Fantastic, quirky house in relaxing rural location.
Perfect place to spend a relaxing week by the pool, enjoying great local food & wine and visiting beautiful towns in the region. The house is unique, architecturally fascinating and filled with a large, eclectic collection of art. Bonkers but brilliant.

Notre séjour à "Planche"
Agréable séjour dans cette maison d'artistes très dépaysante. La piscine est très sympathique. Le Périgord tout autour est très paisible, loin des lieux trop touristiques. Les enfants étaient ravis.

River beaches at various locations nearby, as well, the lake at "La Jemaye", where they also offer archery, water skiing, fishing, tree climbing and horse riding.
Nearest airport is Bergerac, 51 km, also airports at Bordeaux,120km, Poitiers, 173km, Limoges,119km. Nearest TGV station is Angouleme, 56km, with connections to Paris and the UK. Calais is 790km away, car is recommended.
The nearest village St Vincent de Connezac,3 km,great bakery supermarket,post office restaurant. Then Siorac de Ribérac 4 km, the Roman church of Siorac 12th century. Villetoureix12.km, with bar/restaurant and village shop. Ribérac 8,5km away, 12th century church, several supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, banks,doctors, dentists, pharmacies, and its famous weekly market.There is plenty to see and do in the area: tennis courts and horse riding fishing & canoeing many bike routes and walks.
Very conveniently located for exploring the Dordogne: prehistoric caves, chateaux, delightful small villages and churches, local produce markets etc. For those interested in prehistory, there are so many caves to visit: of course the world-famous reproduction cave at Lascaux, and also Villars with its cave paintings, Font de Gaume, Cap Blanc, Grand Roc, Le Gouffe de Padirac, La Roque de St Christophe, le Gouffre de Proumeyssac etc. For lovers of history: the famous monolithic church at Aubeterre, built into the rock, the largest of its kind, one of the most attractive towns in France; the Dordogne Venice “ Brantôme” ; Ribérac with its own 12th century church, Then Périgueux with a museum/archaeological site gallo-romaine Vesunna and the Saint Front Cathedral built on the route of St Jacques de Compostel; the medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canèda. Also worth a trip: the Farm du Parcot, a showpiece of rural architecture in the heart of the Double forest; the médievale chateau de Bourdeilles, the chateaux at Puyguilhem, Beynac, Biron, Les Milandes, de Losse, et de Puymartin.
