About Jackie Morgan
I fell in love with the Chateau and surrounding, spectacular countryside having visited the area on a number of occasions. As a real Francophile, it had been my dream to have a bolt hole in France, so I bought the apartment in 2003 and haven't looked back! It's a very special place, tranquil, beautiful and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of my busy life in the UK!

Superb, really fell in love with the area, le chateau and thanks to Jackie for her speed of response
Like others, the only reason this is not a 5 star rating are the stairs and the lack of window/view. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fabulous place and an experience we loved. The chateau definitely ‘draws’ you in. As long as you are relatively mobile, this place is great. The apartment is lovely, v tasteful so much so that we will certainly consider the purchase of an apartment next door! Hope to visit again - thanks Jackie, lovely ‘host’
Thank you so much for your lovely review Judi...it matters to me very much that my guests have a great experience...it’s such a special and relaxing place....I’m delighted you may even be my neighbour!
Lovely apartment for two
Saint-Laurent is in a very picturesque part of France - it is a great base from which to explore the surrounding areas. Lots to see and do if you want to or you can just laze by the pool / in the garden if you don't. The apartment is extremely well decorated, however it can be very hot in the summer. There are a number of stairs to climb so pack light! Plenty of space for two people. Kitchen has all the mod cons and the bathroom was really nicely done. Water is very hot! Rest of the chateau was lovely, there is a pool (but no shade), a big garden, tennis court and petanque area. The owner has kindly provided pool loungers and an outdoor table and chairs for your use. We will definitely recommend this apartment and the area.
Thank you so much for your review Faye... I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in our beautiful part of France!
A special find in Provence
We stayed in Jackie's lovely apartment in May...it's well-equipped, stylishly done and comfortable. The Chateau and its grounds are set in the most beautiful countryside and we were able to explore not only the local area which is absolutely stunning (don't miss the Lac St Croix and the Gorges du Verdon!) but also had a couple of day trips to the coast as well. We spent our time browsing the many wonderful markets in the area, playing tennis on the brand-new court and of course lounging by the pool! We were able to barbecue in the grounds in the evening and even fit in a game of Boules! it was the most perfect relaxing holiday and we hope to be back! It's rather a special find!
A wonderfully relaxing stay in a fantastic place. We particularly enjoyed visiting Lac St Croix (a short drive away) for swimming and soaking up the amazing views. The apartment is kitted out with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay - picnic boxes, BBQ, deckchairs, tennis racquets - and the chateaux is charming too (great to have a decent sized swimming pool) with the local restaurant just 2 mins up the road. 4* because we did find the studio a little hot (even with the roof windows open and fans on), but we were there at the hottest time of year. Highly recommended
The Chateau was an excellent getaway from all the city hustle & bustle. Great outdoor pool very quiet shared with other guests but this was actually very minimal during the stay. Fantastic outdoor space with room to have BBQ facilities for each apartment and not even be next to one another. The tennis court was a superb addition which was great to be able to play on. Good selection of videos (yes videos) & CD’s to choose from. The small town of Quinson was lovely and recommend trying one of their electric boats and dinning at Hotel Relais Notre Dame wonderful. All in all great time, do be prepared for the walk up the steps to the apartment certainly from the second floor up.
Not a bad negative but 4* only due to the fact the apartment does not have a balcony view which would give it 5*.
Thanks for the experience Jackie
a week in provence
Had a wonderful time staying in Provence using Jackie's lovely apartment as a base. I would thoroughly recommend the Chateau, the pool was lovely if a little cool at times! We mostly had it to ourselves. The surrounding areas offer plenty to do and see. We went to market days at Reiz and Aups. Then there are other attractions such as the Gorges du Verdon and plenty more besides. There is a little Pizzeria/restaurant 2 mins walk from Chateau that does lovely food. However if you require other places to eat then you need to go further afield. The lavender was in full bloom whilst we were there and it was one of our primary reasons for going. There was a fantastic lavender field a mere few mins walk from the chateau. If you like lavender then this area shouldn't disappoint. All in all we had a lovely time we drank wine, ate cheese and baguette, played tennis on the court at the Chateau, had days out, swam, watched videos till late in the evening and just relaxed. Wish I was still there! Go and enjoy!
The coast of the Cote d'Azur is 75 minutes away. Drive to St Maxime, take the little ferry across the bay and spend a lovely day in St Tropez.
Best airports are Nice and Marseille. A car is essential.
Aups and Riez are 20 minutes away, both have bustling markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Saint Laurent du Verdon is a tiny, peaceful village, situated in the midst of the stunning Provence countryside. There is everything you could possibly want to explore, medieval hilltop villages, the beautiful Lac Ste Croix for picnics, windsurfing, sailing, wonderful walks, cycling and riding, the spectacular Gorges du Verdon, perfumed lavender fields, thriving, colourful markets, wine producing Chateaux and good restaurants. The pretty market towns of Aups and Riez are about 20 minutes away with the elegant and sophisticated Aix en Provence just a 60 minute drive. The beaches of the Cote d'Azur are about 75 minutes and an easy day trip, or you may just prefer to relax at home by the pool.
