We rented the villa along with 3 other couples for a week in September. Simone was amazing. He had great suggestions and was always happy to help us with arrangements or reservations. At one of the restaurants he recommended, we had one of the best meals I've ever had! The roads to the villa are narrow and it takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the center of Verona, but the setting is beautiful and worth the extra time to get there. We spent one day just relaxing on the grounds of the villa, which was a wonderful break. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. I highly recommend Villa Beatrice. Thank you Simone for all of your help!
Simone Coliselli is a great host. We rented the entire villa (8 people) for a week in September. It was very comfortable, clean and very beautiful. The house is situated about 15 minutes from Verona. A car is necessary. The kitchen is great, or you can have Simone make you breakfast and eat out.
The best part of our time in Verona was having Simone give us suggestions. He loves his city of Verona. He got us dinner reservations, set up an amazing wine tasting, gave us maps, told us where the best gelato was in town, he even got a taxi for us the day we left. He is very helpful. I would stay there again.
We -- a group of 4 couples travelling from US and Canada -- stayed in the Villa Beatrice for 4 nights in the early September of 2016. We were in Verona to attend a wedding, and decided that we could have much more fun staying together in a villa than in a hotel. The villa is located on a beautiful hill top north of Verona, a quiet and peaceful location some 20 minutes from the city center. It's very well landscaped (with beautiful fig, walnut, olive trees, and vines around it) and it is also very well maintained inside. Living room and kitchen are good size, and bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. There are several quiet air conditioning units in the villa, including one in each bedroom. This can be a big plus if you are travelling in a warm season. We asked Simone (our host) to make breakfast for us every morning. This was very convenient, and the breakfast was very good, including fresh fruit juice, eggs, pancakes, veggie cakes, ... and of course tea and coffee. The price was very reasonable. Simone is very nice and friendly, and speaks English very well. He did his best to help us with everything and provided us with a lot of useful information and assistance from making reservations for trains to Venice, to giving us a ride at the end of our trip. The road to the villa climbs through some hills and the last kilometer or so is very narrow, basically a single narrow lane. However, taxis have no problem taking you there and they are pretty inexpensive. We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Beatrice, and I think the price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend it especially to groups of friends or one or more families looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in the Verona area.
We, a goup of four couples, stayed in the villa for four nights in early September. It was an excellent experience. The villa is beautiful and located in a very nice mountainous area near Verona. The owner, Simone, is a pleasant, helpful person and makes one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. He is there to help whenever you need. I will go there again if I can and do not hesitate to recommend it to anybody in love with nature and relaxing vacation.
One thing that I like to add, taxis are relative cheap in Verona. Do not bother to rent a car. It will be more expensive. Also leave the driving in narow and sometimes single-lane mountain roads to taxi drivers who know the roads much better.
Spent a week with another family (10 of us in all) staying in this lovely villa in the hills above Verona. The villa is set in 2 acres of beautiful garden complete with 2 hammocks, which the children spend much time on, a barbeque area and a gorgeous veranda.
The villa is about 15 minutes drive from Verona (along some narrow twisty roads -which add to the charm, and excitement) which is also where the nearest shops are. We self catered with no difficulty at all - the villa is well set up for this. Simone (our host) would also have been happy to provide breakfast if we had wanted to but we didn't take him up on this and there was no requirement to. Beds were comfortable and at the end of July we were enormously grateful for the very effective air conditioning.
Simone couldn't have been more helpful. He gave great advice on what we should do and what the best ways of doing it were - whether that was the best way to see Venice, how to cook Florentine steak (which he also managed to arrange the provision of) or giving us cushions to take to the opera (a must). He was available when we needed but left us to our own devices the rest of the time.
We initially hesitated because Simone's parents live on site in one half of the villa (separately). In fact we rarely saw them and the place felt wonderfully private. We felt that having them around was a good thing and meant that the property was kept in superb condition.
Verona is lovely in itself and the villa provided easy access to Lac Garda (45 minutes), Venice (1 hr 20 min) and the surrounding area - don't miss Vicenza which is well worth a day's exploration.
We rented the whole villa with another family for a week in July. We had a great stay! The villa is a beautiful oasis of peace and calm, and Simone is an exemplary host. He was so helpful in helping us to figure out what to do and where to visit! He has a great knack for knowing just how present to be, available for help and questions while giving us space and privacy. It totally felt like a home. Thanks so much Simone!
