Balmoral holiday apartment is a recently renovated spacious (100sq.m) two bedroom apartment which was formally part of a Victorian Seaside Hotel. It looks across the Lavan Sands towards Puffin Island and Anglesey. We are less than 100 yards from the beach. We had a sighting of a pod of porpoise from the lounge window. The apartment has 2 bedrooms. Visit Wales graded Balmoral as a 4 star accommodation. A fully fitted kitchen with a washer, fridge, cooker, microwave, Wi-Fi enabled etc. Llanfairfechan is situated between Llandudno and Bangor it is a quiet coastal village and is ideally placed for touring Snowdonia. 2 hours gets you to Manchester, Liverpool or indeed Dublin on the fast ferry from Holyhead. We are 200yds from Llanfairfechan Railway Station. Snowdonia offers something for everyone with a wealth of history and 5 world heritage sites closeby. Spectacular mountains, a walkers paradise. Many great golf courses. Fishing. Oldest language in Europe. Lots to do. The apartment sleeps 4 however there is a sofa bed and a cot available if required.
My wife and I have just retired from Mental Health Nursing after 39 years. We are adjusting to retirement and enjoy travel. We have been to Australia, Bali, India, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Spain, France, Portugal and Ireland in recent years.
We hope to go to New Zealand in the future.
Our apartment which was purchased and renovated before we retired will prop up our pension and enable us to continue our travels. We have enjoyed meeting our visitors many of whom have returned year after year. Our visitors seem to enjoy the quiet village life and the many things to see and do in North Wales. We have had visitors from all parts of the world which has added to the pleasure of our new business. New customers becoming new found friends.
Ged Haresnape purchased this apartment in 2006
We live above the apartment and have done so since 1987. When we got the chance to purchase it we did so hoping to renovate it and make it into a holiday apartment. It was part of a Victorian Seaside Hotel and has fantastic views across the sea. One of the charms of living here is that the sea changes from day to day and indeed from hour to hour. We have a mellow climate all year round and get more than our fair share of sunshine. We can have roses growing in December. The A55 expressway enables us to get to places quickly and the train service is a plus running behind our home. Lovely walks start from Llanfairfechan into Snowdonia. We are happy here and have never seen a place better to move too!
Many of our visitors comment how restful and peaceful the area is. They enjoy sitting in the lounge looking out to sea. Active folk and young families plan busy agendas, climbing Snowdon, walking the coastal paths, visiting all the local sites and packing in so much into the holiday. Balmoral is enjoyed in different ways. Visitors from the city find the slow unhurried way of life a tonic and a chance to recharge the batteries. Others get the buzz from rock climbing surfing and various extreme sports. North Wales was recently described as the adrenaline coast in the local newspaper. We have not cut any corners when furnishing the property. We have wi-fi and have tried to make the apartment a home from home for our visitors.
Superb, I cant take my eyes of the spectacular views across the ever changing sea from the armchair. We were so surprised at the size of the accommodation the last place we stayed in was a quarter the size! The beds are so comfortable, unable to get the lads up in the morning. We were very impressed with the standards throughout Balmoral, Sony TV, M&S furniture, you have not cut corners. What a find, we did not know Balmoral existed we have been coming to Llanfairfechan for many years. Highly recommend.
You have made us feel very welcome, Thank you. Of course we will be back again. Our fifth visit. We have had a fantastic week, walked up Snowdon, used the mountain bikes, The apartment is a real treasure we will book again.
Went to Puffin Island and saw the seals, would strongly recommend the trip.
Llanfairfechan has got a blue flag beach, But we liked the kids paddling pool and the park areas. Mecca for watching birds and seeing the wildlife.
We return each year, we love Balmoral.
A lovely quiet place to stay with all that you need provided. Perfect location to explore a beautiful area ......
Spent a relaxing break in this lovely apartment. Plenty of room, clean and tidy throughout. After a day sight seeing, great to relax in the lounge with a cuppa and take in the sea views. Plenty to do nearby, visited Aber falls, bodnant gardens as well as the sea-side towns. The owners helpful and friendly, would definitely book again, would recommend this apartment.
Llanfairfechan was a pleasant surpise! Lovely walks & close to other destinations. The apartment had everything we needed & was large & comfortable. Owners were very helpful & a pleasure to meet!
We chose this place for a two night weekend break.........the brief from my daughter to stay somewhere where we could see the sea..........less than 100 yards to the sea wall and a great view.
Accommodation is great, spacious, well equipped.
Owners were really helpful and very welcoming.
Location is great for Anglesey (20 minutes or so to Menai bridge), snowdonia (30 minutes to llanberis where you can get the train up snowdonia or visit the hydro electric power station- very impressive). Also 5 minute walk to the train station where you can get the train to Conwy or Llandudno.
Would definitely book there again if we decided to visit Wales
Myself and my children had a lovely stay at this holiday apartment. We enjoyed being inside during wet weather days looking out at the view of the sea. We loved the local area with the great paddling pool and scrummy ice cream at the beachside cafe. We had a great warm welcome and really enjoyed seeing what North Wales has to offer from a clean and well presented holiday apartment. It's definitely on the list for a return visit.
Lovely clean property with outstanding sea views from the lounge. Easy parking and easy access to the A55 both N & S. Plenty to see and do with Anglesey a few miles away, and plenty of local walks. Ged is a great host with a good knowledge of the area.
Our location enables visits to Manchester Liverpool and indeed day trips to Dublin offering a wide selection of choice to the visitor on wet days.
Visitors can literally throw a stone into the sea from our front garden. There are beautiful rugged secluded beaches which require years to find and explore. See Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path 125 mile walk. Much of this coastline is a designated as one of Wales five 'Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB).
We have seen dolphins & porpoise from the window of Balmoral. It has proven a haven for bird watchers who visit the area all the year round.

Within 200 meters of the apartment is the Oceans cafe which has been well rated by our visitors. Pizza & Tapas along with the Special Board will save you having to cook. The Black Boy in Caernarfon has a very large menu and worthy of the trip out.
The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn Anglsey a bit further away is another of our secret haunts. Great food real ale and a nice beach besides. Telephone 01407 860267. Pen y Bryn in Colwyn Bay is very popular. Wish we could have it moved a bit closer to us but a good tasty menu a choice of good wines and a regular choice of a number of great hoppy beers.
Sailing golf walking climbing bird watching cycling fishing are all popular activities along with surfing and mountain biking. Llanfairfechan is ideally placed for touring North Wales. We are at the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Our coastal location is 13 miles from Bangor and 13 miles to Llandudno.

The apartment is available throughout the summer and offers a high 4 star accommodation. Climbers will value the comfort of a warm homely place to rest after a day on the mountains.
