This lovely property is located in the Pine Valley sector of Rotonda which is the newest sector. The house has a SW rear aspect onto Pine Valley Creek, guests are welcome to fish from the river at the bottom of the garden on a catch and release basis. The accommodation has been well planned and clever furnishing provides a study with computer and WiFi - a very useful facility for guests who don't want to bring their own computer. The Great Room is light and airy with sliders that open onto the lanai. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a separate utility room. The dining area has a lovely curved window from which you can admire the pool and the creek. The bedrooms are a King ensuite with TV; a Queen with separate bathroom. Bedroom 3 has two single beds with an ensuite bath. Outside, the lanai has a large table with 6 comfortable chairs, a BBQ, sunbeds and bicycles in the garage. At the front, there is ample parking in front of the double garage.
As you predicted, we loved Kingfisher. The location was ideal for us. Not overlooked and with a view that encompassed wild life changing as you watched. It would be a shame if anyone built on the other side of the waterway and the direct view of the woods was lost. We walked the locality almost every evening, mainly into the dead-end by the Preserve. We met local dog walkers who kept us abreast of the local wildlife. We saw alligators, hogs, the local armadillo, tortoises and heard what could have been a young bobcat mewing. We were told there was a pair of bobcats in the area and we never saw any domestic cats, feral or otherwise. We only saw two dogs off the leash and both were next to their houses. There were birds aplenty, several hawks who would perch on the Lanais, (we lost our Lanai lizard after a few days, I wonder where?) and what was obviously a local family of Bald Eagles with a pair of adults and a juvenile, all flying regularly around us.
We did not travel very far, except for a trip to the outlets at Ellenton. We did get to most of the beaches and trawled for shells including sharks teeth. We did find some of our own. The beaches were reasonably quiet and we particularly liked Blind Pass with great parking and access to the water on the other side. We did not get on the water, one of our party was a very poor sailor but we did look with some envy at the islands we could not get to. As the holiday progressed we found out more and more and became ever confident of our surroundings.
Thank you for all your help. The information you sent gave us a great start in finding places of interest, including shopping spots although we never did find Sweet Bay, but we did find Farm Fresh for fruit and veg. We enjoyed Kingfisher and our holiday.
This very nice villa is located in a quiet location and has the added attraction of having a large pool/patio area overlooking a canal where we saw the local alligator each day along with other wild life. the villa is beautiful with good quality furniture and plenty of equipment. The three bedrooms each have en-suite facilities and the décor is very good. I have rented in Florida on numerous occasions and I consider this property to be a home first and rental property second as it is so well maintained.
The owner provided plenty of advice and info about all aspects of the area and I can recommend two restaurants we visited. One is the "Pink Elephant" in Boca Grande and the other is "Farlows" near the villa.
A visit to the Ringling Museum/Art Gallery in Sarasota is recommended (45min away) as is a trip to Punta Gorda.
It was so welcoming to see when we arrived at the villa an outside light had been left on for us, and also one inside.
We have stayed in six other villas in Rotonda and this villa is by far the best so quiet, peaceful and extremely well maintained and well equipped to a very high standard, especially the bed linen and towel. The villa is very light, airy, spacious and very clean inside and out, the pool is a great size and so well maintained. The view from the pool is beautiful,so relaxing of an evening you can sit there watching the sun go down, and watch the alligator swim pass or a turtle like we did on most evenings.
It is very quiet.
There are 2 bikes in the garage which we used most mornings.
The owner and the management team (Lisa) are very professional, friendly and extremely helpful.
We know the area well and love having breakfast at the local diner The CountryHound Cafe at the Palm Plaza off the S McCall Road. We also love going down to Manasota Key for a sun downer at Flounders Tiki Bar or the Lock n Key then dinner at the Lock n Key, The Gulf View. We also like Johnny Leverocks.
Cannot wait to return and would love to stay at Kingfisher again it was a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much for letting us use your wonderful villa 😊

Villa was as described in the details and was complete with all those little extras. The villa was clean and tidy and very spacious. We have stayed in many villas in Florida, and this by far had the largest pool. Great for those early morning swims watching the alligators in the river outside. Boco Grande was as lovely as ever with plenty of shell and sharks teeth collected. Great location for travelling south to Naples & the lovely Sanibel Island and north to Sarasota & Tampa (aquarium & Busch Gardens) let's not also forget the great shopping available in several outlet malls. Would certainly recommend this as a place to stay.
Our stay here was fantastic. From the get-go, the support we received from the owner and the property management company was superb. The house itself is clean and has everything (and more!) that is needed for a relaxing family holiday. The location might not suit all - it's a short drive to any supermarkets, restaurants, beaches or watering holes - but the bonus is the peace and quiet every night. Also, the rewards of making the journeys out to the excellent local eating establishments and attractions make all the trips worthwhile! It's certainly worth making the effort to Gasparilla Isle and the Englewood / Stump Pass beaches. We enjoyed the beachside bars, watching the sunsets over a glass or two of something cold! We especially enjoyed the feeling of 'getting "home"' after a day trip out to Tampa or Orlando. Overall, Kingfisher is an excellent place to unwind and recharge before going back to busy lives - thoroughly recommended.
We had a great time at the villa, everything was as listed, beautifuly presented and clean. Linda provided excellent customer service and the information packs were really helpful. You will need a car to get to the nearby attractions/shops and recommend Boca Grande for a visit and any of nearby golf courses.
On arrival at the Villa we were blown away at how beautiful it was, clean, tidy, lovely bedding etc. the villa was very comfortable, we enjoyed our 2 weeks there. it had everything we could possibly need, the pool was gorgeous. the location was great too, very quiet area, no noise what so ever, but close to lots of beautiful beaches and places to eat and shop. we will hopefully be staying at this villa again in the future and highly recommend it. we had a perfect holiday here and can't fault anything about it.
A short 15 minute drive will take you to several excellent beaches to the south and west. There is an up to date guide in the house with information on the local beaches, restaurants, shops, parks etc.
We have several airports within striking distance of our home.
Ft Myers (RSW) is accepting more flights and it is now easy to fly from Europe to Ft Myers with only 1 stop with US Airways and Delta. It is approximately an hours drive from the house.
Sarasota is a smaller airport, but just 45 minutes from the house.
Next comes Tampa, served directly from the UK by BA, this airport is roughly 90 minutes from the house. Orlando is 2.5 hrs drive and Miami a good 3 hours from the house.
Nothing seems to be measured in miles here, more like travel time! Almost everything is 15 minutes because of the great location that Rotonda has. You can reach restaurants in 5 minutes by car, Venice and Port Charlotte are 15-20 minutes and Sarasota is around 40 minutes.
Close by we have a baseball stadium (15 to 20 minutes from the house). In the summer, you can watch the Charlotte Stone Crabs play and for a while in early Spring, the Tampa Bay Rays use the stadium for their spring training. . We have 8 prime season ticket seats for home games of the Charlotte Stone Crabs, an affiliate team to the Tampa Bay Rays. It's a wonderful evening out, very American and much enjoyed by our guests.
A car is an essential here, but journeys are short. There are plenty of good restaurants and supermarkets. Port Charlotte has its own mall and there are Outlet Stores both north and south of us. Our In-House guide is kept current with the best loved local restaurants and our Management Company have a stand which is full of leaflets about places of interest. Whether you are madly sporty and want to golf, play tennis, ride horses, brave jetskies, kayak up the Myakka River or fish forever, our home is a perfect base for you.
There is almost monthly bull riding contests in the area, please ask for more information.
