Our two lovely villas are set in beautiful gardens high in the hills above the pretty Spanish village of Mijas. On a clear day you can see the Atlas mountains of Morocco from the gardens and terraces. Malaga airport is a 30-minute drive as is Marbella to the south. Picturesque Mijas pueblo is just a five-minute drive. The two houses on a 10,000m² (2.5-acre) site on the south-facing slopes of the Mijas mountain. The main house, Casa Grande, has 6-bedrooms and 5-bathrooms and sleeps 14 people. It has a wealth of classical Spanish features, beautiful mature gardens and a 12-metre heated (optional) swimming pool located in a private walled area. The guest house, Casa Pequeña, sleeps 4 people and has its own swimming pool and private gardens. Both properties are totally private and secluded being some 80 metres from each other. They were built in a classic Spanish style to reflect the rustic location.

About Jonathan Coleman
We live near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire but are now enjoying our houses near Mijas more than ever having both taken early retirement after selling our respective businesses. With five grown-up children, six beautiful grandchildren and a lovely crowd of friends it is not hard to put together a house party in Spain and this is the perfect place to do it.

Everyone falls in love with the property. Just as we did, literally buying it the day after setting eyes on it for the very first time. Its stunning views and lovely gardens combine to create a relaxing haven in an almost rural, mountain location with the advantage of fantastically easy access to the airport and the lively towns and beaches of the Costa del Sol. We love the fact that six hours (sometimes even less) after leaving our home in Oxfordshire we can be sitting on the terrace sipping a cool beer and planning where to have lunch. Although we really love cooking and entertaining we also enjoy eating out at the many and very varied local restaurants.
What makes this Villa unique
We have a large family and lots of friends and this is perfect for parties of all ages. Guests never seem to want to venture far from the house and pool but those who do, like the golfers, love the huge selection of courses nearby. Children love to visit the water park in Fuengirola or one of the many beaches along the coast and a group of us always sample a bit of “real Spain” on horseback from a nearby Andalucian riding centre. However at the end of the day, particularly at the hottest times of year, it is wonderful to drive back up the mountain to the slightly cooler and certainly more peaceful location of our villas for some true “away from it all” R & R.

Stayed at villa Pequena for 11 days and it was the most relaxing holiday we could of wished for.Would highly recommend this villa.
When we arrived at the villa we fell in love with it straight away. A perfect setting up in the hills near Mijas. Very spacious villa with everything you could possibly need. Short walk down some steps to a lovely pool area and beautiful gardens with fruit trees. Lovely local shops a short drive away and restaurants serving great food. I am definitely going back next year.

My husband and I were lucky enough I stay at Casa Pequeña for seven days . The house is wonderfully located in a very tranquil setting but only a ten minute drive into beautiful Mijas Pueblo most definitely allowing the best of both worlds! The house itself is a lovely traditional Spanish design and has everything you need for a real home from home experience and the outside is spectacular. A wonderful terrace for eating with outstanding views and below you a private pool with fabulous mature gardens including citrus, peach and almond trees. Pool and gardens were meticulously maintained and although Casa Grande is technically next door, our privacy was absolute. All in all, the property was perfect. It was exactly as described, was clean and had all the facilities we needed. The owners Gay and Jonathan were excellent to deal with and the fact that they have a local English speaking representative you can contact if needed was very reassuring.
This area of Spain is vastly underestimated in my opinion, there are lots of wonderful day trips you can take through some truly stunning scenery and the local people are very friendly. Eating and drinking out are not expensive if you shop around, the only hard part is dragging yourself away from the wonderful property to do so!

Fantastic - a hidden Gem!
What a charming Spanish villa! We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Pequena, we felt completely relaxed in its tranquil and private setting, surrounded by fantastic vegetation. The pool is well looked after and a welcome reprieve from the heat, it is set within a wonderful garden with fruit and nut trees. The gardens are beautiful with traditional Oleander plants and gorgeous roses. Unfortunately, we just missed the orange season but we were welcomed with a bowl of oranges from Casa Grande which we juiced and were delicious. The villa itself is comfortable, practical and decorated very traditionally. We enjoyed our daily shopping trips into Mijas Pueblo to buy fresh bread or visit the markets. The tomatoes and avocados are to die for. Our freshly prepared local foods were enjoyed on the terrace with some lovely Spanish wine from the wine museum in Mijas pueblo (which you can sample before you buy!). We enjoyed staying at Casa Pequena so much we have booked to stay at Casa Grande for a family holiday this summer. Which we have no doubt will exceed all expectations as Casa Pequena did. We can't wait!!!!!
Serene & welcoming
A picturesque, secluded retreat, both well equipped and comfortable. Extremely helpful owners, with local knowledge and quick to respond to any queries. Our children were constantly asking to go down to the swimming pool, which is well maintained with sun beds & umbrellas for shade, within a garden full of orange, olive & pomegranate trees. The view from the veranda is extensive & constantly changing. Close enough to the airport, the beach & the historic Mijas pueblo, with the beauty & serenity of being in the mountains.

We really enjoyed our holiday here. Casa Pequena is a lovely house with its own swimming pool. Lots of privacy and very close to the large house (casa grande). Looking forward to coming here again. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Coast/Beach: It is a 10-minute drive to the nearest beach at Fuengirola but the property is also within easy reach of many other beaches on the Costa del Sol. Travel: The properties are a 30-minute drive from Malaga airport and 25-minutes from Marbella. It is a five-minute drive from the small town/village of Mijas and numerous restaurants and bars. Car hire is essential.
Booking Notes: A Booking Deposit of 30% of the total rental cost is required with the balance due 10 weeks before travel. At that time a £250 returnable security deposit will also be required. Changeover Day: Usually Saturday to Saturday but could be flexible. Please contact the owners, Gay & Jonathan Coleman, to discuss possible arrival and departure dates. Notes on prices: Prices for the property are per week in pounds. Pool heating for Casa Grande main house pool (not usually required in June, July, August and September) is at an extra cost of £150 per week. However as the pool heating system is not effective in times of low night temperatures it will not be available from December to March. Rental price includes all linen and bath towels (not beach/swimming towels). A linen change and cleaning mid-stay can be arranged at extra cost.
