|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
The Villa, constructed at the end of the 18th century, offers a relaxing and comfortable stay to whoever wishes to spend their holidays in Tuscany. The Villa has been furnished in a very comfortable way with quality furniture, in part antique and in part in stile, created by the able Tuscan craftsmen. In the romantic garden, with palms and kaki plants, there is a gazebo with table and chairs, and other garden furniture, barbecue, to stay and eat outside. From the garden, downstairs, there is a large sitting room/dining room with a very wide, functioning fireplace and a spacious and well equipped kitchen with wiew on the garden. A stone staircase leads to the first floor where there is a bright and extremely pleasing sitting room, with it's restored original painted walls, a card table and television with satellite TV and a DVD player. At only 20 meters from the Villa is a 6 x 14 mt. swimming pool that will remain heated so allowing bathing in early autumn or in mid spring.
My family (my wife, my son 16 years old and I and our Westie "Gaddo") lives usually in Florence, and part of the summer in a independent part of the Villa.
I spend some days at the Villa in other periods too.

Giorgio MONTINI purchased this villa in 1913
The Villa belonged to my family for many years, from about 1880. We restored the Villa between 2005 and 2007.
This area, the Casentino, is rich in arts and history.
Medieval villages, castles, romanesque churches.
The National Park of Foreste Casentinesi is few kilometres from the Villa.
Specially in the good season, to stay at the Villa di Catarsena is very relaxing.
The possibility to swim in the heated pool in from April to the half of October is a very good thing.
We enjoyed a beatiful clean villa with a splendid situated swimming pool. Spacious sleeping rooms with modern arranged bathrooms. Every family members was pleasant amused and fully satisfied about the whole week in the Villa and the region., notwithstanding one rainy day. (Mr. Leonardus Koots and family, NL, 2008, April 26-May 3).
We have had a wonderful stay in your beatiful Villa. This was our 1° time in Tuscany and I'm sure we will return. Many thanks for your hospitality. (Bill and Helen Forward, 2009, July 12-19, Kent, UK).
Thanks you for such to your beatiful villa. We had a fantastic time. The boys loved swimming in the pool. It is so relaxing and beatiful here we feel completely spoilt. The wine and the olive oil was lovely.(Paul, Sophia, Jack and William Coode, 2010, June 30-July 10, UK).
We enjoyed the pool at any time of the day. The weather was great and we had many delicious meals outside. Thanks for being such a good host.(2011, October 1-8, Mueller-Bolls & C., CH).
What an amazing holiday we had at this beautiful Villa. The location was picturesque and peaceful. there were 8 adults and it was plenty big enough for all of us. Perfectly clean and had everything that we needed. We never had a car but managed with a local driver " Luca " who was fabulous. On our first Night Giorgio supplied us with a four course dinner with wine at a very reasonable price. He even did the dishes. He arranges a cooking class for us which was very enjoyable and also at a very reasonable price. Giorgio could not do enough for us. We explored many of the local villages which we all really loved. I would recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a Tuscan getaway. I would go back in a heartbeat
As a family we were celebrating our son's upcoming 40th birthday and there were 8 adults and 6 small children.The villa had everything for our holiday and Giorgio the owner was great,he even provided some lasagne and wine for our first evening which was really appreciated after our travels. We also had the name of a great chef who cooked the birthday meal .Danielle was excellent and I would recommend for a true Tuscan meal .The living space was ideal both indoors and outdoors with a BBQ and large eating /seating area,everything had been considered table tennis and even a pizza oven which Giorgio would have helped us with but unfortunately it rained!!Bring your own pool inflatables as none provided. Beautiful unspoiled views and hearing a cuckoo every day was amazing . lots of restaurants locally and a visit to Poppi castle was good.We also lunched in a restaurant beside the castle which was very reasonable .There is also a zoo but I wouldn't rate it. would love to visit again.
The Villa di Catarsena was the venue for my fiftieth birthday celebration, it turned out to be everything we expected and more. From the moment we arrived to Giorgio's welcome and tour of the premises with thoughtful touch of homemade lasagne, bread and wine, to our departure we knew we had made a good choice. The Villa is spacious with a great balance of public rooms allowing even large groups moments of solitude if required. The area itself offers a great base to strike out to the rest of Tuscany with Florence (two hours north) and Sienna (two hours south) it is right in the heart of things. Bibbiena offers a good selection of shops and restaurants (although we loved the Villa so much we ate "in" every night) and the local people all proved warm and friendly. The real measure of any holiday location is asking the question would I go again? In this case it is a resounding "yes"!
