About Helen lawlor

My Husband and I have been Skiing and Snowboarding for over 30 years, I first came to Morzine 20 years ago for a ski holiday with my family and have been coming back ever since! I have also worked in the Ski and Snowboard industry in the UK for over 17 years as a Retail Store manager, Buyer and one of the Directors of a family run Business. It was always a dream of mine and my Husbands to one day live and work in the Alps, and of course Morzine. When a opportunity arouse in 2009 we of course jumped at the chance and started our search for the perfect property. To begin with it was never our intention to find a property that had rental potential, but when we saw Farmhouse La Salle we just new it was right for us and that we could also share it with friends, family and now guests.

Why Helen lawlor chose Morzine

Morzine is a picturesque, traditional Savoyard town with plenty to offer both Winter and Summer. Morzine/Avoriaz boasts some of the best Skiing in Europe if not the world. Situated in the Portes Du Soleil, one of the worlds largest linked ski areas, with links to the nearby Swiss resorts of Morgins and Champery and the french resorts Chatel and Les Gets. Suited for all abilities and ages, Skiing or Snowboarding. There is also plenty on offer for non Skiiers in and around the center of town with some fantastic shops, restaurants, local market and crafts. A visit to Morzine in the summer should not be overlooked, with its stunning scenery, short or long hikes can be taken on well marked trails and of course Mountain Biking which now Morzine and Les Gets is world known for.

What makes this apartment unique

Farmhouse La Salle as the name suggests was originally a Farm owned by the Grorod Family for generations, it is one of the oldest properties in Morzine, and a date over a doorway on the ground floor reads 1786. Its was in the 1920's that the 1st floor extension was added as the family grew. In more recent times the property was divided into half, the other half is now run as a quality hotel by a french family. Very little has changed in our half of the property in recent years, there are still 3 caves, the original farmhouse on the ground floor and a huge barn to the rear of the property. Over the last year we have been slowly renovating, we want to bring the property into the 21st century without losing any of its period features and charm. We hope to see you in the near future.

Very welcoming and warm apartment in good location with lovely views. Had all the facilities we needed – Wifi, Sky TV, comfy beds and good hot showers. Tastefully decorated in the French rustic style. Owners from below were extra accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.

Lake Geneva-Evian by the the lake is beautiful in the spring and summer and worth a visit, within 1 hour drive.

Notes on accommodation: Weekly rental Saturday-Saturday, although we can be flexible with dates. We also offer weekend breaks Wednesday-Monday. Please contact us for prices. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Price includes down/feather duvets and pillows, bedspreads, blankets and fresh linen. Linen is changed weekly. Bath & Hand Towels, are also included. Cleaning is included, although we expect you to leave the apartment clean and tidy on your departure. Other: Ski and snowboard locker/drying room.

We used the apartment for 2 weeks and found it very pleasant, comfortable and cosy and perfect for our young family. Great views from the balcony and the owners set up the room arrangements perfectly.

A great find

We spent a superb week in this lovely apartment in Morzine, perfect for us and our two teenagers, with the best sunny balcony in town. Clean and well appointed with extremely helpful and accommodating owners. We would definitely return for another stay.

Spacious apartment for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens), warm and comfortable, and the cosiest beds we have ever slept in away from home. The ski store/drying room is particularly useful.

Easy walk down into town, and bus stop less than 100m away if you want an easier option. Morzine has loads of restaurants for eating out, but still advisable to book ahead when it's peak season e.g. February. The ski area is really accessible, and the new fast lift from Les Prodains to Avoriaz is super efficient and removes any worries about lack of snow at lower levels that used to be a consideration if going to Morzine.

We've already re-booked to go back next year!
