Why Christianne Douglas chose Fosciandora
Italy has the friendliest of welcomes where a halting “Grazie” with an English accent elicits praise. Not only are the Italians super hospitable they also know how to live well, and share their knowledge enthusiastically you will find a wealth of fabulous and well-priced wines, excellent cuisine laced with delicious freshly picked organic tomato sauces, homemade pasta and freshly baked bread. Succulent treats like truffles and Funghi Porcini are easily found; Italians are gourmands without the fuss. There is so much to do! from Etruscan, Roman and Medieval treasure hunting, to Olive Oil & Wine tasting, from Italian cooking lessons to eating the best ice cream in the world. You can walk for miles in the National Park or laze by the pool reading your favourite book. Italy IS la Dolce Vita

Our holiday was absolutely perfect in every respect. We had an amazing two weeks and we’re incredibly well looked after. The house and pool were beyond our expectations. We were only sorry that it had to end!
Great place and great service
It met/exceeded our expectations
Thank you for your candid review. We were so pleased you enjoyed your stay at La Collina del Sole and were able to enjoy trips to Florence, San Miniato, Greve, Portofino, San Giminiano and surrounding villages, while taking advantage of the infinity pool to cool down upon your return.
The team loved looking after you and enjoyed providing breakfast every morning, meals and of course the pizza experience!
You are always welcome and we join the team in hoping that you can return to make unforgetable memories!
See you soon !
It was a beautiful house. Our family enjoyed our stay tremendously. The pizza experience is a must! Lovely hosts.
Dear Julio: It was a true pleasure to welcome you and your family to the villa, and were so glad you were able to use la Collina as a base to see Lucca and Florence, and to enjoy the local cuisine! Thank you for choosign La Collina del Sole to celebrate both your and your son in laws birthday. We also appreciated watching your daughter Jacqueline's video "undone" on You Tube she is truly talented, and we will enjoy keepign up with her singing career. Arrivederci
We (a group of 7 women) visited at the end of September and were amazed at the beautiful site, the spacious and comfortable villa, the stunning infinity pool, and the friendly welcome. The weather was picture perfect and we spent a good part of every day relaxing at the pool. The villa is tucked away in the hills and the drive up is challenging (you are going up a mountain!). The lovely town of Lucca is nearby and well worth a visit. Gessica and her mom cooked a delicious Tuscan feast for us, and we loved the local produce and drank much red wine. The villa's grapes were harvested while we were there! Mosquitoes were a nuisance at night -- thank goodness for the mosquito nets on the comfy beds. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the villa is clean and modern while boasting incredible charm and gorgeous views out every window.. A truly lovely spot!
it was a pleasure to have you and your friends as guests, specially as you are so knowledgeable about food, so glad you gave such a fab review of Gessicas cooking and the local food shops. Do return we would LOVE to welcome you again Andy and Chrissie
Fabulous location, peace and very helpful local staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We did have a hiccup on arrival since the arrival instructions didn't mention a key safe or the code for it! A very helpful neighbour managed to get in touch with the cleaner/ custodian , who showed up in 30 minutes.
The weather was cool and wet at the beginning of the week so we enjoyed visiting the local towns of Castelnuovo and Lucca. On Wednesday the weather was perfect and so we thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous infinity pool and the Pizza experience in the evening. We took advantage of a cookery lesson on Thursday and the served 4 course dinner on Friday. All were excellent.
The owner's daughter was staying at their neighbouring property during the week of our stay and was so very kind in accompanying us on a walk in the mountains to see part of the Gothic Line , a disused marble quarry and Isola Santa, where we swam in the lake. There were lots of marked trails locally between neighbouring villages. These are excellent, but you need good footwear.
There were lots of mosquitoes around during our stay and we were glad that the villa provided mosquito nets. We took repellent spray and coils, but were still bitten.
We would love to visit again since there was so much to see and do and the property was so lovely.
Dear Frances, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at La Collina del Sole. Thank you for explaining that you were not aware of the Lockbox entry arrangements. We will make these more prominent and confirm with guests that they have understood the arrival instructions.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
