About Olwen Strello
I love living in this wonderful part of North West Wales and am a bilingual speaker in Welsh and English .We have had a self catering cottage for at least 16 years and my husband and I know this area well having been brought up here .We are therefore able to advice you on local tourist attractions and sporting activities etc.The zip world experience in Bethesda is growing in popularity and everyone enjoys walking or taking the train up to Mount Snowdon- the highest mountain in England and Wales.North Wales in my view is rapidly becoming a outdoor activity mecca and there is also a wide range of local produce for quality food and local small scale breweries delivering an unique holiday !
Olwen Strello purchased this Cottage in 1996
Why Olwen Strello chose Caernarfon
We fell in love with the countryside and views from the cottage. The location is fantastic because you are within walking distance to village amenities but can enjoy peace and tranquility of the countryside and plenty of wildlife on our doorstep. There is private access to the riverbank and fishing is popular especially river trout. The Royal town of Caernarfon is within walking distance with may eateries and pubs and the Unesco Word heritage site of the castle
What makes this Cottage unique
Beautiful ground level cottage with kingsize bed, separate shower room and power shower, separate kitchen breakfast room and separate lounge with wonderful views of Snowdon and the riverbank.Private fishing and two new riverside gardens opened in 2019 to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life - enjoy a morning cuppa or a glass of prosseco by the riverbank.Unique features is the location - you do not require a car regarding transport every day you may choose between hiring the bikes, hiking along the cycle track or taking the Welsh Highland Steam train from the halt stop nearby.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Fantastic week away.
A warm welcome on arrival and a lovely cosy cottage well equipped and quiet. Fantastic grounds near to the river within easy reach of local attractions or just relax with a glass of wine. Highly recommended and we will be back again many thanks Bill&Karen.
A beautiful country cottage with all amenities in tranquil farm surroundings.
I could have spent the entire 4 days just sitting outside in utter peace overlooking the fields, river and mountains. Ideal central location within easy reach of Snowdonia, The LLeyn Penisular and the Isle of Anglesey. All of which we covered in 3 days. Bontnewydd village is within walking distance with well stocked local shop and Pub with restaurant. A local Take-away boasts Fish & Chips, Burgers, Kebabs and Indian!....but did not try it. The Hosts were very accommodating and have obviously put a lot of thought into providing a first class escape for their guests.

Stunning views of Snowdon
Had a relaxing 4 day break in Samuel Cottage. Glorious weather added to the delights of the surrounding area. Watched the sheep and baby lambs roaming in the fields and the buzzards soaring above the mountains and river. Even saw the heron by the river but not the elousive otter. Lovely place to stay.
