About Dylan Younger
I am a 47-year-old self-employed father of two children, and I own the cottage jointly with my partner, Karen. We love the relaxed pace of the life in Seahouses, the cosy old-fashioned pubs, the superb wildlife and birdwatching, the stunning castles and coastal views and the countless beautiful walks along the beach and the dunes.
Dylan Younger purchased this Bungalow in 2002
Why Dylan Younger chose Seahouses
Karen and I both have fond childhood memories of holidays on the beautiful Northumberland beaches. We bought the cottage in 2002 when our children were very young and have enjoyed many special family holidays in it since. With lovely walks, spectacular views and acres of sandy beaches just a few minutes' walk from the front door, we have found it a cosy and convenient base from which to explore our favourite part of the British Isles. This part of Northumberland is one of the most unspoilt areas of England, and its rich wildlife and cosy character pubs and restaurants have kept us returning year after year. My whole family has, time and again, relished the relaxed pace of life offered by a break in Seahouses.
What makes this Bungalow unique
In Seahouses, the stresses & strains of working life ebb away in a beautiful harbour village which has lost none of its historic charm. The shopping centres of Newcastle and Gateshead are less than an hour's drive, but also a world away. The addition of an indoor heated pool and gym at the village leisure centre has proven an added attraction, while the village's proximity to the pretty market towns of Alnwick (recently voted as the town with the best quality of life in the UK!) and Berwick, has been a great benefit. We have travelled further afield to Edinburgh (90 minutes' drive) to see the castle and the zoo, but Seahouses itself offers so much, with a warm friendly welcome, a smattering of unusual craft and gift shops, some superb pubs offering great value food & two Indian restaurants.

Lovely little cottage...
Lovely little cottage, very nicely decorated/furnished and kitted out with all you need for your stay. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, close enough to the sea and with a handy supermarket within a few mins walk. Only small downside was the available parking. Great value for money.
Thanks for the review Penny. I'm pleased you had a lovely stay, and you are welcome back any time. The parking space is tight width-wise, and you do have to take care when parking up (it's about the width of a garage), but I did want to mention for prospective guests that there is a private parking space, and parking is free.
Well equipped cottage. Would be perfect with the addition of a dishwasher and wifi.
Thanks James - so pleased you had a good time at Little Haven. The kitchen area is not large enough for a dishwasher, unfortunately. But I do take your point on the wifi. We will be sorting this out early in 2018 so if you would like to return - any time from February onwards - it should be sorted. Regards, Dylan
Home from home.
The property couldn't be more perfectly positioned, set far enough back from the main Street to give you your well earned peace and quiet but also leaving you within strolling distance of anything you require.
The property itself has that duality of feeling well decorated and loved without making you feel like you need to walk on eggshells for fear of making a mess.
We'll definitely be back.
Lovely cottage perfect location
I stayed at little haven for a few days, it was lovely cosy comfy cottage with everything you need. Plenty space for a family, big screen tv and DVD player and also a cupboard full of games for the kids. It's about a 5 minute walk from the harbour with shops and facilities within 50 yards! Perfect location you couldn't be any closer! Thank you for a wonderful stay. And I will say make sure you visit bamburgh castle it is beautiful and the views from the beach are gorgeous. Thank you again
Cosy and well-loated
Our hosts made us feel very welcome through all communications, and the cottage was charming. It's nicely located close to all of Seahouses, yet sheltered a bit away from the wind. We found that the cottage had everything we needed. It felt like a place the owners want to take good care of both for guests and for themselves! We'll definately be back.
Everything we needed was in the cottage which is lovely and in the center of town within walking distance of everything, shops, restaurants, pubs, harbour and beach. We walked to beautiful Bamburgh castle one day and the weather was great all the time we were there. The cottage is in a quiet area and contains everything one needs, is clean and a lovely place to stay.
Special interest holidays: No visit to Seahouses would be complete without a boat trip to the Farne Islands, with its puffin and seal colonies - one of the most impressive areas of natural history in the British Isles. Coast/Beach: The cottage is just five minutes walk from two of the impressive beaches in Britain - beautiful, unspoilt stretches of sand which offer superb views of the Farne Islands and the world-famous Bamburgh Castle. Travel: The cottage is less than hour's drive from Newcastle airport, and a similar drive from North Shields ferry port. There is plenty to see right on the doorstep of Seahouses and Bamburgh, but using a car would allow you to get the most from your visit, and explore the full stretch of the beautiful North Northumberland coastline. Distances: Bamburgh with its world-famous castle, is just three miles away, and the beautiful harbour village of Beadnell, with its pubs, restaurants, nature reserve and long stretches of sandy beaches, is less than 2 miles away. Further Details: Little Haven is right on the doorstep for some of the most charming pubs and restaurants in Northumberland - including the famous Ship Inn, a veritable treasure trove of local maritime history, overlooking the picturesque harbour.
