House in Grosmont, Nr Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors - Excellent Walking Country With Direct Access To The Moors, The Coast To Coast Walk Passes The House

Our usual changeover day is Friday, especially at peak times. At other times we try to be flexible. The house will be available after 4pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 10am on your day of departure

Hillside enjoys an elevated position overlooking the Esk Valley. There is easy access to the village with its historic steam train station and workshops which are open to visit. A short drive across the beautiful moors leads to the bustling port of Whitby and many other quaint villages await discovery each with their own delightful charms. From the doorstep walks lead in all directions and with a little planning you can even come home by train! The house has a new oil fired central heating system with a cosy woodburner in the lounge. The location is very peaceful only disturbed by the gentle puff of the steam trains down in the valley and the call of the woodpeckers and the pheasants

We do allow well behaved dogs to visit. The house is suitable for two small dogs or one larger breed. It is important to discuss this with us before you book as we do have some simple house rules that we need to make you aware of

A beautiful, comfortable and spotless home with the best views I have ever seen in Yorkshire.

Very impressed from first entering the cottage. On exploring the cottage the views from all the bedroom, dining room and lounge windows became clear. Stunning. We were a party of eight OAPs with medical conditions/disabilities so cars were essential for us to get out and about because of the hilly terrain but it must be pure heaven for hill walkers. The icing on the cake for our party would have been a small awning above the bench outside the kitchen window so that the smokers in our party could have a cigarette out of the rain - but that in no way detracted from our stay (we had umbrellas!!) We would ABSOLUTELY recommend this cottage.

Comfortable, charming and beautifully located

Hillside is a wonderful place to stay.

The house itself is very comfortable and a winning combination of country charm and contemporary style. The rooms are light and airy and almost all have stunning views over the valley.

Grosmont is a delightful little village well worth exploring (whether you're a steam train buff or not!) and is ideally located as a base from which to explore the stunning North York Moors.

The owners were a pleasure to deal with throughout and I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Well maintained and in a perfect location.

This was for a family gathering of seven and a planned day out on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We had a very enjoyable stay, enhanced by great weather which meant that we were able to eat several meals outside.
