My name is Liz. I live in Cornwall and have always loved property, renovation and sea! I currently advertise 2 of my properties through Owners Direct, 1 is a beautiful villa on the island of Kefalonia in Greece property ref: GR1548 and the second one is a character detached character barn conversion in the rolling Cornish countryside just 3 miles from the sea. I have overseen/built and refurbished both properties with help from professionals along the way, combined with the help of my 2 children who are both actively involved with everything I do. My aim is to provide holidays that home from home, that are welcoming, friendly and with luxury finishing touches that sets them apart from others. Customer service is very important to me, thank you for reading my profile.
Liz Rogers purchased this villa in 2005
Katelios is a pretty fishing village with lovely restaurants and tavernas. Within 35 mins from the airport you can be sat overlooking the Ionian sea with the sound of birdsong and crickets all around. The location is peaceful, and yet within 10 minutes walk you can be at the sea front enjoying a glass of robola wine with olives and tzadziki. Crowds do not exist on Kefalonia, beaches are never crowded, and crime rate is very low. Night life is relaxed and low key. The villa is suitable for large families, or maybe just a group of friends wishing to `get away` from it all.
The villa has a very relaxed feel about it. It is large, light and airy, the views from both inside and out are breathtaking. If you are holidaying with children there is a separate family room that they can play safely whilst not spoiling the relaxed feel or cluttering up the living areas where adults can still enjoy. plasma TV and Ipod stations are little extras that are there should guests require them. Although the above are not essential on a relaxing holiday, these facilities are there to enhance your stay. I understand as a self employed mum myself that if children are happy then so are we.
J Vanstone - Oct 2014 - We have had a wonderful family holiday in your amazing villa, thankyou so much, we now go home feeling far more relaxed, the views, sea and sun have had huge healing properties.
Betteley family - August 2014 - The views from the villa are spectacular and helped make this an unforgettable holiday, a great time was had by all, pool in use every day, games galore. The place has rung with laughter and a cry of 'geronimo' has cascaded down this beautiful valley.
D Hopkins - July 2014 - Thankyou! we have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa - a perfect view of the sea, the pool was thoroughly enjoyed by all 8 of us. The Katelios tavernas by the sea were lovely and such friendly staff there.
Scott family - July 2014 - Lovely villa, very relaxing, we loved Koroni beach, quiet and beautiful sea. Fish is sold in Katelios at 11am every morning wonderful for the bbq, finally we loved watching the swallows swooping
Arrived to a stunning villa after navigating from the airport. Liz the owner had supplied really great directions and the roads were really easy to navigate. The villa is stunningly beautiful, the views are just amazing and you are perched on the side of the hill overlooking the village of katelios. The villa has everything that you would need , a proper home from home. Liz has catered for everything. The beds are the comfiest I have ever slept on. There is a good range of tavernas in the village and it is a good 8 minute walk down, however well worth it. The walk back up is steep, the last 100 yards, but ideal to walk over the food you will have eaten. Found a beautiful beach called agia Thomas which was about a 20 min drive back towards the airport. A beautiful beach, not big, but has a taverna where you wil find the oldest cook/bartender/waitress on the island !!. This is a villa I would definitely recommend to anyone if you are looking for a secluded but not isolated retreat with stunning views and everything you would need within the villa.
Lovely villa with a stylish interior and every effort to provide everything you need. Pool ideal for the family and short walk to good choice of restaurants and shallow beach great for kids. Lovely warm welcome from Liz and Will who gave us some great eating out / trip ideas. We had a great week
Our family of 6 had a wonderful time in katelios. The villa was amazing. Beaches fabulous and weather stunning. We will definitely return!
Will met us on the first day and was very friendly, telling about the villa and the local area. The villa was absolutely lovely and perfect for our group with the four bedrooms, the beautiful pool was used every day and we made use of the BBQ one evening but mostly ate out. The views from the villa are stunning but I would say that having these views means you are very high up, and without a car it's very hard work to climb up to. Katelios is a lovely little village with a couple of mini markets and a good choice of restaurants, and a nice sandy beach which is very shallow and great for children.
A great holiday villa. Immaculately presented with wonderful views. Super service from the property manager. Would definitely recommend it to others but be aware of steep walk home after a trip to the village.
We had a fantastic stay at Villa Cyclamino in May and would whole-heartedly recommend this to others.
The villa was very spacious, clean and well maintained and had everything we could need - and more! Will, the owner's son was excellent in dealing with any problems we had instantly and was also very friendly and gave some good tips of where to eat, etc.
The villa has the most stunning view of Katelios and is worth every penny. Be warned that it is up a short hill from the very quiet, laid-back village of Katelios where you will find all the shops and tavernas right by the sea which might prove difficult for those who have difficulties walking. We travelled with our 2 children, (8, 5) who had no trouble with the climb or the walk (15 mins) but also went with our OAP parents who would not have been able to do this, but fortunately we hired a car to ferry them about! The beds were quite low, which again was no problem at all for us (in fact they were REALLY comfy!) but for our parents (in their late 70's) they struggled to get out of them a bit.
We combined our days with visiting nearby beaches (Mounda is excellent for children) or visiting other parts of the island and time back at the villa relaxing by the pool- which was great. The only criticism I would say is that there could be more sun-shades around the pool. Having said that, by the afternoon, there was plenty of natural shade from the buildings so it wasn't a problem at all.
In the evening, we mostly ate in Katelios as this was within walking distance (apart from the incline back!) and can honestly say that all of the restaurants were great- though our favourites were: Captain Jerrys (great sea-food), Maria's Taverna and Blue Sea.
If you like peace and quiet, with great food, great views and a stunning pool and villa, go for it! I am sure we will be returning if we can get a booking next year!
