Best "Digs" we've ever had

  • 5 of 5

After a less than perfect journey, it was great to be welcomed by Sue the owner, and to find the cottage had everything we could have asked for. The welcome pack was superb, so it was great to be able to sink into a garden chair with a nice "cuppa", glad to be away from the M25/M26/ and M20.We particularly liked the fact that Sue was always a shout away, but never intruded. As for local attractions. Maidstone was fine except for the traffic. Hastings was seedy. Rye was great, lots of little alleyways etc. Tenterden was easy on the eye, and it had a steam railway. Tunbridge-Wells was nice, a bit pricey. Tonbridge was avoidable, and Headcorn aerodrome did a great mug of tea. Supermarkets?. Morrisons In Maidstone was no contest, and they had the cheapest fuel. A previous person said there were 2 pubs within walking. If you've lost the will to live, try walking along the A229!!. Use your car. Overall. Smashing place, and people.

Very quiet and well equipped cottage

  • 4 of 5

My stepmother and I had a lovely peaceful stay at this converted farm building set on a working fruit farm. We had everything we needed and the provisions supplied exceeded any expectations by far so you might not want to shop until after you have arrived! Beautiful sunset from the lounge. A great base for exploring the area. Friendly hostess. The local pub was very popular - lovely views - outdoor and indoor eating areas at this old building - food average.

lovely place

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with our 2 boys aged 9 and 11. It is a wonderful place in a beautiful part of the country lovely walks, old villages and pubs 2 in walking distance. The best welcome pack we have ever had including lovely toiletries.

The only reason that we havent given it 5 stars is due to the difficulty getting the temperature right it was too hot especially in the bedroom and couldnt seem to get enough hot water for full bath. However the owners were away when we visited so im sure they would have sorted if there.

Definitely will return, its lovely.
