About Bill and Sarah-Jane Bailey
An active retired couple, Bill and Sarah-Jane came to Tenerife initially in 1994 when Bill was flying helicopters in the Canaries until 1999. We bought a ruined finca in 1995 and have spent 17 years renovating and improving it. When Bill retired from flying at the end of summer 2010, we sold our home in Somerset and moved permanently to Tenerife, where we live in our converted barn adjacent to the main house. Don't worry, we're completely separate and share only the parking area on the top terrace!
Bill and Sarah-Jane Bailey purchased this Villa in 1995
Why Bill and Sarah-Jane Bailey chose Arona
We bought the house because, with the prospect of living permanently in the south of the island (Bill was operating from the South Airport), we wanted to be away from the rapidly developing coastal area with its associated noise, bustle and traffic. We were spectacularly fortunate to find this property almost by accident at about 11 o'clock at night! The quiet rural location, the unspoiled views, yet the proximity to both the airport, main tourist areas and local (non tourist prices) shopping, restaurants and bars overcame our trepidation at the work that would be involved in turning it into a comfortable home. It has been well worth the considerable effort.
What makes this Villa unique
For guests arriving at night we can "meet and greet" at the airport if requested at no extra charge, lead them up to the house and introduce them to the facilities. We can organise walking, golfing, wind / kite surfing, cycling and motor cycling, paragliding, horse riding etc. An advance shopping list emailed to us by our guests will be supplied at cost. By previous arrangement with the owners, an evening meal can be provided for scheduled late flights if required. Cost on request. The solar heated pool and sun lounging area, including 3 parasols and up to 6 sunbeds are in a secure area with lockable gates at both ends.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Couldn’t ask for a better stay
We felt utterly welcomed by our hosts and could have happily spent the entire week on the terrace, it was that lovely.
Heaven on Earth!!!
We absolutely loved our stay at La Casa del Limonero! We spend almost three weeks there in December and wish we could have stayed for three more! The house is super comfortable, clean and spacious. Inside it is equipped with anything you might need. Outside, you have lots of space, many sun loungers, the pool and the lovely jacuzzi, where you can sit gazing at the stars at night. There even is a lemon tree that will keep in you in fresh lemons all year round!
Although the road leading to the villa is very steep, you have wonderful views all around the house.
The owners are lovely people and they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We would like to thank them very much and hope to return soon!
Home away from home - absolutely amazing
Before we even arrived we were made to feel welcome by Bill and SJ with their communications. The villa was as described and as the pictures show. It is finished to a high standard yet still holds a rustic charm that Bill and SJ should be very proud of. Everything we could have wanted and more was there and the views were amazing. Stargazing at 5.00am (yes - five in the morning) by the pool with a coffee is something we will remember and I would recommend it if you have the opportunity. Having both a pool and a hot tub made relaxing at the villa so easy and unlike hotels we could use them when we wanted including late at night if we chose. We are already planning our next visit to Tenerife and we will only be going when this villa is available. The villa seems to be in a remote location and the last part of the drive can seem daunting but don't be put off as the peace and tranquil surroundings more than make up for it. The local town is only a mile away with a small supermarket and a lovely café/bakery as well as bars and restaurants.
A big thank you to Bill and Sarah Jane for making us feel so welcome and opening your home for us to enjoy.
The most delightful guests who fully appreciated the villa and its location. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and do hope they will come again.
The most perfect holiday
I stayed here for 7 days with two of my best friends I wanted somewhere where we could sunbathe in peace have lovely views have facilities to cook and looking forward to the jacuzzi it was my 50th birthday celebrations and this holiday was just perfect it's not far from the airport we picked up our hire car and followed the map to the villa it is quite steep in places the first time you arrive but we soon got used to it
we were greeted by the owners Bill and Sarah who were so lovely...
And went out of their way to make us feel at home
The villa itself was outstanding and it was spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need and more there was a lovely welcome food pack waiting for us which was very generous of them
The place itself has fantastic views and the garden with a pool was just perfect for sunbathing and we loved the Jacuzzi to finish off our evenings i it was a most perfect holiday so peaceful
And not too far to travel to nearby places to visit
We are already planning our visit for next year
Perfectly furnished and most comfortable casa
We were a couple staying in Casa del Limonero for a week in early June, so enjoyed all the space it offers. The house is really well furnished / stocked and thought out and extremely well maintained. We arrived late in the evening, so the generous welcome pack was much welcomed by us. Bill and Sarah-Jane kindly waited for us and showed us all the features inside and out (they live in the adjacent house). We jumped into the jacuzzi almost straight away with a glass of beer to relax after the flight.
The casa is very convenient for the enjoyable drives up to the crater along the TF-51 / TF-21 via Vilaflor. That was important to us as we did a lot of hiking up there. Sadly, the crater was also the only place where the sun shone above the clouds during our stay, so we could not take full advantage of the casa's pool area. We did however make use of the outdoor BBQ to cook a couple of yummy dinners.
You need a small car with a strong engine to tackle the steep narrow lanes. We had a VW Golf with one litre turbocharged engine and that was up to the job just fine.
We were happy that on our departure day we could stay in the casa till late afternoon since our flight was in the late evening, that made the last day relaxing.
We had a great time, thank you!
Quiet and comfortable finca
We spent three weeks at this charming finca. The approach is very steep, but we soon got used to manoeuvring our car up the hill. It was perfect for our needs. A quiet location away from the tourist hub. The finca is impeccably maintained, extremely well equipped and spotless. The satellite tv was a little inconsistent, but think this is a 'tenerife' problem. There is good wifi. The hot tub was much appreciated and kept at a constant hot temperature. We enjoyed a soak most evenings with a glass of wine! The owner's, Bill and Sarah Jane are very friendly and welcoming. They gave us lots of useful information and tips and sorted out any issues and queries immediately. It is a bonus they live next door and are always to hand if needed. There are good restaurants nearby, plus a few villages with everything one would want. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tenerife, and found it an extremely interesting and varied island. We definitely could have stayed longer and am sure we will be back, if only for the lemon marmalade!
Special interest holidays:
We can provide information and advice on walking, motorcycling, cycling, paragliding, wind and kite surfing and diving, golf, sailing, whale watching, theme parks etc.
15-20 minute drive to Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas.
25 minute drive to El Medano.

Arona, 1.8 kms. Valle San Lorenzo, 2 kms.
Arona is the administrative centre for Los Cristianos and its environs. It has a good little supermarket, 2 banks, a pharmacy, a medical centre, a post office and a local restaurant on the road down the hill towards La Camella. There are also a couple of cafes and an excellent bakery / coffee shop ("Aroma"). Valle San Lorenzo is much bigger and rather more lively. There are several banks, 2 main supermarkets, a farmers' cooperative selling fruit and local produce, at least 2 bakeries, 4 ironmongers, a CEPSA fuel station (an important directional landmark and turning point for the house), a pharmacy, medical centre, post office, 2 good wine shops/off licences and a plethora of bars, cafes and restaurants.
We can organise golfing, walking, para-gliding, cycling, motor cycling, a visit to a bodega for the tasting of various wines, cheeses and delicatessan and/or a wine museum, botanical gardens. Plus island and marine sightseeing tours.
