Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

House in Giggleswick, Nr. Settle, Yorkshire Dales - Set in the National Park, only 20 minutes walk from the market town of Settle

Woodlands was built in 1905 as a gentlemen’s country residence. It sits at the end of a quiet road ten minutes walk from picturesque Giggleswick village in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The enchanting Lord’s Wood borders the house to the west and there are spectacular views from the terrace over the Ribble Valley to the east. A 15 minute walk down The Mains takes you to the pretty market town of Settle, with shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as a theatre and swimming pool.

About David

I fell in love with the Yorkshire Dales and Giggleswick in 2005, spending most weekends here since. I found Woodlands in 2009 and finally moved here in 2011.

When I'm not looking after the house I'm in the hills walking, running, on the bike or just hanging out with my dog Chip.

David purchased this house in 2009

Why David chose Giggleswick

Woodlands is definitely a balance of both both worlds - it's on the edge of the village of Giggleswick - leave by the back door and there is nothing by the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Walk down the drive at the front and Settle is only twenty minutes walk - shops, cafes, pubs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

'The house is fabulous, we all loved it!'

"Thank you so much for a wonderful week, the house is fantastic and we have enjoyed our stay very much...I can't tell you how grateful we are to have spent time in this wonderful house and thank you for looking after us. Not only will we be back, but we will be telling many people how amazing this place is."

"Michael (our caretaker) was friendly and helpful without being intrusive - a great combination."

We had a wonderful time here 12adults for a 70th birthday and a murder mystery week. Walking distance to pub and shops, no one disturbed us and house was magnificent, a credit to the owner. Would highly recommend.
