Fuzeta / Fuseta is a traditional fishing village, with superb beaches and views over the Isla de Armona & Ria Formosa National Park. Our apartment is situated on the Fuzeta Ria is an ideal place to unwind and have a break from it all in some of the most beautiful surroundings. The apartment boasts window views over the lagoon & sea. With access to unspoilt areas of natural beauty and only 30 minutes from Faro airport. The apartment is only a couple of years old and is positioned on a development of 30 apartments and 20 town houses built to very high specifications with a quality finish. A private tiled garden with sun loungers & table+chairs, two spacious bedrooms, one with large en-suite, open airy living area with dining area and fully equipped kitchen, the apartment has everything you need for a great stay in this undiscovered region of the Algarve. The local town is a 10 minute walk away and the bigger towns of Olhao and Tavira are within easy reach by either train or car.

We were once hardcore holiday campers in the UK but got tired of holidays ruined by grey skies and constant rain. We love the beach and we are all keen swimmers and wanted a place that we thought would appeal to potential guests and that we wanted to go back to time and time again. We haven't been disappointed yet. We love Fuzeta and its laid back, child friendly feel and have even got the stickers to prove it!

Why Alan Bawden chose Olhao

We looked around the Algarve for a place that boasted fantastic beaches, somewhere that wasn't overdeveloped and still retained a bit of 'old Portugal' and was still family orientated. There is a marina and village with excellent, simple bars and restaurants with great seafood and seriously good prices to boot. There is something for everyone here, several nearby quality golf courses, water parks, horse riding and water sports. We also regularly use the local train service and haven't hired a car for our last 3 stays. Faro Airport is mere 25 minutes drive away.

What makes this apartment unique

The traditional fishing village of Fuzeta is uncommercialised and is truly laid back and chilled. Constant sea views of the the Fuseta Ria National Park (an ornotholgists paradise) and the Isla de Armona from the lounge and around the grounds of the property are hard to beat. Set within a boutique development, it is quiet, luxurious and has a definite wow factor. 2 pools including a roof top infinity pool is available for use. There are several grocery shops and a fresh food market only 10 minutes walk from the apartment and one of the best beaches a short ferry ride away. The apartment has air conditioning through out, massive floor to ceiling windows and a secure video door entry access system. The private garden at the back allows you to enjoy the almost continuous Portuguese sun.

A restful, excellent stay

The apartment was clean, spacious and had all the bits and bobs we needed for our stay. Can't fault it in any way. Close to the pool, but far enough away for quiet and an easy 15-20 minute stroll into the town. Elisabete was efficient and very helpful, offering us a lift in to town on the first day but then we decided to walk, she gave us excellent directions to where we needed to go.

Perfect destination for a relaxing break.

The apartment was spotless & has every thing you need to make your stay simple & enjoyable. I was travelling alone & just wanted a quiet beach holiday to recover from a long Summer season in my job & prepare for the Xmas period. The pool is Fantastic with great views. The beach is Great & has a new bar & toilets, with other options a short walk away. Make sure you get the boat over to the Island, best €1.60 you will spend. There are plenty of places to eat in town, every thing is just a 10 minute walk away. If you want to travel further afield & are not hiring a car, the train station is 5 minutes away giving you access to the whole Algarve. On the whole I had a fab time & the weather was superb, I will be visiting again for sure.

Wonderful stay in modern, spacious apartment

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Fuzeta. Fabulous flat - one of the best we've stayed in. We all loved its space, the airiness, the light and generally the relaxed vibe. All the facilities were top class - memorable showers and lots of home comforts. Area at the back perfect for sunny breakfasts.

Fuzeta was a great find. A working town that fits in tourism rather than the other way round. Such a lovely, friendly relaxed environment and restaurants to die for. Several in square some of which seemed to open only on Friday and Saturday. Scandinavia also worthy of mention. owner very easy to deal with and supplied plenty of tips which was great. The kids loved the beaches which were spectacular. Would definitely recommend apartment and town. We'll be back!

Excellent Luxury Apartment in Fuzeta

We stayed for a week in July with our 14 year old daughter.The apartment has everything you could think of and was extremely clean. Large patio with sun loungers although the weather was a bit too hot for us to use it. We preferred to take the ferry to the island to cool down in the sea or the fab little pool just across the road, which never got very busy. Elisabete was very helpful and even drove us into town and gave us a short tour of the village when we arrived. We loved everything about Fuzeta, it's a very traditional fishing village and not spoilt by tourism. We used the train to go to Tavira and Olhao, the trains were easy to use and cheap. The highlight of our week, however, was dolphin watching on a boat trip from Fuzeta, we saw several small groups of Dolphins who swam all around the boat! Magical! Would highly recommend.

Sports: All Watersports, Horse Riding, Golf within 30 mins drive, Fishing

Great for: Beach or pool-side relaxation, A winter sun break, Walking holidays, Bird Watching in the Ria Fomosa National Park, Cycling holidays. There are a couple of excellent water parks to the west, a marine zoo where you can swim with the dolphins, and go-karting within 45 mins drive of the apartment. Tavira is well worth a visit, you will find a 13th century castle, the old gate of the city, a Camera Obscura, a magnificent Roman bridge, a great plaza to have coffee & watch the world go by, several old churches. A picturesque ferry trip takes you to the island of Tavira from the riverside during the summer, or from the Quatro Agua's jetty (great restaurant there too), in the winter.The Barril beach, close to Pedras del Rei, Monte Gordo or Monta Rota are often voted as the best beaches if you want to go further afield.

Olhão is also worth a visit, very Portuguese, very Algarvian and very un-touristic.

Coast/Beach:

A short 10-15 minute walk to the lagoon beach by the marina close to a cafe and facilities, just a short walk back into town for lunch. A picturesque marina where boat hire and water taxis are available.

The stunning Isla De Armona beach is accessed by 2 minute ferry ride (€1.40 return - 2013), immaculate sandy beach stretching for miles, walk 5 min for your own bit of beach. Toilets & food & drinks facilities available. Beach shops selling parasols, buckets and spades are along the sea front.

Travel:

Faro airport is approximately 30 minutes by car. Hire cars and taxis are available from the airport. We can arrange these for you. We have used the rail link from Faro to Fuzeta following the coastline and can be recommended. Whilst a car is not essential it is recommended to maximise access to the surrounding areas.

Distances:

The local shop (Loja Fresco) is a 10 minute walk and fish and fruit markets in Fuzeta are a short walk away as are various cafes and restaurants. The nearest larger towns are Olhao to the west, 10 minute drive, Tavira (well worth a visit) to the east 15 minute drive. Further afield are Vilamoura with its ostentatious marina and Albufeira, a lively resort but with its 'old town', well worth a visit. Both less than an hour away and the Spanish border around half an hour.

Further Details:

Fuzeta has all your essential amenities. Shops, cafes and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. There are ATMs, a post office, pharmacy and beauty salon all within walking distance. A charming authentic daily fish market.

Fuzeta also has it's own petrol station. For serious shoppers there is Ria Shopping in nearby Olhao and closer to Faro, Forum Algarve (off the N125). Both have large food shopping stores. Tavira, the nearest larger town, offers a smaller shopping outlet with a large hypermarket. Tavira has a larger choice of restaurants and bars and a square where very often out-door performances by local artists are held.

Fuzeta is located on the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected haven for a wide variety of birds and wild life, it is possible to watch flamingos feeding and other exotic visitors to these shores. Organised boat trips and expeditions are available through local agencies from both the Fuzeta & Tavira marinas. The town has its own small marina, from where a boat can be hired to independently explore the coastline. Jet ski and kite surfing hire is available from the beach.

The touristic resort of Albufeira is together with Vilamoura less than an hour ago and historic Lagos perhaps an hour and a half all accessible on the A22 motorway or by the rail link available from either of the two railway stations in Fuzeta (change at Faro).

Booking Notes:
A 25% deposit is required to secure the reservation. The balance plus a refundable breakage bond (subject to satisfactory property inspection) of £100 will be payable one month prior to your arrival. All charges include cleaning, change of linen once week & cleaning after departure. Linen & towels are provided. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and water will be provided, extra provisions can be provided at cost + €20 to arrange. There is an additional charge payable to our Manager of €30 if arriving after 20.00 or if arriving before 08:00. A lost key-card for the pool will cost €35 and any call outs to unlock the apartment will be charged back at cost. BBQ cleaning charge of £15.

Changeover Day:
Flexible, daily rates available on request. Arrival and departure times are flexible depending on availability and can be arrange with our manager, Jane. There is an additional charge of €30 if arriving after 20:00hrs

Notes on prices:
We have a Graca travel cot in-situ. Should you require another cot and / or a high chair they are available to rent on request at €15 euro each per week. 1 change of linen included in the price per week, any additional changes will be charged at cost + 20%. We accept PayPal too!

Utility Room: Beach towels (please launder before leaving or an additional charge of €15 will be deducted from the breakage deposit), boogie board, skim-board, buckets and spades, beach sun tent are all available for use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels & linen are included. Property is cleaned and laundry completed at end of stay. Additional cleaning & Airport pickup and drop off can be provided at cost. Beach towels are provided but need to be washed before leaving or will be charged for.
