Apartment in Benalmadena Pueblo, Costa Del Sol - Peaceful location in a mature setting , only 15 minutes from Malaga airport .

The apartment is part of a mixed development up on the hill overlooking Fuengirola. It is a second floor apartment with its own private roof area which which is as large as the apartment itself. Up here there is a purpose built barbecue where all the family or group can be entertained. It is also a great area to sunbathe or just watch the world go by below you. Here you have table and chairs, water hose and power point for music and lights. As we use the apartment ourselves quite a bit you will find some nice creature comforts such as 66 channel (inc Sky Sports) satellite, DVD player and a selection of CDs, iPod docking station and a couch that opens out into a double bed. The air-conditioning can put out cold or hot air which at certain times of the year can be a blessing. There are 2 powerful showers and a bath for a good old soak. If you have a car you can park right outside the door inside a security barrier.

My Name is Mick and i live on the West Coast of Ireland near a town called Sligo which is on the coast.It is a rugged but beautiful landscape which surrounds me but as with all parts of Ireland the sun is a very rare commodity.Hence my reason for heading to the Med.We are so lucky to have found this beautiful development and indeed this fabulous apartment.If you are planning to eventually buy in this sun drenched neck of the woods or just take a break you will love this area because it has everything.We can have you met at the airport and whisked away to your rooftop apartment in 20 mins.Come and join us you wont be disappointed.

Why Mick chose Mijas

Desire for the sun and the sea are the obvious reasons for buying here but when you get familiar with the place you just want to come back more and more.There is nothing nicer to know that when you come out of Malaga airport you can be sitting on our balcony overlooking Fuengirola i less than 20 mins.If you want to be in the thick of things down near the bars and the noise and the nightlife then this is not the place for you.Here you will live in a quiet community where tourists and locals live side by side.We wanted a place to chill out,not a high rise block,and yet be close to places to shop and socialise and we found it here.

What makes this apartment unique

What caught our imagination about this apartment,and im sure it will catch yours too, is the roof area attached to it.It is the complete area of the apartment below and is private to you only.Up here you can have fabulous barbeques and get togethers with friends and family or my favourite is coming up here in the morning and catching the early sun. We were completely sold on it when we saw it first and it has proved to be a gem to our holidays since.

Outside: Security is top of the list at Reserva Del Higueron. As you enter the complex you have to pass the manned 24 hour security hut and then there is a separate security barrier which allows you into our section. You will have a remote control to operate this barrier. The complete complex is covered with night vision cameras which relay live pictures back to the main control. No expense has been spared to make you feel safe and secure. The gardens and pools are maintained daily. Within the complex there is a country club and magnificent spa with an award winning restaurant. You can access the spa for an hourly or daily rate. If its peace and tranquility you desire its all up here. We are only a few minutes walk away just outside the complex to a large supermarket, restaurants and bars, newsagent,bank with cash machine,petrol station with all night shop, laundrette. Benalmadena old town is only a few minutes drive away with a large selection of its own shops, bars and restaurants. Utility Room: There is no separate utility area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels (including beach towels) and linen are provided. If you are a long stay resident and don't wish to do any linen washing we can arrange that for you.

Family with kids and friends

Staying at Mick's apartment and absolutely delighted. Stayed for 1 week with kids and friends . The apartment has everything you need in terms of appliances, air conditioning,pool, BBQ on the roof, etc. Free access for train to the town,beach.Very close access to supermarket. The apartment itself is clean, spacious, well decorated and an absolute bargain in terms of rental cost.Thanks for everything Mick and Richie. Wojtek from Sligo

You won't get a better, more helpful owner

Second time staying at Mick's apartment and absolutely delighted again. Stayed for 3 weeks this time and you won't get a more hospitable owner. The apartment has everything you need in terms of appliances, air conditioning, BBQ, etc. In terms of location it is spot on for us as we hire a car and the apartment is central to the motorway, Arroyo, Benalmadena and easy to head south. Mick is very trustworthy and no worries on that score as when you pay you can rest assured there will be no issues. Cath provides the welcome on arrival and is on hand if there are any problems - we stayed for 3 weeks and didn't need her as everything was in order. The apartment itself is clean, spacious, well decorated and an absolute bargain in terms of rental cost. All told no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mick and the apartment to others - I've already passed his details on to 2 friends and hopefully that doesn't mean we can't book again next summer!! Thanks for everything Mick.

Fantastic Apartment

We have stayed many times in Benalmedena Pueblo, in apartments and villas, Micks apartment has been the best, on arrival meet by Cath such a great person, the apartment was spotless, Cath told us all the area had to offer, where to shop, how to get to the beach and how to use the little train that operates in the complex. The apartment had every thing you could possibly want, great to have Wi-Fi, at no extra cost. The view from the terrace, lounge and bedroom was spectacular, we spent many happy hours sat with a glass or two! of vino. The area is very quiet and secure, great to have our own parking place. We were so impressed as soon as we got home, already looking to book again! Booking with Mick is so easy, and unlike other owners he emails back within a few hours. So cant wait to go back again and again!!

We stayed for 8 days at the end of March-beginning of April. From the very first contact with Mick (the owner). I knew we were onto a winner & it proved to be the case. Excellent communication leading up to the holiday and nothing was too much trouble. We've stayed in loads of apartments round the area and this was definitely the best. The area itself is really good, near a supermarket, handy for the motorway & close to Pueblo. Really quiet but very secure with on site security. Apartment itself is clean and has everything you need from TV to washing machine. The roof top terrace is magnificent and affords great views of the coast. Mick surpassed himself when we got there and found bread, milk, juice, wine & beer in the fridge - we have never had that on arrival before. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment for couples or families (we have kids aged 8 & 10). Great apartment, great owner and what more could you ask for. Also a handy British style pub (Wyns) within walking distance which just rounded this holiday off!

'Nothing is too much trouble'

We holiday frequently in this area of the Costa del Sol and have actually stayed at other properties in the Reserva del Higueron, but this apartment compares favourably with any we have known before and it has some features which make it even more desirable.

From a location point of view it couldn't be better. Whilst a car is necessary to travel farther afield (with a designated shady parking space a few paces from the door), if you merely want to spend days mainly sunbathing, then all the shops you will need are within 5 minutes walk and the beach is easily accessible using the little train which runs more or less continuously past the door to the promenade where Benalmadena and Fuengirola meet. If you are mobile then there are lots of places to see both along the coast and inland and you are perfectly placed roadwise to do either.

The apartment itself is lovely and because it is also used by the owner's family there are lots of useful 'extras' - books, games, beach stuff and lots of TV channels and an excellent WIFI connection , which we found particularly good as we use Skype a lot,. A really great feature though is the rooftop terrace with sunbeds, patio table and chairs and a purpose built barbeque. If you truly want to chill out you can sunbathe all day up there, enjoying the majestic views over Fuengirola and later, sit at night with a glass or three, just gazing at the stars and putting the world to rights.

The facilities of the upmarket club and hotel on the complex are a short hop down the hill and the old Benalmadena village with a good choice of eateries is just about walkable too.

We have never stayed anywhere with owners where nothing has been too much trouble and we were also made welcome by the friendly resident ex pat neighbours, who offered lots of useful information. All email correspondence with Mick has been dealt with by him promptly and informatively with much appreciated grace and charm.

Highly recommended and we can't wait to get back later this year.

Best view in Benalmadena Pueblo

We have stayed at Mick's apartment quite a few times now, which, in itself says a lot.

We have been staying in Benalmadena Pueblo for some six or seven years now, as it is a beautiful village and you would have to go a long way to beat it.

The apartment, unlike many, is not in a "Cell block H" type building but has its own front door, parking spot, and the best view you will find.

We appreciated the fact that home comforts like wifi; iPod dock; cd player; satellite tv are all provided at no extra cost and the well equipped kitchen means you can take less and wash clothes when required. As we stay for six weeks at a time it is very useful.

La reserva del higueron is not in the village itself but is very near to a bus stop, and the buses are very regular. We prefer to walk which only takes around 25 minutes. An excellent supermarket is also on the doorstep.

The apartment itself, again, unlike most, is very roomy and you are not falling over each other. Hence the continued visits.

Should any problem arise the owner Mick will be straight onto it and it will be resolved quickly.

This is the best apartment in this area that we have ever stayed in, and have no hesitation in recommending it very highly.

From up on the hill here its just a 20 minute walk to the beach below but you would need a taxi or a car to come back up. There is a 7km beach promenade where all life begins at nighttime.


A car is really a must if you want to explore beyond the complex.Malaga airport is only 20 mins away,the beautiful mountain village of Mijas about 15mins ,Puerto Banus is 20 mins and Marbella about half an hour.Longer excursions like down to Gibraltar is only an hour away.There is a daily train and bus service into Malaga city so you are never too far away from anything if the peace and quiet gets to you.

Further Details:

If you have the energy there is so much to see and do around here. Water parks, bullrings, cable car to mountain top falconry displays, karting and the Tivoli World theme park are all on your doorstep.

We require a 25% booking deposit (non refundable) and the balance must be paid 8 weeks prior to your scheduled departure date. Should the final balance not be paid we will assume that the booking is cancelled and will release the week(s) to other interested people. A €100 euro deposit is also required and will be returned once the property has been fully serviced. This is handed to Cath and Paul who will meet and greet you and return it to you on day of departure.
