Villa in Lampaul Ploudalmezeau, Brest, Finistere, France - Peaceful Location Near Beach

The house is a large detached one in a very peaceful location in the village of Lampaul Ploudalmezeau and is within easy walking distance of the sea. It has been fully renovated and every room comes with new electricity sockets. There is a large garden mainly in cut lawn at the back and parking for at least three cars at the side of the house. The back of the property faces south and the patio doors from the living room lead on to a terrace which gets the sun all day. An aperitif and a meal on the terrace is a very relaxing way to spend an evening.

Having had several requests for internet access we have now had it installed. In conjunction with this all landline calls to Europe are free although calls to mobiles are different. In addition we have had a separate telephone system installed so that guests may receive calls from UK callers at a cheaper rate for the caller. All of this has been an expensive addition so we would ask guests to use this facility with discretion.

About The Owner

I live with my wife in Portstewart which is an attractive town on the coast in Northern Ireland. We were both schoolteachers but have now retired and now spend our time holidaying in Donegal and France. We just love this area and have made many friends in Lampaul-Poudalmezeau.

Why The Owner chose Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau

We bought this house because we had visited France for over 30 years and really loved the country. We chose this area because of its similarity to Ireland, because of the beautiful,rugged scenery, the vast array of stunning beaches and because of its quiet peaceful location. My son and his wife had already chosen to settle near here and this also helped us to decide. There is everything we need to live here with quick access to supermarkets and other shops, numerous unbelievably attractive small towns and villages near at hand and a wide choice of golden sands to walk and admire. Lampaul-Ploudalmezeau is less than an hour from Brest airport and is a similar distance from the ferry port of Roscoff. Traffic jams and crowds don't exist here.

What makes this house unique

With Lampaul-Poudalmezeau situated within easy walking distance from the sea, it is easy to choose between numerous beaches. Our house ensures privacy and quiet as the village is a haven of peace and tranquility.

When we were renovating the property we reduced the number of bedrooms from 4 to 3 and turned the 4th bedroom into a shower room and included another toilet in the design. This now gives us 2 toilets and 2 showers plus a bath and makes it ideal for more than 2 people. The house was fully renovated over the last 2 years and will meet the most demanding needs.

Notes on accommodation: The property is large and airy and very comfortable. There are timed electric heaters which are very efficient. The large garden is ideal for children as there is a new fence and gates so it is completely enclosed . Outside: There is a large garden at the back which is in grass. A patio is outside the doors leading from the living room. There is a large patio table and chairs as well as three loungers and a barbecue stored in the garage. Utility Room: Washing machine, clothes airer and laundry basket, vacuum cleaner. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included in the rental price. Other: The property has an integral garage which is where the hot water tank is situated and also the utility area.

There are several sandy beaches within a 10 minute walk with sand or rock pools. There is surfing, wind and kite surfing on some of them and several locations for diving. Several more beaches are about 5km away and the coast offers many more quiet beaches in both directions from the house.


Guipavas Brest airport is 29km away and there are several car hire firms available as a car would be essential for sight seeing, shopping etc. Roscoff is the nearest ferry port at 66km, Cherbourg is 441km and Calais is 736km. Paris is a 611km drive away.


Ploudalmezeau is the nearest town at 4km. St Pabu and Portsall are 5km away. St Renan is 18km. Brest is 28km. Le Conquet is 30km. Quimper 96km and Pont Aven 124km.
