About Alan Taylor
We are a married couple from SW Scotland in our early 50s. We both work seperately my wife as a pharmacist and I work in property development and rentals.We first visited Lagos with friends in 2006. Though it was only a 3 day visit we knew straight away that we would be back at some stage. (we bought the apartment a few months later) We try to visit Lagos as many times in a year as work allows and have had many enjoyable short breaks in and out of season to re charge our batteries.

Condominio Do mar was the first apartment we looked at and after viewing many more we decided that it ticked all the boxes for us. We liked the location due to the short walk to the beaches and town and also the night life.Whilst we enjoy the odd lively night out we also enjoy the peace and quiet of Condominio Do Mar, being able to relax and take in the fantastic view from our balcony. The security was also important especialy as some of our guests have young children.

Fabulous stay, the property is nicely furnished and well stocked with faboulous views over the pool, beach and Marina. My holiday was helped by fantastic weather. this property is just 4 doors from where my cousin lives so was a great location for me and very central for the beach and the town and Marina. I have used this property before and will definitely use it again, as has my cousin's sister. The whole complex is really well looked after, kept extremely clean and has security patrol 24/7 so very safe.

Exactly what we wanted. The property is ideally located, within a few minutes walk of the bus station, the railway station, the spectacular Meia Praia beach and Lagos marina. Good restaurants abound in Lagos; it's an ideal place for a winter break and the Condominium Do Mar is a really good and far cheaper alternative to a hotel. Would happily his property and will probably use it again ourselves.

Beautifully situated apartment close to Meia Praia with a beautiful view
We enjoyed 6 nights at this lovely apartment on the east side of the marina in Lagos. We were able to walk into the historic part of town, about 15 minutes away, where we enjoyed many good restaurants and interesting sites. The apartment was well equipped, and we enjoyed our breakfasts and evening glass of wine on the balcony with the view of Meia Praia .....where we could watch both the sunrise and he sunset! The only reason we did not give the apartment 5 stars, was that we found the beds too firm and uncomfortable for us. We were able remedy this by sleeping on top of the comforters. Thank you Alan . Meia Praia a sandy 3-mile stretch of gently sloping beach is only 10 minutes walk away with beach bars and restaurants open for lunch and evening meals as well as snacks throughout the day. There are other secluded unspoilt beaches along the West Coast. Grottos and coves, miles of cliff top coastal walks, from surf dudes and kite surfers to the skinny dippers and nudists - there are beaches for everyone.
By road: Lagos is approx 45mins drive from Faro airport. Taxi and coach transfers are available from the airport.By raill: Take a 7 euro taxi journey from the airport to Faro Station and catch a train to Lagos. It's a journey that takes about 1 hour by car/bus and 11/2 train . Lagos station is located behind the Marina and within walking distance of the apartment. Car hire is an option and is good value, especially if you want to explore further. contact owner for reasonable transfer details.
Portimao - 20 mins drive. Albufeira - 30 mins drive. Vilamoura - 40 mins drive. Burgau – 20 mins drive. Slide and splash water park – 30 mins drive.
The Municipal Sports Centre is a few minutes walk away and has a competition sized indoor pool and large state of the art gym. Classes are available daily. Excursions can be booked on the Marina ranging from sailing to power boating, from dolphin safaris to grotto trips and many more. Keeping our younger guests entertained is easily done with two water parks in the area, Zoo Marine - where you can swim with the dolphins, and Lagos Zoo with over 120 species of animal living in natural habitats. The Algarve promises a fantastic climate and year round sunshine. Lagos has something going on all year round. The historic Old Town with its warren of twisted cobbled streets contrasts its sophisticated restaurants with small local eating places tucked in the back of beyond. There is a restaurant to suit all budgets and tastes - you would struggle to find a bad restaurant! Jazz clubs, night clubs, bars, cafes, shops and boutiques blend with the mixture of historical buildings and Moorish architecture.

Booking Notes: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. Balance is to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of £100 is required towards the cost of damages/additional cleaning due to mess left/lost keys...this will be returned within 2 weeks of departure date upon satisfactory report from the management company. Changeover Day: Changeover day can be flexible. Generally the apartment will be available from 1400h on arrival and should be vacated by 1000h on day of departure. If possible, we will try to accommodate any reasonable variations on these timings. Notes on prices: Payment can be made in Euros or pounds please advise when booking.
