This was my 3rd visit to this apartment in Kalkan (we're soon heading back for a 4th visit) and for good reason. Its location is perfect. Close to town, not many hills to climb after a long day on a boat (a great day if you pick the right boat) or at the beach and less than 10 minutes to all the restaurants and the Marina but quiet when you want to relax by the pool. The pools being split over the site is fabulous as its rare that one gets over crowded or too noisy.
The apartment itself has everything we need for a chilled out breakfast of local bread and honey, a quiet lunch amongst the bourganvillia flowers or a post dinner drink on the balcony at sundown. The roof terrace gets super hot during the day but is ideal for those sun worshippers who love the heat. The top bedroom can also get very hot but the air-con more than copes.
The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival - even though our flight landed early. The downstairs bathroom is a little tired and the shower has a tendency to over -flow but that is definitely down to the Turkish plumbing & pipes and can be managed once you get used to it.
The managing agent is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble - even sending something back to the UK when I left it in a drawer. Gold stars for Karyn.
Kalkan highlights: salt n' pepper restaurant, Samphire restaurant, Yildiz 3 boat trip, Misty May leather shop, Oscar Watches and Just Silver jewellery.
Overall I'd definitely recommend a trip to Kalkan and this apartment is a great base.
Thanks so much for the lovely review and look forward to seeing you again very soon! And will see what can be done about the shower x
Our party was myself and my daughter so the apartment was great as it had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It would have suited up to 4 people just as well. It had everything we needed during our stay and was in a good location on the edge of the old town for walking out to bars/restaurants on an evening.
It was lovely to see you again and so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
My partner and I recently stayed in N3 for 2 weeks and we were delighted with it, it is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The water cooler is a much appreciated feature. Karyn, the local agent for the property, was extremely helpful and always available if we had any queries.
The apartment is ideally located, so easy to walk everywhere and the both complex and its pools are clean and well maintained.
The balcony off the sitting room is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal or glass of wine and the awning means there is always some shade.
Can highly recommend and we will be returning ourselves.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and thank you for being delightful guests. So hope we will see you again soon.
Gem of an apartment in Kalkan
We stayed here in early August. The Mediterranean complex is just above the port (it's not marked on Google but sits between Akdeniz Cad. and Acelya Sk/Nilufer Sk.). You don't need a car since it's a 5-min walk to many of the Kalkan amenities including the port and its restaurants, as well as the local shops and restaurants. This is a major advantage over villas higher up on the Kalkan hillside that you need a taxi ride down from in order to get into the town. It was fun getting fresh produce from the grocers, the supermarkets are well-stocked and restaurants slightly cheaper than around the port.
On arrival the apartment was clean and well-furnished. In high summer you need the air-conditioning, especially for the bedroom upstairs in the roofspace. The TV is a bit dated but the internet is a godsend: there were occasional power outages but usually early morning and a minor inconvenience. You have a choice of swimming pools in the complex and the apartment provides its own sun-loungers & cushions. Alternatively you can get a shuttle to one of the Beach Clubs.
The downstairs balcony is large enough to accommodate up to 5 (at a pinch) and we found the sofa is actually a pullout bed. The apartment is on the second floor - but the stairs became our primary source of exercise during the two weeks. Despite its central location we did rent a car (I can recommend Dalaman Car Hire straight from the airport) and there's plenty of parking in side streets surrounding the complex. Alternatively you could use taxi or Dolmuş for the airport transfer and visiting local sights such as Saklikent Gorge, Kaputas Beach (best in Turkey) and Patara. If you want a day cruise [highly recommended] on a smaller boat (say 12 passengers eg. Pina-x) book up early because the better boats may already be chartered. The apartment has a valuable guide to local facilities and things to do.
Our thanks to Karyn (the agent) who was very attentive & helpful and managed to resolve initial teething issues with two of the aircon units (now replaced).
So pleased you enjoyed the holiday and thank you for the review. Hope to see and your family back in Kalkan very soon.
My husband and myself booked this beautiful apartment for our honeymoon and must rave about it!
It is a beautiful apartment set over 2 floors and has all the mod cons needed to enjoy 2 weeks in Kalkan.
It is a 5 min walk into the town centre by cutting across the car park which was perfect for us to venture for a meal or to buy the necessities.
The apartment has 2 twin rooms but Azura Homes pushed 2 neds together creating a huge and massively comfortable kingsize bed for us.
There is air conditioning in the living room and both bedrooms and works brilliantly.
The best bit had to be the water cooler meaning no more lugging bottles out of the freezer!
The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and I would happily stay again in the future.
Nothing was too much trouble for Karyn and I would happily recommend this apartment to any other people looking to book.
I would also recommend Azura Homes to help with your holiday, I will be coming back next year and using this company for our holiday!
So pleased you both enjoyed your holiday/honeymoon and look forward to seeing you again in Kalkan. xx
We spent a fortnight at Med N3- my wife and I and our two daughters in their early 20s. We had a super time! Comfortable, clean, fresh-smelling and cool when required!
This apartment has lots of positive points about it!
1. It is only a few steps away from the taxi rank across the car park, from which there is a lovely walk down through the busy shopping streets down to the harbour, or a 5 minute downhill (steepish) walk direct to the harbour.
2. It has 2 nice comfortable twin bedrooms, one downstairs and one up, and two toilets and showers (More than one toilet is ALWAYS a good thing!).
3. It has efficient air-conditioning units in both bedrooms and in the living/kitchen area, and also lovely big fans in the bedrooms.
4. There is a small upstairs balcony with drying frame - ideal for drying towels and costumes, or clothes if you want to use the efficient washing machine. Downstairs there is a larger balcony, with a big shade that you can roll down if you want, with chairs and a table. From here there is a nice view of the bay.
5. The apartment is one of a pretty large complex, but there is very little noise. There are 5 swimming pools and you can choose to use as many or few as you want, and there are labelled sunbeds and cushions for you to use.
6. The kitchen is well equipped, with plentiful hot water, a big fridge freezer, and all the cutlery, pans etc. you could need for eating in. Also a water cooler that dispenses lovely fresh bottled water on demand.
7. We had hired a car, and found it easy to park in various places around the outside of the complex.
8. The price was very reasonable.
These points are in no particular order; each will be more important to different people depending on their needs.
We can think of no big disadvantages. You need to be able to cope with steps, and we had one late night because of noise from the hotel behind the complex when they had a Saturday night barbecue, but just the one night.
Thanks so much to all of you for coming. It was lovely to meet you and I hope to see you back in Kalkan soon. x
