A spacious 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment with a light & airy feel. Private balcony & large sun terrace with storage room for cases & golf clubs. Free Wi-Fi Internet. Terrace and balcony overlook the gardens & swimming pools to the north, and the terrace also has views of the golf course and far mountains to the south. La Torre Resort is built around a golf course with wide tree-lined boulevards and resort security. The resort centre offers restaurants, bars, hair salon and ATM, with a large supermarket just a few minutes' walk away. During the winter months the resort is very quiet and some of the restaurants and bars close, but the local village of Roldan is a 20 minute walk, or a short drive away, and offers a very wide choice of restaurants and bars with excellent prices. A couple of the restaurants also offer transport to their restaurants during the evening and takeaways delivered to the apartment! Our apartment overlooks 2 swimming pools and a toddler pool/jacuzzi, but elsewhere on the resort there are multiple swimming pools and tennis courts. There are no public heated swimming pools, but there are a couple of indoor pools not too far away. Staying from October to May the apartment offers a quiet relaxing time with dry sunny days - excellent weather for golf. July and August are great for holidaymakers with restaurants and bars open, the occasional market in the town centre and added entertainment for children and adults. La Torre Resort is situated in the centre of the region of Murcia, just 20 minutes from amazing beaches & watersports, and an ideal centre for exploring the surrounding countryside, visiting historic sites & attending local fiestas and markets.

Why Ann Page chose Cartagena - Mar Menor

The Costa Calida has one of the warmest all year climates in Spain. We chose the area because it is only 20 mins from the coast and 30 mins up into the mountains. It is also in a central location with easy access Murcia city and the historic port of Cartegena. We chose La Torre Golf Resort specifically because of its wide open boulevards, pretty landscaping and onsite amenities. And the fact that there was no building work going on, the resort is complete! We chose the apartment because it is so light and airy and close to the resort centre. And being just 2 mins from the 1st tee, it seemed a shame not to play golf, so in October 2011 we had 10 hours tuition by a pro-golfer and achieved our basic handicap certificate and now have 7 easy-to-reach golf courses to choose from!

What makes this apartment unique

Our penthouse apartment is extremely private, neither the balcony nor the large, L-shaped sun terrace are overlooked. The sun terrace overlooks the pools and gardens to the north, and the driving range and golf course to the south - a choice of sun or shade throughout the day. We also like the storage room on the terrace. The apartment is fully air-conditioned and has radiator heating throughout, so ideal all year round. We furnished it to be comfortable for us and this has been much appreciated by our guests. The apartment is located just a minute's walk from the resort centre and the golf clubhouse, but away from the noise. We find it very relaxing and peaceful every time we go there. It's an ideal place to unwind, but there is plenty going on in the area if you want it.

We had a very relaxing week. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the terrace for a bit of warm winter sunshine. We did not leave the resort all week & found plenty of places to eat & a well stocked and inexpensive supermarket all within a five minutes walk from the apartment. Notes on accommodation: The apartment is very comfortably furnished for 4 persons in 2 bedrooms. It is light and airy, and benefits from a balcony plus a large open terrace which wraps around the apartment and offers views both to the south over the golf course and mountains and north over the pools and garden area. A full range of baby and toddler equipment for sleeping, eating, playing and travelling is available through and can be ordered in advance for delivery on arrival. Please ask us about the size of the bedrooms before ordering children's beds as space is limited. Outside: The apartments are built around a communal garden with flower beds, grass areas and 2 large swimming pools, plus a small jacuzzi/toddler pool, poolside showers and a children's play area. The pools are not heated. There is plenty of parking close to the apartment, plus the use of a designated parking place in the underground garage. A refundable deposit is required for the underground keyfob. Utility Room: Fast spin speed washing machine, iron & ironing board. A clothes airer/dryer is provided, plus a full washing line on the terrace. Also a cool box with freezer packs available. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is thoroughly cleaned for every guest & beds made. Towels & bed linen included A separate Meet & Greet, laundry & cleaning charge of 60 Euros is payable on arrival. Beach/swim towels available at 2 euros each payable locally. Other: The balcony and terrace both have a table & 4 chairs for outdoor dining. Also a selection of loungers & sunbeds, plus 2 picnic chairs, cool box and cool packs. Store room off the terrace for storage of suitcases & golf clubs. Beach/swim towels available.

Very comfortable substancial and well equiped apatment, set in a well maintained environment.

The apartment has a large balcony combined with a very large patio area at the top of an apartment block. It is well equipped, with very effect heating, if needed, excellent tv reception, is comfortable and overlooks an extremely well manicured central garden providing access to three very clean swimming pools. The resort has a feel of a small town, with some facilities including a well equipped supermarket. There is 24 hr. security with key access to residential communal areas. The combination of a well kept private resort and this excellent apartment is not just for those who play golf, it's for anyone who wishes a relaxing break, with the addition of beaches only some 20 minutes drive away..

Lovely apartment - two balconies!

Great property. Large living area and two balconies accessed from this room. Everything you need for a super holiday on this popular golf resort. The main bar / restaurant area is just across the road and the well stocked supermarket jst round the corner. Good base to explore the area.

perfectly placed and well equipped

A last minute week over at La Torre to continue last year's property search. Last time we stayed in a hotel in the centre of Murcia, but as we had decided that La Torre was the place for us, we wanted to stay there to experience it whilst looking.

When we arrived at the gate we were met by the keyholder who took us to the flat. A short lift ride to the penthouse and we were in and thanking our lucky stars that the apartment was fully central heated. By heck it was cold over there! There was also air con but I assure you, we had no need for that. There were also two large terraces which we walked around then went back into the warm. Oh, and a centrally located, fenced in communal pool. We spent many hours swimming in it.... don't be silly, it was far too cold, but we did walk around it on our way to the shop and it was impeccably maintained.

We arrived too late for the on-site Spar supermarket so went down to the pseudo Irish bar and had a suitably large measure of JD to last us until breakfast.

After stocking up on breakfast things we tried out the well equipped kitchen and found everything you could need to self cater. Bath/shower worked great with plenty of hot water. Plenty of UK tv channels and reliable wifi. Comfy sofas and a great little book full of places to visit and eat, which was useful as at this point in low season La Torre was a little quiet on the food front. Still, if there are 4 of you, the local Indian will collect and deliver - YOU, not the food. How cool is that?

All in all a great apartment to stay. All communication before was straightforward and our deposit was returned swiftly.

We'll probably be living over there by the end of the year but will keep Ann's details handy for when we have visitors as this apartment is so close to the Spar and the bar/clubhouse it will make for a perfect stay.

20 minutes' drive to a number of child friendly beaches, plus a wide range of water sports.


Nearest airport San Javier, Murcia just 15 minutes away. Alicante Airport is a 50 minute journey. Airport transfers can be arranged. Car hire is not necessary if you wish to play golf, swim or generally relax. Car hire is essential if you want to explore the region and visit the local attractions. There is also a mainline train station 10 minutes' drive away.

Booking Notes:
There is an additional €60 local charge payable on arrival for laundry, final clean, Meet & Greet and assistance from local management onsite, irrespective of length of stay. Bookings are taken to and from any day of the week, and for how many days you require - minimum 4 days. Discounts are available for bookings of over 14 days and there are sometimes late booking offers available. Longer bookings are accepted, and bookings of 3 weeks or over are negotiable on price. A £100 non-refundable deposit is required on booking, with the balance plus a £100 returnable security deposit due 55 days prior to arrival. The security deposit is held by and refunded directly by Owners' Direct within 7 days of your departure date. Bookings can be made to & from any day of the week and for however many nights you require, with a mininum stay of 4 nights. Consideration will be given for shorter stays as late bookings. Arrival time 3:00 pm, departure time 10:00 am. If you wish to arrive early or leave later, then why not consider booking the extra day and arriving and departing at a more convenient time. We are unable to accept arrivals between 11.30 pm and 7 am due to restricted hours for the personal Meet & Greet.

Discounts are available for bookings of over 2 weeks, longer lets and for late bookings. Please enquire if no discounts are shown. Please note that the initial booking deposit of £100 is not refundable if a booking is cancelled. We advise all guests to take out adequate travel insurance.
