About Dave Gray
Gina & myself are both living & working in the UK, (Rainhill, Merseyside). We bought the villa about 7 years ago and have enjoyed our holidays there so much and when we have rented to family & friends they have been so pleased we thought we should offer to you. It is our plan to spend some serious time in Kissonerga when we finally retire, but in the meantime we are happy to share our gorgeous villa with you.
Dave Gray purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Dave Gray chose Kissonerga
We looked at numerous villas and villages around Paphos before settling on Kissonerga. It caught our hearts on our first visit. It was and still retains what we think of as a traditional Cypriot village. It has traditional coffee shops, and tavernas, so you know that you are in another country but mixed in are all the amenities that are needed for a super modern holiday. Most of them within walking distance.

Perfect for a relaxing break.
Our second time to the villa and it was as beautiful and relaxing as the first time. Great location - 10 minutes (by car) from the gorgeous Coral Bay beach - 10 minutes from a good supermarket. Within walking distance of the local village with good bars/restaurants and small supermarket. Try Melios Kebab and grill. Great food and very good value. Eat in and take out. Villa is spotlessly clean with everything you need. Dave the owner is quick at responding to questions and has a really good knowledge of the area. We will return again. Fab!
Family stay for summer break
Family of 6 stayed here for 2 weeks. We had a great time and the villa is just as described with lots of room for everyone and the pool was great. The local village has a great bakery and restaurants to choose from. A short drive or walk away is the costal road and you are spoiled for choice with places to eat or have a few drinks, with beautiful views over the bay.
A trip into Paphos or coral bay is a must and we also took a turtle watching boat trip.
Overall I would recommend this villa to all and we would love to rebook again, maybe for Easter next time.
Thanks very much for your super review. We all love to hear that you have enjoyed the villa as much as we do.
Love to have you back & Easter is usually a lovely time, not too hot.
Holiday in Kissonegra
This is a great location, easy access to Paphos the village has shops, restaurants and bars just a short walk away. The house and its contents are all in great condition and the pool is a delight. My two teenage kids made friends with some local teens and we all became very friendly with the owner of the local Taverna. We had a really enjoyable holiday.
We were very impressed by the villa, it’s beautifully presented, private and clean with great facilities.
Easy access to the supermarket and several local restaurants.
We were there to relax which we did, read lots of books, swam in the pool, enjoyed BBQ’s two nights of our stay.
Grateful to have both bath and beach towels available in the villa. Being able to do our clothes washing whilst away meant no need to do it once home plus point for me.
A car was a must to get to larger supermarkets, to have a wider choice of places to eat and to explore the local area.
Wonderful first villa holiday for our family.
Hi Kirsten, thanks for your super review. As you say a villa holiday can give you so much more than a hotel stay. Look forward to you returning in the future. Dave
NICE VILLA IN A QUIET LOCATION
Villa was very nice, clean and tidy and in a quiet location. Dave the owner sorted out a few issues we had very quickly. Pool excellent but the outside rattan furniture is very worn and not comfortable especially the arms.
Hi Janet, sorry about the condition of the outside rattan furniture. It is only 18 months old but seems to have deteriorated very quickly in the last couple of months. I was thinking about getting covers for the arms, but seems that it needs to be replaced.
If you ever want to stay again pleased get in touch.
Kind regards & take care
Absolutely lovely holiday
Loved the villa. Nice quiet town but only about 15 minutes to Coral Bay and Paphos on the bus. £5 gets you an all day ticket on the buses. Good restaurants in the town, try the meze at Melios, make sure you are hungry! Would definitely recommend the villa and will be going back. Dave, the owner, very helpful always available if needed.
Special interest holidays:
Paphos, an UNESCO world heritage site, is the ancient capital of Cyprus and former fishing port the often accredited as the birthplace of Aphrodite. The ancient sites and archaeology preserve this noble past and the harbour area builds on this, mixing old and new, to provide a perfect holiday destination in the sun.
Diving: With over 50 dive sites in Cyprus for all year round diving, with the Zenobia wreck being one of the top 10 worldwide dives, The Vera K wreck is just 25 minutes from Paphos harbour laying just 11m below the surface, close to the wreck there is an archway & a series of narrow tunnels suitable for the experienced diver to explore.
The nearest beach (Potima) is around 10 mins walk. Coral Bay is around 10 mins car drive away. Here you will find a choice of blue flag beaches, water sports, cafes, restaurants and the most beautiful sunsets. Paphos harbour & beaches are around 20 mins by car. A drive to the Akamas national park is recommended where there are plenty of unspoilt, deserted beaches on the way. Also there is the amazing untouched beach of Lara Bay (Turtle Beach) where the turtles come to lay their eggs at night.
Nearest airport is Paphos Int. and is about 20 min taxi transfer journey. Larnaca is an hour and three quarters journey by car. Car hire, although not absolutely essential, is highly recommended if you want to get out & about and discover Paphos and its' surrounding areas. Taxis are easy to book, cards & numbers available, local bus services on the coast road are excellent & quite inexpensive.
Easy to follow directions from either airport can be supplied with a Google Earth
Kissonerga is well located, and ideally positioned to explore many interesting places to visit. The village has several restaurants, supermarkets, banks and a pharmacy, check out Trip Advisor. There is also a choice of tavernas which come highly recommended, within walking distance on the coast road. 10 minute drive up to neighbouring Tala village square is a true taste of Cyprus with many traditional tavernas to be enjoyed. Paphos is around 15 mins by car, & Coral Bay around 10 mins.
Hiring a car is not essential but is recommended for those who want to explore all that Cyprus has to offer. A drive up to the pine clad Troodos Mountains is recommended and traditional villages include Lania, Omodos and Kakopetria or visit the beautiful monastery of Agios Neofytos. For a nice day out you can head to the popular fishing harbours of Polis and Latchi. Cyprus has the best of both, there is 'old' Cyprus offering charm and tradition or 'new' Cyprus which is livelier and modern. It is all there to be enjoyed, so your holiday is truly what you make it. Paphos town and harbour has an array of shops, restaurants and bars for a good evening out and Paphos Fort often stages special attractions throughout the year. For the daytime, if you are adventurous Paphos Water Park is reached in 15 mins drive and is great for the kids. Many special interest holidays can be enjoyed such as fishing, cycling or birdwatching. A Spring visit to Cyprus provides some of the most exciting birding in all Europe.
