Having raised six children and seeing them settled with families of their own, we thought it was time for us to look to our future. As my husband spent many years working in the agricultural supply industry and was bought up on a farm and my career revolved around the hospitality trade it seemed the most logical step was to combine our experiences. With our love of the countryside, holiday cottages with plenty of grounds was the answer. It definitely was the right decision, we have never looked back.
Wellstone Cottages purchased this bungalow in 2003
We fell in love with Nantyweirglodd because of its quite location, and we felt that all the basic qualities were there to build a fantastic holiday spot, for Families and Couples alike. All I can say is once you have been here you will know why we love this place.
Wellstone cottages are in a very quite and peaceful setting, we are surrounded by hill's, valley's, the Preseli Mountain range, a few minuets drive from the National Coastal path, and Pembrokeshire National Park.
We feel as if we are the only people here and yet just a short drive will get you into Tenby, St.Davids, Cardigan, Fishguard.
We have our own Pet's corner where you can help feed and pet the, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Pigmy Goats, Ducks, Chickens and even Quail, we have even got our own Turkey's, and always looking for more.
We have a Games room with a full size Snooker Table and a Play room for the very little one's, also a Tree House and a small (man made) Beach with Beach Hut
Just walk out of any cottage and you can have a picnic by the Stream or even down by the River, or just wander around the 11 acres of well kept grounds.
Our heartfelt thanks to the kind owners Thelma and Peter, for running such a beautiful place! Our cottage was perfectly furnished and "independant" from other guests. The great suprise was the dreamily vast and green loosely manicured lawns, chairs, small forest and stream, as well as immediate walking possibilities right outside of the property. Also a definite must for everyone who loves the stories of Alan Alexander Milne, here is a paradise for children (and grown up children)!
Accommodation: we staid in Ivy Cottage for a week, a lovely self contained one bed cottage. Spotlessly clean and recently refurbished to a high standard with everything you need including the bedding, towels and tea cloths also wifi.
Grounds: oh my goodness it's in 11 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland. It's in what can only be described as a private arboretum, absolutely stunning at any time of year.
Owners: Thelma and Peter are such lovely people and so very helpful and welcoming. When you get there, take a moment after a day or two and you will then fully appreciate the love dedication and hard work that has gone into making Wellstone a perfect idil. We absolutely loved it. Thank you, we'll be back for sure.
I can't praise Peter and Thelma enough for this property. If I could have given them 5 star +++ I would have done. I've stayed in some lovely places that felt like home from home but this place felt that I lived there from the time I settled in.
Peter and Thelma were very welcoming and helpful during my stay. The cottage itself was nice and cosy, well equipped and an amazingly big bedroom with tons of space.
The cottage were nice and secluded with plenty of peace and quiet. The grounds were a delight to wander about and had things to entertain kids of all ages- I include mature adults like myself.
Peter and Thelma have thought of everything to enhance the stay- bus timetables, points of interest, suggested walks, rows and rows of wellington boots to use, the list goes on and on.
Would I recommend this to anyone- of course I would. It's ideal for all ages and I'd bring my whole family, from grandchildren to myself, here anytime!
