About Bruce Tulloh
Bruce and Sue Tulloh are both natives of North Devon. They have three children and seven grandchildren, which means that the cottage is often occupied during school holidays. Bruce is a retired teacher and is also actively involved in coaching runners, while Sue plays golf at Westward Ho!
Bruce Tulloh purchased this Cottage in 1970
Why Bruce Tulloh chose Instow
North Devon is where we spent our childhood, so we wanted to have a holiday home near to our parents. We love the scenery, the coast, Exmoor, and the towns - Bideford and Barnstaple.
What makes this Cottage unique
There is always something to do. In the summer there is sailing, golf, surfing, prawning. When it is less sunny we go for walks on Exmoor or cycle on the Tarka Trail. The beach and the sand dunes are a constant source of enjoyment for children.

Rustic cottage in unspoilt North Devon costal village.
Great location - close to bike trail and beach; unspoilt seaside village. The cottage is spacious, warm and un-fussy. There are some issues - an eclectic mix of beds (some of which were comfortable), ill-fitting windows and doors and a few problems with cleanliness. It was unusual to find so many of the previous occupants' belongings in bedroom and bathroom cupboards - this felt more like someone else's home than a holiday let. Its good points made up for these; - the kitchen is cosy, with a big table for family meals and a sheltered walled-garden. It is very practical for an active holiday, with space in the garden for bikes, canoes and surf-boards. The owner was very helpful.
Lots of issues, owner advised, that need to be addressed to be considered a rental property of more than 2 stars.
Online picture of lounge 2 easy chairs nothing like what is actually there.
The reviewer made a couple of points that will be rectified. We have received very few complaints in forty years of renting.
