Peak District Holiday Barn, Wardlow Mires, Derbyshire, England, UK - Centrally Situated In A Rural Location With Stunning Views Of Open Countryside In The Peak District

The Peak District Holiday Barn is a large self catering holiday barn comfortably sleeping up to 24 with 7 bedrooms over 2 floors including a king sized 4 poster bed. Recently converted to an extremely high standard whilst retaining many of the building's original features, the barn is the perfect venue for large groups of family and friends to stay together. It's ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding parties, stag/ hen weekends, family reunions or just a weekend get together. It's also ideal for corporate training courses and team building events during the week or over a weekend, with the large open plan living room and kitchen/dining room, ideal for hosting meetings, seminars, and workshops.

New for 2018 is a playroom complete with table tennis, table football, darts, a bar area and WCs, all of which are available for guests to use. For large events including weddings, corporate training events and parties, there is a newly refurbished timber clad barn 11m x 22m, with insulated flooring and lighting, which can be hired alongside the holiday barn.

The barn is a great base for walking, climbing, and caving, with numerous outdoor activities on its doorstep. It is fully insulated with gas fired central heating throughout, with plenty of drying space for any wet gear.

Our midweek breaks are great for smaller groups of up to 12 people, at £600 per night (£850 per night for groups of 24).

If you are staying for the weekend, you can book an extra night to extend your stay (either Thursday or Sunday) for half the price of a normal night; 2 night weekend breaks £2450, 3 night weekend breaks £3000.

About Amanda Gregory

I bought the peak district holiday barn as a long term project, and knew instinctively that it would make a great holiday venue. It had been derelict for a number of years, and with a background in joinery and building, I decided to restore it which took me 4 years. It is now a successful holiday venue popular with families, wedding parties, businesses and groups of hens and stags.

Why Amanda Gregory chose Litton

I am originally from Sheffield and have always loved the Peak District, particularly this rural location. The barn is situated next door to a farm, with open views and breathtaking countryside. However it is only a stone's throw from the village of Litton, and in close proximity to a number of villages, shops, pubs and restaurants.

It is a just a 20 minute drive from the city of Sheffield for a feel of city life, and also has a wide range of 'must see' locations on its doorstep, including:

What makes this barn unique

Originally a working farm barn, this property is now a modern and luxurious place to stay in and relax, developed with personal attention to detail. There are open views of the Peak District National Park, and a working farm next door.

There are 7 bedrooms with a range of options including a four poster room, double bedroom, double bedrooms with bunk beds, and bunk bed rooms.

The open plan lounge and dining areas take up the first floor, ideal for large groups sitting, eating and celebrating together.

The kitchen is very well equipped, providing a wide range of cooking utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery for every occasion.

The laundry and wetroom is ideal for muddy boots and wet clothes.

The barn has gas central heating throughout, and a multi fuel burner in the lounge area (with logs provided for the first night's stay).

Heating, lighting, bedding and Wifi are included, guests are asked to bring their own towels and toiletries.

The new wedding/party barn is a great addition, offering a huge open space for a range of celebrations, which can be hired alongside the holiday barn.

The playroom offers a big space to let off steam and includes table tennis, darts, table football, bar area and WCs.

"Fantastic and beautiful place for a big group stay"

There were 21 of us staying at the barn in September and we had the most fantastic time. It's really beautiful and we thought it was very luxurious. It's really well set up for big groups with lovely bedrooms and good bathrooms - the communal space is really lovely as well with a beautiful big kitchen/breakfast room and a lovely cosy lounge. We bought some more logs and did a BBQ, we also used the firepit outside which was lovely - we stayed around it til the early hours! Fantastic location, really great for walks and little trips, we did horse riding too. Would definitely recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful time at The Peak District Holiday barn for my Mum and Dad's Golden Wedding anniversary. It fitted the family in just perfect. We had a lovely walk nearby and spent to evenings catching up. Thank you.

Notes on accommodation: Check-in is available from 4pm, however we can very often accommodate a slightly earlier arrival time if convenient. Please let us know if your anticipated arrival time changes significantly, so that we can be sure to receive you and show you around the premises. Please try to keep us informed by calling 07791667027 (Mark) or 07525051226 (Amanda). Exit is usually at 12 noon on day of departure. Although the barn has been carefully designed to comfortably cater for up to 24 guests, during mid week periods we are delighted to accommodate smaller groups. We will be delighted to discuss any catering requirements you might have whether it's outside catering or simply a grocery delivery. Outside: Outdoor facilities include: plenty of off road parking to the front and rear of the barn for all 24 guests arriving in their own vehicles, a lawned garden with B.B.Q area, outdoor pizza oven and fire pit. Utility Room: Situated on the ground floor the utility room features a washing machine, large Belfast sink, Large table, 2 large radiators and plenty of drying space for all your wet gear. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, tea towels and cleaning equipment are provided. Towels are not provided. Please be thoughtful with lighting and heating and remember to switch all lights off when you leave. Other: The open plan kitchen/dining area retains many of the barn's original features including beams and exposed stone. With large farmhouse tables, a breakfast bar and plenty of seating, the area easily caters for large groups sitting and dining together.

A great place to stay for the weekend

Stayed at the barn with a large group for a friend's stag do. We were all amazed how big it was when we got there. Rooms were furnished superbly. One of my friends, who cooks a lot, remarked that for utensils and cooking equipment there was everything you could want in the kitchen. The place was very clean and tidy when we got there. A stone's throw away from a great village pub and a nearby walking trail up to a great look-out spot. A highly recommended place to stay if you're going to the Peak District.

A great place to hold a small party

Breath taking views. My son had a super time celebrating with friends. Barn nice and spacious. Would recommend for small parties.
