I moved to Moulin d'Arnac 15 years ago with my husband, and converted the old watermill into gites. Sadly my husband died11 years ago and I made the decision to stay here in this beautiful region of France . I've long had a love affair with France, and visited many times for holidays.I decided that I could offer comfortable and welcoming accommodation to fellow Francophiles. Most of my guests have returned numerous times and I enjoy meeting people from many different countries, all with different stories to tell. I am now very familiar with this region, and able to offer advice and assistance if required. Although I live on the premises, I respect the privacy of guests at all times and welcome families, and pets by arrangement. My own dogs are well-behaved and sociable.
Christine Jubb purchased this cottage in 2002
Quite simply, because this is the most beautiful place in France! The scenery is stunning, the climate is lovely and the locals are friendly. The villages are built of beautiful old stone, with hillsides green with trees and walnut orchards. The Corrèze is nowhere near as well-known as the Dordogne or the Lot, but the department neighbours both of them, and it's easy to visit the main tourist attractions of both departments (such as Sarlat, Lasceaux, Perigord, Cahors, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie etc).
The peaceful, tranquil and beautiful surroundings make Le Moulin d'Arnac a very special place to relax. The garden is a haven for wildlife, and many many birds, red squirrels and otters live here. You may well spot eagles, red kites or perhaps some wild deer and boar. The gardens are over 2 acres so there is room to play games or have a bit of peace without intruding on othert guests.
From guest book:
"Only wish we could have stayed longer,Fantastic place, realy warm welcome" The Newton family
" As ever Chris's warmth and generosity is second to none. The Moulin d'Arnac is a wonderful gem of a place"

My husband and I stayed in this property for a few days in July 2013. Compact but very clean and comfortable and everything you need for a short stay. Fascinating property in an idyllic setting. A good night's rest is assured by the murmur of the mill stream. Chris, the owner couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming and has larger lovely gites in the mill house as well.
This was a perfect apartment for us. Tiny but perfectly formed. The grounds are beautiful . We loved having our own little private terrace but also the large communal grounds and the pool which is an essential for any stay in France for me. Chris is a genuinely delightful host. She made our stay a real joy. Nothing is too much trouble plus she is a great cook! The equipment was all in very good order, we slept like logs and enjoyed our trips into Beaulieu which is a very charming town. The river adds to your options but we were very happy to do very little. The fact that we would love to return next year. Thank you Chris and your merry band!

Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is our nearest town. Raoul, archbishop of
Bourges founded a comunity here in the year 855 he was so enchanted by the beauty there that he called it" bellus locus" or beau lieu which means beautiful place in English. Don't miss the architecture in the old town. Then there are restaurants and cafe to provide everything from a light snack and a beer to a serious meal with an interesting wine list or have a romantic dinner overlooking the moonlit river. Go for a boat ride on the Gabarre, the boats that used to transport wood to Bordeoux to make wine barrels. Be energetic paddle a conoe, have a swim.Go on an organised ramble.
