Apartment in Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors, England - Quiet Village Location Just 3 Miles From Whitby

The property lies in an elevated position, just 3 miles from Whitby, and 21 miles from Scarborough. Pretty stone cottages line the main street, and the local pub - a traditional inn, with a welcoming open fire and beamed ceilings - offers excellent local fayre. Close by is Beacon Farm, which produces wonderful ice cream and also has a tearoom and farm shop. Sneaton is a wonderful location for walkers, and numerous public footpaths can be found around the village, notably the Monks Trod; an ancient stone path that monks followed to worship at Whitby Abbey. Down the road lies the village of Ruswarp, where visitors can go boating on the River Esk, make use of the small golf course, or visit the locally renowned butcher’s shop. The famous fishing port of Whitby is only a short drive away, with its cobbled streets and alleys, good beaches, excellent restaurants and array of cafes. A must for any holidaymaker!

My wife and I love Whitby and visit as often as we can.

Whitby is a classic British seaside town, overlooked by the famous abbey and boasting some first class restaurants and bars. The beach is hugely popular on a sunny day and the harbour very picturesque.

Still a working fishing harbour, Whitby is very much a town 'on the up'. Fish and chips is obviously very popular and if you want to eat in the famous Magpie then you need to start queuing early!

Cross the bridge into old Whitby and it is like stepping back in time. A narrow cobbled street, filled with team rooms and interetsing shops, leads to the famour abbey steps and fantastic views over the harbour and surrounding coast.

What makes this apartment unique

Sneaton Hall was originally a country house hotel, being converted into nine modern apartments in 2006.

Sneaton is just 3 miles from Whitby and provides a perfect location from which to explore the coast and the nearby North Yorks Moors. There is a farm shop in the village selling wonderful ice cream and a friendly local pub selling great food.

Apartment 1 retains many of the original features, including a beautiful chandelier in the lounge. The large picture windows have a view down to the sea and the abbey and the communal gardens are ideal for drinks in the evening or for children to play safely.
