The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two, having just undergone a recent refurbishment. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies. Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.

About Roy and Vivienne Osborne
We grew up in Bath and Oxford and spent our working lives in different overseas locations. After retirement we settled in this beautiful part of Somerset and enjoy the outdoor life, wildlife conservation, walking and cycling. Roy speaks French and Spanish.
Roy and Vivienne Osborne purchased this Barn in 2010
Why Roy and Vivienne Osborne chose Over Stowey
We loved this property when we first saw it in 2009. We wanted to move to Somerset on retirement and The Quantock Hills and surrounding areas offered just what we were looking for. We have loved being part of such a friendly and welcoming community.
What makes this Barn unique
The property is spacious and secluded with excellent parking facilities and open views towards the nearby Quantock Hills. The patio/terrace is south facing and ideal for eating outside. Many of our visitors would like to move in permanently!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The property is in lovely country setting and Vivienne was very helpful and welcoming
The kitchen was very well kitted out with everything you need and the bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of draw space. However the hanging space for those items you need to hang was downstairs in the bathroom which was a bit inconvenient
The outside patio required a bit of tlc and the outside furniture could do with replacing
It was fantastic

Relaxing stay in a beautiful barn
Beautiful dog friendly barn in a peaceful location. Stunning views. The property is much bigger than the pictures would suggest. The terrace is an all day sun trap. We spent our days walking over the quantocks which are a very short drive away. Would highly recommend this property.
Excellent accommodation at an affordable price.
The owners were friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Granary. The location was perfect for us with lovely views. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. We slept well in the comfortable bed and had everything we needed for our stay. We were only staying for a couple of nights but would have been happy to stay longer to enjoy walks around the surrounding areas. We will definitely try to stay here again when visiting the area.
