go exploring other parts of Cornwall. Walk to the beaches Polzeath, Grenaway, Daymer or Rock and take the ferry to Padstow, or take the coast path to Port Isaac for a well earned lunch.

Notes:
Outside: There is a large patio accessible from the kitchen leading down to a large lawn. The garden is fenced all around and cars can be parked in the car parking area and the entrance gate closed if necessary. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels are included in the rental. White Lodge will be cleaned to a high standard when you arrive. The rental includes a clean - 2 people for 3 hours, any more will be charged at £15 per hour. Other: The conservatory is used as the dining room with three pine tables and at least 18 chairs. It is a very light and spacious room so lovely even when the weather is a little dull.

A wonderful holiday home in Polzeath

We loved it and the situation was perfect. There were a few minor issues which did not detract from our overall enjoyment but probably worth mentioning.

Two locks on the bathrooms upstairs were very difficult for children to cope with. A washing line would be appreciated. Apart from that it was a wonderful holiday and we are hoping to book again for next year.

Large, comfortable, clean and well positioned for the beach

The property was excellent for a large group (11 teenagers, 2 adults) with the kitchen very well equipped for large scale cooking. It was thoughtful to have two fridges and a freezer compartment, and the long dining table and big garden also helped a lot. The property was well positioned for the beach - an easy walk down although a steep hill up so be aware of that if you have elderly guests or pushchairs. The cleaner and household helps were very efficient and friendly and responded to questions during our stay. The recycling was difficult to manage as there were not a sufficient number of external recycling bags to manage everything. Overall an excellent holiday and we would love to return.

Wonderful holiday home

A lovely holiday home for the 17 of us. Fantastic location; you don't often find such a large house, so close to the beach and other amenities. Plenty of living accommodation so everyone could spread out, without feeling on top of one another. Very well equipped kitchen with enough utensils and catering size saucepans, making it a pleasure to cook a roast dinner for everyone. Bit of a headache with the bedrooms, only because the website was a little outdated and the number of beds described in each room didn't match what was actually there. Also could have done with a mirror in one bedroom and the ability to access an electric socket by a mirror in another. Washing line in the garden would have been helpful too. However, these are just 'fussy' little things really and would 100 % recommend this house to others. We had s fantastic weekend and hope to be back next year.

Family get together for special birthday

Ideal house for combination of ages, youngest 4 oldest 70. 2 sitting rooms number of bathrooms, bed arrangements proximity to the beach all worked really well. Plenty of fridge space and big enough tables for eating as a group of 15, playing board games and drawing and colouring.

The conservatory was too hot or too chilly but we managed by opening the door or switching on the storage heaters. perhaps a fan or blinds?
