Ideal for entertaining. Pool has a large sunny deck area, BBQ and outside dining area and a unique cave which can either used for dining or having an afternoon siesta away from the sun in a cool environment. There is also a unique pool bar in one of the caves overlooking the pool.

I live in Gozo with my wife and 3 children.We both work in Gozo. My hobbies are cycling, football and watching F1 grand Prix. I have been in this accommodation business since 2003.

Gozo is a jewel of an island in the middle of the Mediterranean with picturesque country side and beaches, good food and friendly people all within short distances.

Why Joseph Refalo chose Island of Gozo

This is a unique location in Gozo since it is situated on a ridge edge overlooking Lunzjata Valley, Gozo's only evergreen valley. Area is a very quiet one just few minutes walk from Victoria. Furthermore earlier in 2001 I had bought the property next door which I started renting out and could not resist the opportunity to enlarge my business by buying this adjacent property.

What makes this bungalow unique

This property boasts a big garden, pool and deck area which are sunny all day long since they are not shaded by other properties as they are located at the edge of a ridge. Property overlooks Gozo's only evergreen valley- Lunzjata valley. What a romantic evening drinking a glass of wine by the pool and watching the sunset!! or having a BBQ in such a picturesque place! At the same time this property is located at walking distance from the capital city, Victoria where the major shopping complexes, bars and restaurants are located. Wood burning fireplace, children's DVDs and toys also available.

Perfect villa, location, grounds and host.

We arrived very early Sunday morning and Joe had arranged a mini bus for our party which I would highly recommend if you are not hiring a car. Joe met us not long after we arrived and helped us with planning our holiday, giving tips on where to shop, what to do and where to visit. He even dropped us off at the supermarket our first day there.

The villa was just perfect. Clean and spacious with everything you need. The outside area was amazing. We had so much space, comfort and natural beauty. We loved the pool, the views and the natural cave. The villa is in a perfect quiet safe location especially if you do not want to hire a car, being only a 10 min walk from Victoria and its numerous bars and restaurants. The main bus terminus is there as well which links you to the whole island, including the harbour if you want to visit Malta or Cosimo.

Gozo is only a small island but there is so much to do and see. We would love to return some time in the future.

A hidden gem

We really enjoyed ourselves during our short stay at Lunzjata Mansions. The pool area is fantastic along with the beautiful garden that surrounds the area. The rooms were quite sizeable and really comfortable especially the living area and kitchen.

Special thanks to JOSEPH (the owner), who makes sure that the swimming pool is always as clean as a whistle and he's always a phone call away if you happen to need any kind of assistance. We are sll looking forward to revisit possibly this coming Easter. Thanks and keep up the great work☺

Amazing!!

We really enjoyed staying at this bungalow. The kitchen is very well equipped and the rooms are quite sizeable and comfortable with Wifi access throughout the whole place. The tidiness and cleanliness of the bungalow and pool are really impeccable. The pool area, its surrounding and the view is really amazing. Joseph, the owner is very friendly and extremely helpful. Looking forward for our next holiday visit in the near future.

Fantastic

Simply fabulous holiday in a dream accommodation . Location is stunning with breathtaking views of the lucrative valley just below. We used to wake up to the chirping of the birds otherwise just peace and quiet. The farmhouse villa is luxuriously finished to high standard but the most impressive is the pool and the cave. Yes it's a real cave in which a traditional stone oven has been dug out in the natural rock. The main cave leads to a secondary one and there u find yourself right overlooking the majestic pool. The pool was crystal clear and the owner checked it regularly and went out of his way to ensure that our stay was nothing less than perfect. Overall the best value for money holiday ever and the kids just cannot wait to return there again next summer

Great trip

I would truly recommend this property. The property catered for my every need and it was so beautiful waking in the morning and having a coffee in the gardens. Truly recommended and the host is very helpful and accommodating. Will be back again.

Disappointed

This property was very disappointing and not as described. It is not a bungalow but a downstairs apartment with two above looking down onto the garden giving no privacy. It states three bathrooms there was only one en suite to the main bedroom and the we all had to share a small shower/toilet room making it very awkward when getting ready to go out. The owner would appear in the garden on loads of occasions without warning to check out pool and the adjacent pool at the other property above. The outside was one of the prettiest I have seen but there were several tiles sticking up near the pool making it a trip hazard, the cave was coated with some sort of powder which constantly fell down stopping us from using this for eating in the shade. The inside of the property was very tired and needs a re-vamp, the dvd did not work as there was no plug and the kitchen had the bare minimum. The lounge was very dark and did not have enough ventilation so we had to leave the doors open for air but there was no mosquito net provided across the door so we were all bitten. We found broken glass under the seats and I found some pills on the floor of my bedroom which could easily have been eaten by the baby in our group. This is the worst place we have stayed in Gozo (we have been coming here for 16 years).

Owner's Response: I was really upset to receive this comment especially when, no member of this family ever complained about any of the listed shortcomings during their 14 night stay. The least they could have done was to inform me about the pills and broken glass. The house is cleaned before each guest arrives and, in fact, the guests did not complain about cleanliness. So, if the place was cleaned before, how could the maid have left these pills and broken glass? This place is not an apartment but a maisonette/bungalow. I cannot understand why they even complained about the fact that I had to check the pool and give it chemicals in order to keep it clean. This has to be done regularly especially when many people are using it. It was always done early morning and I did not disturb them as I had access to the garden and pool area through the garage, which is completely separate to the maisonette they were staying in. I had also informed them that I do this in the mornings. Yes, the property is overlooked, but it is really hard to find a property with such a big garden and pool area that isn't. The third bathroom which was mentioned is in the pool area and was used during their stay, so I don't understand why that comment was made. The cave mentioned is a natural feature of this property. The white powder is dust that falls from the rocks. The cave is cleaned before every occupancy but, unfortunately, I do not have control over dust forming and falling off afterwards. During their stay, this family used the cave regularly and even used the bar and fridges inside it to entertain guests. With regards the revamp mentioned, I am pleased to inform that this winter we will be installing a new kitchen and replacing some of the furniture as part of the ongoing upgrade of this place. I think that what led to this complaint was the fact that I drew the tenant's attention to noise they were making at night. They were inviting lots of friends over for BBQs and swimming, something which neighbours complained to me about. It all sounds like a puerile attempt at revenge for having been told off.

Xlendi bay is situated nearby with just a 20 minute walk from residence. All other beaches are about 10 to 15 minute by car. Bus terminus is just 10 min walk from residence and there is daily bus service to all villages, most beaches and Mgarr harbour from here.

Travel:

Mgarr Harbour is 10 min drive from residence and use of taxi, bus or car is recommended to reach harbour.

Distances:

Being located in the outskirts of the capital city of Gozo, all places of interest in the capital including the Citadel fortifications, museums, cathedral, churches, public gardens, shopping malls are at walking distance from residence. It is also recommended to visit these places of interest on foot to avoid parking problems in the city. Other towns and places of interest like the Neolitic temples of Ggantija are about 10 mins drive from residence.

Direct transfers from airport by taxi or minibus can be arranged. Reasonable car hire rates available on request with modern air-conditioned vehicles, 4X4, jeeps, Mpv and luxury cars. Motorbikes, quads and bicycles also available. Boat hire and day boat trips can also be arranged along with many other activities including horse riding, carriage rides, skippered boat trips and jet ski rides.
