About Di Collingswood
Hi, I'm Di Collingswood, I've lived & worked here at Capri in Dartmouth for 13 years with my architect husband Nigel and cocker spaniel, Bella. We work from a studio here at Capri. Dartmouth has a unique charm, a magnetic appeal; when I am away from here I cant wait to return. Apartment Avanti was designed to be incorporated within our house but have its own separate entrance, patio & self catering facilities. The improvements here have taken 2 years and I hope you will be suitably wowed! You are assured of a peaceful and relaxing holiday here at Avanti and know that you will fall in love with Dartmouth as I did. Being able to walk into Dartmouth, park and sit outside you wont have a dull day or be disappointed. I look forward to welcoming you!
Di Collingswood purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Di Collingswood chose Kingswear
I love not having to use the car as all the facilities I need are within walking distance, parking outside our house in a quiet road is a bonus & having a sunny aspect. The apartment is continually maintained with regular decoration and improvements. The kitchen is immaculate and has all the equipment you will ever need. There is a new (2017) Hypnos double bed in the apartment and we have many repeat guests who return year after year. The patio is very sunny and has a great view of the river and the owners are extremely friendly and have great local knowledge. The Dartmouth Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta bring the community together, they are unmissable unique events. There's always plenty going on in the Summer but the Winters are quiet, time for beach walks and log fires in pubs with old world charm. Mild Winters, sunny Summers breathtaking Devon countryside and coastline, cream teas, crab sandwiches, chocolate box villages, river trips, surf on the shore; whether you are visiting for the first time or returning after many years you will find Dartmouth charming you back for more.

Hi Gina and Colin, thank you for your lovely review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay here at Avanti over New Year, although weather not great. Its nice to know you were extremely happy in the apartment and I do hope to welcome you here again.
Our 3rd stay in Avanti and everything was as pristine as usual! A lovely apartment very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Di and Nigel were as friendly and helpful as ever.
It's a steady walk into the town and takes about 10-15 minutes depending whether you're going up or down hill.
We were there in Regatta week and it was fantastic, so much to see and do. We would recommend booking restaurants at busy times though.
We look forward to visiting again in the future and wouldn't look to stay anywhere else.
We loved having you both here again and for Regatta too, such a special week here in Dartmouth I know you really made the most of all the events and loved every minute. Thank you for visiting and we really hope to welcome you here again in the future too.
Clean, modern and great for a relaxing week
Met by the owner on arrival, very helpful and just a lovely person. We had no problems at all whilst we were there, loved the swanky bathroom, never cooked but the kitchen was good enough to have done a Sunday roast for a family! It was great to have more than enough glasses and cups so we didn't have to wash up every time we used 2 , a lovely stay, lots to do around Dartmouth and the town had lots of good places to eat, never had a bad experience. Cant fault the accommodation or the town.
Great property in every way
Had a week away with my wife whilst kids away, great location for walking and seeing some fantastic National Trust properties. Dartmouth had lots of places to eat and drink in the evening too so I never had to drive in the evenings.
Property was very clean and all looked new , the bathroom was great as I could lie down and being over 6 ft that is rare! Great views over the town but very quiet at night. I would recommend this property to others.
Thank you Kevin again for your great review, I do appreciate it as I know prospective guests do too.
