About Paul Marder
I am a retired widower, My late wife & I built Villa Helios in 2004/5. Most of our family holidays were taken in Villas and Apartments, in Europe and USA. After many years of renting we decided to build our own holiday home, using all the experience of the properties we have stayed in. We decided on the beautiful Island of Kefalonia as the ideal destination location, and set about finding a plot of land, which we bought in 2004. We wanted to create a home from home that offered all the missing ingredients that many holiday villas lack. We use the house on a regular basis, as do our children, When we visit ourselves we aim to ensure that standards are maintained & improved. Stelios maintains the villa on a daily basis.
Paul Marder purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Paul Marder chose Livathou
A fantastic location, Villa Helios is set in an Olive Grove, close to all the essential local amenities, Restaurants, Mini Markets and Beaches. Very quiet and private with spectacular views of Trapezaki Bay, The Island of Zante and Mount Ainos. There are wonderful walks from the villa and lots of beach's to explore. Walk from Trapezaki to Kanali beach then onto Lourdas and beyond, stopping at the various bars and tavernas along the way. The local restaurants offer a mouth watering variety of Greek and international food.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is very well equipped for both indoor & outdoor cooking & dining. We are also able to offer delicious Home Made Greek food delivered to the Villa. Welcome Packs are also available to order. Dine on the villa patios and enjoy some of the most spectacular views on the Island. Stelios & Denise who look after the villa both speak perfect English and are able to offer lots of advise about the Island, restaurants etc. Extensive information book on hand in the villa, to advise on the local area & the Island. Close to many beaches, with spectacular views of the Coast & Mountains. The garden has Olive, Fig, Lemon, Orange & Nut trees which can be picked when in season. Close to both the airport & the Islands capital Argostolli, both are less than 20 minutes away.

Beautiful villa in an amazing location - secluded and peaceful, yet walk 5 minutes to lovely tavernas, very short drive to a quiet beach (even at peak times), mini-market walking distance. the view is beautiful - just stunning vistas of Zante over the turquoise sea. very well appointed inside. Gorgeous fig and citrus trees in the surrounding gardens. Lovely large pool which was spotlessly clean,
Superb Villa with everything
Wonderful views, relaxing location. We stayed with 4 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room. The Villa has everything you need with good air conditioning when it is really hot. Restaurants within walking distance and 10 minutes in the car to the beaches. Highly recommend and we would stay there again!
Gorgeous spacious villa in secluded spot with lovely views
This lovely villa is very well cared for with an attractively furnished open plan downstairs full of light. Two nice sized doubles, both with balconies and two twin bedrooms downstairs for the children. Lots of storage too and bath towels provided.
We spent most of our time outside where there were sun beds for all and in the glorious pool which is beautifully clean.
You need a car to get to local taverna, bakery and shop which is very thoughtfully stocked with lots of English food as well as Greek. It is walkable but a bit of a struggle in the heat. The local Stamna taverna was ideal and authentic.
There are lemons, oranges, fig trees among others in the grounds which we loved being able to pick.
The photos on this site do not quite do it justice so it was a lovely surprise to arrive and find it exceeded our expectations.
Paul the owner was very helpful, and easy to communicate with. There is masses of information in the villa for things to do but all the children wanted to do was hang out at the villa!
Comfortable and spacious villa with stunning views
Comfortable and spacious villa in beautiful quiet location with wonderful large infinity pool with spectacular views. Both villa and pool immaculately maintained by a charming and helpful local couple. There is a brilliant barbecue in the garden and there are several excellent tavernas serving delicious Kefalonian food in the locality. You would need a car to get around ,but roads are quiet and traffic-free.
Great villa, excellent views, beautiful beaches
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Helios. Superb villa, beautiful pool, excellent views, great nearby beaches (and beach side cafe) with wonderfully clear water plus a friendly and helpful owner and team nearby to support. Highly recommended.
As a party of 8 adults this villa offered everything we needed, plenty of space and so well equipped that we never ran out of glasses!
The view was superb we all spent many happy hours in the pool just admiring the view, the BBQ was used and the evenings spent just chilling out were great. We found we could walk to a couple of restaurants and a bakery which made life easy.A must is to try Denise's Moussaka it was fabulous.
We would highly recommend this villa the booking was made easy by Paul's quick replies and detailed instruction's for our arrival.
