We are the Prabatani family: Amir and Kala both retired now and our son Shaff and daughter Shelina. Having lived in the UK most of our lives, we always dreamed of having a place in the sun. We fell in love with Goa and beautiful Benaulim and so decided to combine our resources buying a second family home which we also rent out to holiday makers such as you.
All of us have been heavily involved in working with the charity, public and NGO sector. We hope when you visit India that you take an interest in the rich culture and way of life there, as well as the plight of those less fortunate then ourselves.
When you visit Saffron Nest we really hope you enjoy our hospitality even though we can't be there to greet you in person!
Shaff Prabatani purchased this apartment in 2010
We bought this apartment in Benaulim because we love this small village. It's the best of all worlds, far away from the crowds and the touristy hassles of the North Goan beaches it still has the charm and friendliness of a community by the sea. The Beach is stunning and always peaceful, the food shacks and restaurants offer delicious local sea food and the locals and fisherman remain friendly and warm to the fewer visitors to the area. Its also nearer enough to the buzzing town Margoa so you can always pop into town to get some home comforts or check out a Bollywood film.
The charming complex is also brand new, so not battered by countless Monsoons yet!! It has excellent security, and staff are always on hand to make sure the pool and facilities are always spotless and well cared for.
We wanted to furnish a place to our taste, contemporary yet Indian! not to be overly fussy, full of old world clutter and chintz. We also wanted the furnishing to be light and soft to provide our guests with home comforts and relax atmosphere to enjoy their stay at Saffron Nest.
If you are looking for a very affordable apartment that is fresh, clean, simply designed yet comfortable and equiped with every modern convenience then Saffron Nest will certainly stand out.
In addition we offer different artists the opportunity to curate a small exhibition that we display at the apartment. This year photographer 'Pinky Binks' displays mesmorising images and portraits of Indian life. You can purchase prints if you wish, in which a portion goes to our local charity for street children.

"Absolutely loved Saffron Nest!! The apartment is ideally situated for reaching most parts of Benaulim village and we found everybody exceptionally welcoming and helpful." Gill, Feb 2011
A truly amazing experience. Benaulim is such a wonderful place. The people are so genuine and friendly - didn't meet one person that we didn't like! Saffron Nest is perfect. Clean and fresh. The local host, Myra, made us feel very welcome - nothing was too much trouble for her.
Would definitely return - a real home from home.
Loved this apartment, clean modern and well equipped couldn't ask for more. We had a bad experience when we arrived at benaulim with another booking so we were left with nowhere to stay, and the owner couldn't have been more helpful in assisting us. Would definately recommend and many thanks again.
We had a truly wonderful time during our stay at Saffron Nest. On arrival our local host, Myra, made us feel so welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed.
The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed. The views from all balconies are great and the wildlife kept us constantly amused.
Benaulim is an amazing place! The people are so friendly and also made us feel very welcome.
Kala and Shaff were extremely helpful prior to our stay. Local restaurants were recommended - all of which were brilliant.
This was our first time to Saffron Nest and we will certainly return.
Saffron House is in an idyllic complet, over looking clear field with birds and Buffaloes alike. It's safe for single people or families and with all the amenities within walking distance. The caretaker was very helpful any time I needed any help and her lovely son a real help with my limited experience with IT!
Views across both sides of the flat made it ideal for eating in the veranda . Flat has all the equipment you need. I recommend it highly. Easy access to beach and loads of good eating places made it an ideal location. Thank you owners and staff.
I stayed at Saffron’s Nest for 4 weeks in January.
The apartment is lovely-just like the photographs. It is light and airy with great views from all 3 balconies
I was travelling alone and had a few concerns before I left for my holiday about security but I felt perfectly safe. The main gate is manned 24 hours a day and there was a further security guard stationed just by the apartment block throughout the night.
There is everything you could need in the apartment for a comfortable stay and is ideally placed for the beach, restaurants etc..and great pool.
This is the best apartment I have stayed in Goa and I’m picky!!
Thank you, Kala for having such a wonderful apartment for rent and for all your support throughout my stay.
This was our second trip to this property. We've stayed in apartments in Goa earlier and this place is the best on many counts: a) the flat is maintained to exacting standards. It shows caring owners and they are also attentive hosts. Although I've never met her, Kala Prabatani seems like a dear friend, thanks to all the little touches of hospitality that the flat greets you with. There's a folder of information available in the flat, which (if you care to read it) will tell you everything about the area. b) The caretaker, Myra is most helpful, always at hand, a phone call away. c) The complex could be maintained a bit better, but that is not for the owners to fix. I'm sure they're working on the manager to fix some of the issues like keeping the pool a bit cleaner and better maintained. d) Transport, which is the biggest issue in Goa (if you haven't driven in, or are not two-wheeler friendly) is very easy here. There are a few tuk-tuk drivers' numbers available, and also taxi services, who are all very good. Savio was ur lifeline, and at a nominal price, compared to what taxis charge you when you stay in hotels in Goa!
Everything works in the flat, ACs, fans, lights, geysers, all electrical appliances. It was kept very very clean. We just had to walk in to feel at home. Hence we had a blissful week of chilling out with a bit of cooking and a bit of eating out. The beach is about 15 minutes' walk away and if you're lazy like us, you'd just call Savio who'll drop you there and pick you up for 1.50 GBP!!
I'd give it a two-thumbs up and am looking forward to my next trip there.

With a considerable proportion of Indians living in abject poverty, it is important to reflect on the fact that as tourists we are fortunate.
