La Crestellina is an immaculate well appointed town house offering spacious and comfortable accommodation. It has great views from the terrace of the village of Gaucin, the Crestallina mountain and the sea beyond. The house has all modern conveniences including aircon and Wi-Fi with a beautiful shared swimming pool. There is a spacious entrance hall and integrated single garage (very useful in the summer months when parking is at a premium and your car can be kept cool). There are two light and airy bedrooms on the next floor, one twin and one double, both en-suite. The upper floor opens onto a stunning kitchen and living area with terrace and views. There is also a beautiful private dining terrace leading to a further self contained annex with double en-suite bedroom and small living area.

We are a family of four living in Berkshire. Helen is an accupuncturist and Clive is a Project Director for a Construction Company specialising in energy efficient school buildings. We have two children at home aged 15 and 11.

Why Helen Attwooll chose Gaucín
Gaucin is a very special place and is far removed from the typical Costa resorts. We have been coming here as a family for the past fifteen years and enjoy the combination of typical Spanish daily life and holiday relaxation. The village is friendly and welcoming with enough variety of bars and resaturants to satisfy most tastes. The majority of our guests at La Crestallina feel the same way as we do and return year after year.
What makes this House unique
Our house is a wonderful combination of modern convenience and home comforts. It is set in a quiet location at the edge of the village and within 5 minutes walk of the local shops, bars and restaurants. A major benefit of the location is off street and garage parking which is rare in the village. The house is light and airy in the summer (aided by aircon) and warm in the winter (full electric heating and a log burner). La Crestallina is our 'home from home' in Spain and as such we visit several times a year and ensure it is well maintained and equipped.

We stayed here 2 weeks with another couple and despite the rain had a great time. The area is very scenic and Gaucin is central to a lot of interesting sites. Enjoyed the apartment and the owner is very easy to deal with. Many thanks!

We spent a wonderful week at La Crestellina. The house is so beautiful and so well equipped to host our family of three generations! Perfect for children. Thanks Helen for having such an easy communication and to worry about making our stay so great.
We already knew Gaucin. It is a really beautiful and peaceful spot at the end of the Serranía de Ronda with majestous nature and incredible views, el balcón de la Serranía!

As you will no doubt have discovered Gaucin is full of narrow, slightly steep streets however we always find the benefit of walking up on the way out is that it is a gentle stroll home after a night out!

Beautiful spacious home with amazing views
We absolutely loved our stay in Gaucin at La Crestellina. The house is beautiful and immaculately clean. We were a party of 5: one 11 month old, 2 parents and 2 grandparents, and the house was perfect for our needs. Baby loved crawling around in the spacious lounge and all the toys provided. Grandparents were in birdwatching heaven with eagles and vultures spotted from the balcony within 10 minutes of our arrival. The village is great, lovely deli 3 minutes walk from the house which supplied several dinners for whichever couple drew the short straw and did the babysitting. Lots of nice tapas bars and we had fantastic meals at La Fructuosa and Platero & Co.
Helen was very helpful and friendly via email, and everything about our visit went really smoothly. The house was so well set up for a family with a baby- excellent off-road pushchair, loads of plastic kitchenware and very solid stair gate!
We hope to return some day- thank you!

Stunning- great apartment,beautiful location&views
What a lovely Appartment; well appointed and very. spacious. The highlight is the view - seen from the bedrooms and the large open plan lounge/kitchen: truly stunning. We were a party of 6 which included a 5 year old. The attached studio bedsit was perfect for the little one and her Mum, having its own bathroom and lounge area. Two further double bedrooms and a bed settee provides plenty of sleeping options.Nice swimming pool and a very private elfresco outside dining area. We would defffinately recommend this apartment. The area itself is beautiful and the village is perfect if you want to sample the local lifestyle having a good choice of bars and eating options. Too many to get through in a week so we suggest you book for at least two weeks.

Beautiful, clean and spacious house
Really enjoyed our stay here. House is spacious and very well equipped. Great views from the balcony and pleasant outside eating area. Pool is shared, but it was never busy, even in the middle of August. Excellent public pool nearby as well. The owners also provided some really useful information about the surrounding area with lots of good recommendations. Gaucin was a pretty white, mountain village with what felt like, in August at least, a high proportion of expats and tourists (mainly British). We could only get local TV channels, so families might want to come prepared with downloads. Change of linen also did not happen after the first week, but I am sure it would have been had we prompted the house manger. Overall we had a really good holiday and would recommend the house to others wanting to base themselves in this area of Spain.

We are in the process of resolving this problem but hope that you found some of the DVDs to watch instead. The closest beaches are 30 minutes drive away at Estepona or Sabinillas and offer sandy child friendly bathing. Further down the coast are windsurfing and kite surfing centres at Tarifa.
Flights from the UK to Malaga and Gibraltar are the most convenient but car hire is fairly essential.
Ronda 40 minutes by car.
Estepona 30 minutes by car.
Marbella 45 minutes by car.
There are two banks in the village with cash points along with a pharmacy, one large supermarket and several smaller supermarkets and shops, a doctor and dentist etc. The village has a vibrant local community and celebrates many of the local and national fiestas and ferrias such as the famous Toro del Cuerdo at Easter.

These charges only apply if the owner does not find a replacement tenant for the same period. The house can be available outside of mid and high season. Please contact the owner with your enquiry. Changeover Day is Saturday, although out of high season this can be a little more flexible. Departure by 10.30. Arrival not before 3pm
