The patio offers outdoor dining and a built in BBQ. Enter into the cool lounge (with a lovely open fireplace for the winter months). Open plan living includes a dining area and a galley style kitchen. A bathroom with WC and wash basin are concealed behind a wooden door before the stairs rise to the first floor. From the landing both bedrooms enjoy spectacular views across the countryside to the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa. There is a private balcony off the master bedroom to catch the glorious sunsets. The full bathroom with WC, bath with shower overhead, handbasin and bidet complete the first floor. Privacy and tranquillity with stunning views - what more could you want?

We have owned this delightful property for 26 years and we still thrill at the magic of Mijas and the wonderful lifestyle we enjoy here, in relaxing and peaceful surroundings. Our children learnt to swim in the pools, play tennis on the court and speak Spanish fluently.

We had a lovely time at your villa and really liked Mijas. We went out and about visiting Marbella, Benelmadena (for the cable car) and Malaga and ate at some lovely restaurants along the way!

Cantalegre is so peaceful! I spent many a happy hour relaxing in the sun in the garden.

Notes on accommodation: This villa makes for a lovely family holiday but is wonderful for a couple, especially those wishing to enjoy a romantic break! It is suitable for all clients although not recommended for infirm or wheelchair users due to the steepness of the surrounding mountainside. Outside: The villa sits in its own garden with patio. Car parking is close to the villa and the swimming pool is a short distance away (less than 100 yards). An even larger pool is approx 7 mins walk away with the tennis court and small bar/restaurant. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen and towels included (please bring your own towels for beach/pool use. Property cleaned and linen changed weekly. Other: Delightful private garden. Private balcony off master bedroom.

Wonderful villa!

This was our second visit to Mijas and we were not disappointed. Karen's villa is homely and has everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Both the pools are lovely and clean and the one nearest the villa was adequate for our needs - the kids made friends and had a whale of a time.

The views are tremendous and the area has excellent restaurants/bars and a good mix of touristy shopping/boutiques. We visited the minature museum, the bull ring museum and the folk museum to escape some of the afternoon sun.

The Quirky Bull (bar near the large pool) had just reopened and we enjoyed a lovely meal there - they had the best patatas fritas of the week according to my son. The Aroma Cafe with its secret garden is a must for a special occasion - make sure you book for a table in the garden.

We did need a car - the shortcut to town is no longer passable due to rock fall and the walk up and down the mountain to the villa would have been too much for us in the heat (August visit). So unless you are a hardy hiker I would recommend car rental for your stay.

Book this for your holiday and you will not be disappointed.

Very quaint - very peaceful location, Mijas Pueblo is a beautififul town and so friendly

This house was perfect for us and the coast is a 15 minute drive away. The house was well kitted out with everything necessary including British Satelite TV box. We also used the pool nearby (3 minutes walk) well kitted out with sun loungers and beautifully planted - really tranquil and relaxing. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was well used - even though the ambient temperature was about 4 degrees cooler than at the coast in Fuengirola. We would book this place again.

Charming villa with stunning views

This was one of many visits to this charming villa set above a peaceful residential area with stunning views across the mountains and sea. Very clean, comfortable and well looked after with a lovely garden. The pool is very close by and you can relax under the palm trees in this beautiful haven. The villa is perfect for people who enjoy walking, otherwise a car is essential. A fantastic location for getting away and enjoying a relaxing break. Definitely hope to visit again!

Our first visit to Mijas was in 1994 and we immediately fell in love with the area. For the last 14 years we have spent our summer break in Mijas La Neuva staying often in Villa Cantelegre. A lovely, comfortable villa that makes you feel at home as soon as you open the door. Cantelegre has everything you need for your stay and is the perfect place to "chill" in the hot Andalucian sun. Beautiful private gardens with breathtaking views across the Med to North Africa. Spend your evening on the upstairs balcony gazing up at a sky full of stars.

The local village of Mijas has plenty to offer if you want to eat out with many restaurants and tapas bars. Bar Alarcon is still our favourite. The village simply bussles with activity with everything from flamenco shows in The Virgin de la Pina to concerts in the open air auditorium.

Car hire is highly recommended if you want to travel further afield and explore more of the area - although there is a very good bus service. Over the years we have visited the stunning historical town on Rhonda; the famous caves in Nerja; old town Marbella (with tapas and drinks in Orange Square); old town Benalmadena (again tapas and drinks); Benalmadena port (where we have taken boat trips to see dolphins in their natural habitat); the Telecabina at Arroya de la Miel take you up to the highest point in Malaga Costa where you not only have the most magnificent views of the Costa del Sol, but also the awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains (white with snow in the winter months), the Guadalhorce Valley and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa. Enjoy demonstration on how the birds of prey live alongside humans and watch the speed and feeding habits of a peregrine falcon or the majestic flight of the eagle. I could go on and on and on but my suggestion would be to book Cantelegre and see for yourself this part of Paradise.

The most relaxing place possible.

This is the 15th year at this villa. It has had many improvements in this time. The villa has everything anyone would need. It has the most fabulous views. The village of Mijas is very picturesque has plenty of restaurants and other shopping facilities. We will be back.

The beaches of Fuengirola are a short 5 mile drive away.


Malaga airport is half an hour away by car. There is a local train from the airport to Fuengirola which is cheap and reliable. Buses run from Mijas Pueblo to the coast frequently and there is a small local bus that stops on the edge of the estate to go to the village or down into Fuengirola. Cheap and reliable. Car hire strongly recommended.


Mijas Pueblo 1.5kms - 20 mins walk or a 3 minute drive by car. Fuengirola 5 miles away. Malaga and Marbella 30 minutes away. Water park 5 miles away, another 10 miles away. Gibraltar, Grenada, Cordoba, Seville all approx 2 hours drive.

Further Details:

Mijas Pueblo provides everything with good quality shops and restaurants, daily market for fresh fish, meat and local produce and a flower market on Saturdays. The annual Feria is a must see (early September) and Easter truly moving with the parade of the local Virgin de la Pena around the church and village.
