Overview

About the property

Barn Conversion in Over Stowey, Bridgwater, Somerset, England, UK - Peaceful, Rural Location Within Minutes Of The Quantock Hills And The West Somerset Coast

The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two, having just undergone a recent refurbishment. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies. Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely relaxing weekend in this delightful property. Ideal location for exploring the beautiful Quantocks. The couple who own the property live next door, they were helpful and friendly but also respectful of our privacy. The Granary is very spacious, the views are stunning. It has everything you need. My only comment is to be mindful of the steep steps to the mezzanine bedroom but once up there the bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in! We hope to be back!

Spacious, light, airy, well equipped.

Beautiful surroundings. A comfortable home feel. So much room. We've enjoyed everyday doing Somerset's coast and country and making our way back to the granary. Certainly a thumbs up.

We only stayed for a couple of days but had a great, relaxing break. Roy and Vivienne were very helpful.

Great location for short trips to the seaside, and a very friendly horse! Thank you

Peace and tranquility!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in The Granary on Pear Tree Farm. Roy and Vivienne are great. The property is wonderfully situated on a quiet road. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very comfortable bed and furnishings. Lovely private patio overlooking the country side and the horses. Made some of our own meals in the well equipped kitchen. Recommend the Cottage Inn for Sunday roast!
