Sophia and Roy May purchased this cottage in 1996
The farm is in a peaceful location in lovely Devon countryside but near to everything that you could want. North Devon is one of the few unspoilt areas of England, where people are friendly, the air is clean and you can still see every star at night. Our house and cottages are very old and the site dates back to the Doomsday Book. We just love it here and we hope that you will too!
the best thing about living here is there is no passing traffic, just peace and quiet. It is a place where you can do what you like, with no neighbours, no street lights, no pollution, just nature at its best.

Property was lovely with plenty of space for all of us. The kids loved the swimming pool. We really enjoyed our stay.
Without a doubt one of the best family holidays we have had.
Truly 5 star boasting a heated indoor swimming pool that actually is heated to a comfortable degree and only 4 ft deep accommodates all the family.
The cottage has been expertly converted and no expense spared on the fixtures & fittings, it has everything you need (a home from home) .Like the pool the heating in the cottage is amazing, nice to have hot baths, proper showers and heated towel radiators.
To top it all I caught a cracking common carp in the lake, and the weather for October was brilliant.
Sophia was very welcoming and on hand if needed.

Just returned from a family weekend away with our 2 sons and their families (grandchildren aged 4 months 3 & 5) Meadow Cottage was perfect - great to have the heated swimming pool - we all enjoyed morning swims. The wooded walk and lake were super too. Sophia was very welcoming and available if required but not intrusive. The local pub at Roborough is a must - very friendly and the food is delicious. Seaside resorts for days out fairly accessible too. Thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing UK break.
Five of us had a great week in Meadow cottage. The facilities are lovely and the owners very friendly. Plenty to see and do in the area. The pool was great.
Our weather was good so cannot comment on heating but everything else was just fine. The fishing was good and you really had to think about how to catch them. We had plenty out with tench (3lb), perch (2lb), and carp (14lb). Would recommend this stay. Roger S
Sophia and Roy made us feel very welcome.Meadow cottage is a stunning place to stay with lovely views from the rear garden. The cottage was spotless on our arrival and the swimming pool was excellent. I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a bit of luxury in north Devon. We will certainly be returning
Can't speak highly enough about this wonderful let, we received a very warm welcome from Roy and Sophia, the location was very rural and felt very safe for the children (all aged 3) it was lovely to wake up to rolling fields filled with sheep.
The Cottage was very clean and well maintained (we all loved the underfloor heating especially) and the swimming pool was a lovely treat for the kids, it was always pleasantly warm and also very clean.
Loads in the local area for the kiddies to do, and a lovely local pub for the grown ups.
We will be back!
A haven set on an organic sheep farm. Beautiful countryside with stunning views. Enjoy the stars in the clear night sky. Try the adventure of our woodland walk. Catch a giant carp or just enjoy the peace and quiet beside our lake.

The beaches in North Devon are amongst the best in England and the area has been recognized as having environmental importance and has been delegated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve.

Buying local food in Devon is an absolute pleasure as we have some of the best quality produce in the country. Try a Hockings ice cream or local beef and lamb. Sample a different pub or restaurant each day as there are a wealth of traditional country pubs and restaurants serving exceptional food, beers and ciders.
