About Leslie MacKenzie

My father's family were from this part of Edinburgh and my husband and I met as students there. We purchased the flat in 1977 when my younger sister became a vet student at the famous Edinburgh Dick vet school so she lived there for five years.

Now we live in Highland Perthshire but enjoy visiting Edinburgh for a refreshing change of scene.

Why Leslie MacKenzie chose Edinburgh

We purchased this flat because we loved its leafy location between the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links and within easy walking distance to the University. It was designed by Thomas Gibson in 1877 and is a Historic Scotland listed building.

We loved the large south facing windows, the generous sized rooms, the layout and the general lightness and airiness of the flat.

We also enjoy the vibrant Edinburgh cultural and entertainment scene.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is in walking distance of the attractive local Marchmont and Bruntsfield shops, restaurants and pubs. By bus or by foot across the Meadows the rest of central Edinburgh and its many venues are only a short distance away.

Inside the flat all bedrooms are adjacent to one of the two bathrooms and the large, sunny sitting/dining room makes a great gathering point for everyone in the flat.

The five bedrooms are all generously proportioned and the flat is built in the old style with high ceilings and excellent sound proofing between rooms and floors.

There is plenty of storage space, including for bicycles.

There is full gas central heating, parking directly outside the flat, polished wooden floors and free wifi. Recently refurbished.

Leslie is very kind. She answers to any questions quickly and thinks the best for the guests. The apartment is specious. It has five bed rooms and big living room. We could rest very well. Thanks a lot, Lesie!

A delightful flat near the University of Edinburgh.

This flat was just what we were hoping for. We had 8 adults and there was plenty of room to spread out. Leslie was great getting the keys to us so that half of our party could get into the flat before the rest of us arrived. The beds were comfortable with plenty of room. The only complaint we had was our daughter had a reaction to the detergent used to clean the bedding prior to our arrival. We were able to run the sheets through a rinse cycle and this solved the problem. We would definitely stay here again.

perfect location, excellent accommodations, fit the needs of our large family very well

large flat in a great location that's walking distance to University of Edinburgh, the royal mile and right next to two parks. beautiful, light view from the ceiling to floor windows in the living room and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a group of 8 or more. kitchen was very functional with a window for natural light and courtyard view. very good value. we would definitely stay here again.
