Two 2 bedroomed apartments- Relaxing location including terrace with a beautiful view and.offering loads to do close by
This has got to be one of the best locations in France for a family holiday. The two apartments are 100 metres from one of Europe’s top 50 beaches (The Independent) and overlook a beautiful lagoon, with the Pyrenees and Mt Canigou in the near distance. There is something for everyone to do in the close vicinity from the bustling port of St Cyprien to the famous abbey at Elne. You can catch a boat up to the artist village of Collioure or take a short walk to the Aqualand water park - and much more! The apartments are fully equipped, and each has a small combi oven/grill and two electric rings for cooking, as well as a washing-machine and iron. There is also a TV/ DVD player and a CD player. Close by are restaurants on the beach, a well stocked shop offering take away chicken, pizzas, etc. There is also a beach bar perfect for a 'sundowner!'

Amazing views and great beach
Absolutely beautiful holiday. I spent a week here last summer having stayed here every year for the last 3 years. I travel a lot but this place always draws me back. This place is for those who truly want to relax and get away from things. I spent evenings reading my book drinking fine wine and watching the sunset over the lagoon. The beach is spectacular and sea stunning. This isn't for the sort of place for people who like tourist package holidays with kebab and chips near by with people hassling you to buy souvenirs. It's class. There are restaurants within walking distance including a Michelin star. The town is a 10min walk or you can catch the small train but I find myself rarely going as there is so much around / other villages to drive and see such as Elne and the beautiful cathedral.
Nearby is go karting, horse riding, white water rafting, water park, walks in the Pyrenees. I take the boat too Collioure for the day and sit a a restaurant in the small harbour drinking sangria and listening to musicians. It is a bustling place then I return to the tranquility here. It has the right mixture of easy to get up and go or just relax. If my wider family come we spend evenings playing rounders / football on the beach. It really caters for all ages
The beach is vast with a good beach bar / restaurant with stunning views and behind you are the mountains. I find the apartments well contained with influences from the Catalan art on the walls. I've had many lovely evenings eating on the balcony. Look forward to my next visit!
A tranquil paradise
My wife and I booked 2 apartments from the owner and had a wonderful time. We were joined by our family so had a cross section of ages (young children to grandparents) and we all enjoyed the accommodation and surroundings area.
The apartments were as described and were the perfect base. They are clean, well furnished and spacious enough for a 2 week stay (particularly apartment A03). We were particularly pleased that the kitchens had a full range of utensils etc so that we could cook on an evening (several places we have previously stayed did not provide enough).
The views from the balcony are stunning and are perfect for al fresco dining and evening drinks. The balcony accommodated all of us who were staying in both apartments, which was perfect.
The local beach is only a 2 min walk and is stunning. Huge and very clean. The beach bar is well worth a visit too.
The owner of the apartments was very helpful throughout the booking process and picking up the keys was quick and easy.
We will all be back lovely St Cyprien!
Superb apartments make for a great time!
I've had the pleasure of staying in each of these two apartments.
5 mins walk to the local bakery for croissant in the morning, then even less of a walk to the beach.
Hire a car and have quick access to local towns, shopping and culture aplenty! Adventure activities too, for those inclined that way!
Great to sit and relax on the balcony enjoying fresh local food with a glass of chilled local white wine, as the sun sets over the lagoon.
Or enjoy a walk in to St Cyprien itself to enjoy local restaurants.
Great times all round. Highly recommended for relaxation, seeing some lovely parts of the world and getting a bit active occasionally too!
Apartments were well looked after and prepared immaculately for our stays.
Breathtaking view over lagoon
OK gin and tonic on the terrace, watching the sun go down over a sparkling lagoon is about as good as life gets. To the right are the sparkling lights of St Cyprien and ahead the brooding massive Mt Canigou.
Great modern apartment, providing a great place to explore from or just chill on a classic Med beach
We arrived on 9/8/14 and were so disappointed with the apartment. It is tired-looking and not particularly inviting. The bathroom and separate toilet are shabby with both fans not functioning. The sofa-bed has no sheets, only duvets and pillows which have yellow stains. We immediately tried to contact the owner but had no response. Quite a coincidence really! There is only one restaurant on the beach. The rest are about 2.5 miles away - not within walking distance with children. There are no watersports except jet-bikes. There is also a yappy dog underneath the apartment which barks morning, noon and night. The swimming- pool across the road has no sun-loungers so you have to lie on the concrete.
Would definitely not return or recommend.
The listing description is certainly not correct and the owner did not provide any customer service.
We are very sorry this holiday has not gone well for you. It is the first major grumble since we started renting the apartments a few years ago. The major problem seems to have been that you could not get hold of us. Normally we have two points of contact: ourselves and the local cleaners who are very helpful. I can’t really work out why you could not get hold of either of the numbers, we will investigate further and apologies for the problems it caused. As for your specific complaints, we are sorry you could not find the restaurants. The nearby hotel, La Lagune has an excellent restaurant (about 200 metres away) and beach bar / snacks. On the beach itself, just at the closest point where you gain access from our apartments, you can eat at the Wakiki Bar and restaurant, and behind the local store is a ‘cheap and cheerful place’, great for kids serving takeaway pizzas, paninis, frites etc. There is a fantastic restaurant ‘La Main a la Pate’, a longer walk away (about 10-15 minutes) and plenty of restaurants at Les Capellans, a 20 minute walk around the lagoon.
Most people prefer the beach for sunbathing where there are plenty of sun-loungers for hire at the Wakiki beach bar but there are a couple of low beach chairs in the cupboard in the living area of the apartment, which guests are welcome to use. The linen was recently replaced and sheets were provided and we are sorry you had trouble finding them. And as the pool itself is private for residents, you are able to bring beach chairs to sit on, but actual loungers are not left there. However, the surrounds of the pool are nicely tiled , not concrete as you say, and it is clean and a refreshing place to swim.
We love this corner of the world and are sorry that you have not enjoyed similar enthusiasm.
Coast/Beach: The beach is about 100 metres away, just a 2 minute stroll over the dunes. Miles and miles of golden sands stretching almost to the Spanish border with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop. The beach is cleaned every night, is safe for swimming and St Cyprien provides a variety of water sports, from dingy sailing to jet skiing, the latter being on the beach by the apartments. The Independent has rated it as one of the top 50 Mediterranean beaches. Travel: Nearest airports include: Perpignan-35 minute drive Carcassonne- 80 minute drive Gerona-80 minute drive Distances: Saint Cyprien village- approximately 1 kilometre Collioure- approximately 15 kilometres Perpignan-approximately 10 kilometres The tet valley: Prades- home to the Pablo Casals music festival Villefranche- medieval , walled town with castle up on the mountainside. The village is connected to the castle by an underground tunnel- 800 steps- descent only! The Little Yellow Train leaves here(narrow gauge) and takes you up into the mountains. St Michael’s- beautiful cloisters St Martin’s- again beautiful but the final approach is half an hour on foot, but well worth it for the views. The Tech valley: Arles- great walks Ceret- home to Picasso for a while and a museum/art gallery In Spain: Gerona Cadaques-SalvadorDali connections Figueres- again Dali connections Barcelona- I suggest that you drive to the station at Figueres then take the train into the heart of Barcelona; or enquire at the Tourist Office at the far end of St Cyprien harbour as day coach trips do go to Barcelona, but book early. Carcassonne Narbonne Nearby- Elne- beautiful cloisters Collioure-castle; home to the Fauvist painters, Matisse (you can get the boat from Port Argeles into Collioure) Port Vendres Banylus and Cerbere- last on the coast before Spain Near the apartments, there are several horse riding stables, watersports on the beach and at St Cyprien harbour and Aqualand! Argeles has a bowling place, and outdoor water adventure park- bouldering. Go-karting near us and also at Argeles (for younger children). The Cathar castles Walking in the Pyrennees. We climbed the Canigou last year; you have to hire a 4 wheel drive taxi from Prades to take you up in the mountains to a refuge. From there it is about 2 hours to the summit. Views are fantastic; we saw eagles there… Ask at the tourist office in St Cyprien Harbour for telephone numbers for the ‘taxi’. Perpignan old town is a place to visit on a Thursday evening; the old streets are full of jazz bands, drama groups etc. These are just some of the places we’ve explored and I’ve left leaflets in the folder in the apartment; please do feel free to leave leaflets and recommendations of days out which you have enjoyed.
